Thank you for this video! I was worried I would have to replace the entire heating shroud that was like $110. But I found a coil online for only 13 bucks and replaced it myself. Thank you!
Hello. Thank you so much for the detailed video. Question. It looks like I have to order the whole silver plate you’re working with, I didn’t know you could order just the coils. Since the heater is not working on the dryer, should I just order the coils, two for 25? I don’t think I have to order that whole octagon shaped plate. Thanks for your help.
It's seldom necessary to order the coil pan with the coil installed. If your pan and support insulators are in good shape, just order the coils. Thanks for watching and writing!
Have the exact same dryer. Pulled the drum out, saw the heating element burnt in two, but saw something odd... An under wire from a bra got into the element some how and burnt the element and the under wire to a crisp. New element on order from Amazon
We replaced the heating element wire on our Frigidaire dryer but when we turned it back on it sounded like it popped and now it won't even turn on. Help! Any advice appreciated. Thanks
Do the wires on the element coil matter where they go? I forgot which color goes where and I want to be sure they go in the right place. Mine are yellow and black
I have pretty much the same dryer what I’m experiencing as I got everything off and now I’m going to pull the drum out and it is like somethings holding it in. I tried lifting up on it but it’s like there’s screws keeping it in place help please
My dryer has a round metal piece that will not allow us to take the housing for the heating element. We have tried to remove the metal disk in the middle by there are no screws holding it. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks in advance
Hello again. At the end of your video, there is a typo you might want to know about. If it was me, I would appreciate someone telling me. You wrote, “…..please sunscribe”. It should say subscribe. Take care.
The title should be how to replace heating element. The overheat sensor could be issue test it first. Test it should be closed contacts when cold. They Can stick open when they fail.
great video- i would lube the belt tensioner pulley shaft - put a glob of grease in the plastic socket and lube the motor shaft where the centrifugal switch slides back and forth

It should not matter. But always best to take a picture first and get all wires back where they came from.

My new coil seams way hotter. Normal?
Yes, it is normal. But you must be careful about the exhaust and lint build-up. Make sure you exhaust pipe is clean.

We love the sun too! Thanks for catching that. I'll be more careful with my typing in the future. 🙃
