  • In this video we hit the snow covered trails to see how the Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss performs. Thanks to winter tires from Toyo and a host of off-road goodies, the ZR2 was ready for a winter torture test.
We took the new Colorado through thick ice, deep snow and mud. Was it up to the challenge? Find out in the video above.

@Akbir123 mine is a 3.6 V6. I've never had a warning light on. I haven't heard of any engine problems with it. The new one in this video has a different engine than mine and I'm not too familiar with it

You take the report of 25 problems out of 20,000 vehicles. I have seen little things that every new truck has its little bs. I have also rolled 7 state parks and offroad challenge courses. No major issues. Injector tune on the ECM is being done this week. Rear end is being checked for improper machining on the bearings. But Chevy is stepping up on all of them. And I can burn a 6ft posi mark with no brake in Baha Mode lots of torque in this baby at 430 to the wheels. Some day you will drop your gen 2.

We use these trucks in the army at the 101st. Of course it’s more tactical is called a ISV. Same chasis, suspension and off road computer but with a diesel motor. The truck is absolutely amazing. We successfully broke 3 but it’s cause of night driving and we actually beat them to crap. But man they’re so amazing and tough little trucks.

Just watched again. Again I must say: fantastic! I have not seen any mid sized truck or SVU do this good on the left hook and the rest, even if not snow covered. I am still in shock that you managed to get a Ridgeline thru at all, and without body damage(I have a 21). And I guess that Maverick Tremor did about as good, but trail conditions did not seem as bad. Very impressive results!

Great video Stephen, yes these are awesome trucks, no doubt , the reason you made it through all your trails and obstacles was the tires it had , i know there are not stock, i guess this is a press vehicle like we use to drive, the ZR2 would have probably made it with stock tires, not without getting stuck at least once, the price is the killer, $76708.00, I helped a buddy spec out a ZR2 back in 2020 and it had every available option except the diesel engine which he didn't want anyway . his truck came out to $21,000.00 less than this one and i know this is an all new Colorado and powertrain, there is nothing wrong with the older V6, he did the winter tire purchase from our local Costco and that thing like this just doesn't care about snow even on ice in 2WD it works just fine and ice fishing, wow , 45 feet tall icy river bank, no problem 4WD high lock the rear and Bob's your uncle 👍

The people complaining about the price are out of touch with reality. This truck starts at $48,800 US. A Gladiator Rubicon starts at $53,800. $2k more for an automatic. Considering what you get, I think it’s a steal. You can get the Colorado WT 4x4 for $35,500. Everyone wants all the bells, whistles, and performance and then they get all twisted up about paying for it. LMFAO. You don’t have to like the global economic conditions we are living in, but that is reality.
