16 seconds in and hit the subscribe button. Love your vibe and love the realness 🥲 18 books is great girl, I read 50+ and don't know if I can name them all on the top of my head tbh. I set this year's goodreads goal to 20, instead of 50 like the past years. Quality over quantity babes!
I loved Scythe but hated the 2nd book (Think it's called Thunderhead). I also read Red Rising. It was just okay for me and I never did continue on with it.
When you said you gave Red Rising a 4.5 because a different book got 5 stars, I was appalled...until I found out the 5 stars went to Golden Son. 😂 Totally agree
i read 103 books this year but i was really stressed and anxious/ depressed about stuff happening irl so i fully used reading as an escape. i usually hit maybe 55 so i feel u
omg i’ve been wanting to read cleopatra & Frankenstein for a while but though it might be a little boring/ a little sally rooney coded??and i need a break from miss gurl but i’ll give it a try now!!
So happy to be subscriber #64 and looking forward to tagging along for the next year! If your open to it, I would highly recommend my favourite series called Nevermoor (first book by the same name) by Jessica Townsend which has won many of my local literature awards and prizes. Fully disclosure, this series is classified as a middle grade fantasy, but it personally doesn't bother me at all as the world is so immersive and the characters are so fleshed out. But if this is something that bothers you, please don't feel pressured at all to read it. I just love any opportunity I can to shout out my local Aussie authors, as they are so often forgotten and many amazing opportunities to expand their global audience aren't available to them because of our isolation from the rest of the world. Can you tell I'm passionate about it? 😅 Thank you for reminding that it's okay to not meet the ridiculous quantity of books read per year that is now normalise on social media.
wow thank you so much for the thoughtful and kind comment, it means so much to me!! i will definitely check nevermoor out bc i know when someone is super passionate ab a book, its gotta be good!! :)
you are so real for this
i try to be HAHAH

ugh thank u!!! and you are so right
I finish like 8 books + comic books during the summer and then a single novel just stays in my bag half-read for the rest of the year -_-
felt this so deeply HAHHA

I read Home Before Dark. I liked it but didn't love it. Riley Sager's endings just tend not to work for me but I generally overall like the journey.
im definitely the same way i think!!
idk if you have but you should get fable or goodreads!! also i love how you talk about books it feels like im on facetime
ugh thank u sm that's my goal!! and i use storygraph to keep track but have used goodreads before!!

New subscriber here! Just wondering if you've ever came across Rebecca Schaeffer's work, she does YA fantasy and she's one of my favourite authors.
oh cool!! i haven't read her stuff before but after a quick google it looks super up my alley!! i'll check it out, thanks
Hate to use “refreshing” but it was refreshing to not hear “here are my reviews of all 143 books I’ve read this year”
hahah happy it was refreshing!!
