My cousin from Boston always had a lot of trouble with "Pop" In Boston, they called it "Tonic." So she'd get off the plane in Minnesota and ask for a "tonic" and they'd direct her to a drugstore. She'd go home and ask for a "pop" and they'd give her a lollypop.
It's Min neh soh tah. And it's "eh" not aye...also we can talk real fast and be understood by other Minnesotans but we can be a bit too fast for non Minnesotans to understand and in that case we usually repeat ourselves but at a slower speed.
Most Tv personnel are mid west accent. Around the country. We are not from Canada. Funny! I went to south padre Texas in 93. Young 20'S. MET gals from Alabama- Southern gals. They said we talk like Lawrence Welk. Weird.
Yo loki I don't think we have accents like the things people say what we say "You Betcha" and other things like "Aye" but we are really kind and don't really swear but me I'm just really annoying.
Well for one I’m from Minnesota and no one says you betcha or have any accents. The things I think about when I think about Minnesota are mall of America and Mayo Clinic
WayZ_SwapZ Where I live we say you betcha and I’ve heard some people with strong Minnesotan accents, I think it really depends where you live because certain cities live up to these stereotypes.
actually no--the twin cities has the most educated workforce in the country and our public education system consistently ranks in the top five because of our above average standardized testing scores. you tried though
When it comes to electricians and their technical training, we are second to none. We're always adapting to the newest edition of the National Electrical Code Book when it cycles every three years with the new/modified OSHA approved regulations. Not only that but we have the Mayo Clinic with some of the best doctors and latest treatmenst in the 50 states. Sure we got a few backwood hick towns but their low population towns that are few and far between.
@Rk0788 k you took three replies to finish out a thought? that's a little weird. our population is actually 5.6 million so you're wrong there. we are actually one of the least obese states, coming in at around 35th-40th *most* obese, depending on the source that is used. we are also one of the most active because of our lake and outdoors culture. i never said anything about us having the largest workforce--i talked about having an educated workforce so you swung and missed there, too. you're wrong about the food stamps as well. roughly 400,000 minnesotans are on SNAP right now, and with 27 states having more recipients than us, we aren't even in the top 50% of SNAP recipients by state. you're also wrong about public school in minnesota. usually, minnesota is the first state that isn't in the northeast to rank highly in best public school systems. you can check forbes for that one. i'm actually receiving *an education by the way (you seem to not know that "an" is used instead of "a" when the following word begins with a vowel), but thank you for your concern. i'm a triple major: economics, accounting, and spanish. i also don't know what you're referring to when you say "fake news." i don't watch the news to figure this stuff out. i use statistics from trusted, scholarly sources. my school system taught me that.
@Rk0788 k interesting that you assume i'm left-leaning and a walz supporter. i'm actually considerably more conservative than liberal. i also didn't vote for walz. again, i thank you for being concerned about my money for college, but i have enough academic scholarships to bring down my costs to almost nothing, ergo i'm wasting no money. my triple major will actually be fantastic for when i die seeing as my career path will end up with me having enough money for my family to not have to worry about funeral costs, and i'll be able to leave ample amounts in my will, which is my goal. lastly, everything i stated in my two replies above are fact and not opinion. even if they were opinion, at least i know basic grammar and don't resort to insults when i'm proven wrong.
when your Minnesotan and you watch this

Minnesotans are of low caliber and scant intelligence. Which explains why MN is a blue state.
lol. no. not at all.
