These 2005 reviews with Eddie kill me. He was on an amazing heel run, about ready to win the World Title by Survivor Series, and would have had an amazing run as the top heel on Smackdown. On top to all of his stellar in ring work and the fact that he was gone too soon, it’s so hard to watch.

A few corrections... Batista and JBL's No Mercy encounter was in 2008, not in 2007. And Shawn Michaels' teaming with "God" at Backlash wasn't in 2007 either, it was 2006.
@Hal Jordan Laugh all you want, but the joke's on you since your response is what's useless here for how pathetic and contradictory it is. Firstly, I wasn't looking to pump people up. Secondly, if no one gave two "shuts" about what I've pointed out, there'd be no likes for my comment or any responses. But there are, so people do care. And you responded too, showing that you also care. It's amazing how so many people make that stupid insult when they don't actually know what not caring even means.

25:17 Brian Zane did an oopsie! The match between Batista and JBL happened in No Mercy 2008. No Mercy 2007 is when Batista defended his world title against the Great Khali in the Punjabi Prison.
Zane, I agree with you on the Hardy/Edge angle. I’m a 2023 Edge Head but Matt Hardy was my favorite wrestler for a long time. Vince absolutely buried him for going public after he re-signed him due to fan backlash. You can see Vince just thinking “Hardy is a beta male for going public and not beating Edge’s ass” and deciding to punish him for being a BETA once he came back. I’m not saying Vince was right (he was wrong). I’m just saying that’s completely something VKM would do.

I was at Unforgiven 05 to see the great cage match between Hardy and Edge. It was my first pay-per-view and watching them beat the hell out of each other is still my favorite match I've seen live. Glad Matt got the win on this night.
The one thing I found funny about that ladder match was the fact that Dominic didn't look anything like Eddie.
Or didn't react in a positive way when Eddie interacted with him.
Who's your Daddy Montreal 😀.
420 Benton Ha Ha classic HBK!
Eddie is
🎶 'O Canada, how I hate this place. O Canada, I'm gonna kick Hulk Hogan right in the face.' 🎶 😄
*crowd boos intensify*
420 Benton I still remember how loud that crowd popped when Bret hart's music hit, no one in wwe today will ever get that loud of a reaction. That was such an amazing prone by Shawn
Well basically Angle was a heel for most of his career, but when he started shaving his head, people rooted for him a lot. A lot (including myself) wanted him to win Mania 21 vs Shawn Michaels and to retain in Mania 22.
“Dominic Mysterio” I died laughing at that!! 😂😂😂😂 awesome review Bryan!
"The ghost of Curt Hennig is telling him to calm down"..... I'm done! I laughed so hard at that!
I was wondering if Brian could look at and review the first RAW after Owen Hart's death.
I remember watching it in person and being so enamored of the professionalism displayed.
Raw is owen still makes me cry
Sadly, it was the complete opposite for when Pillman died. The true lack of professionalism displayed is disgusting.
@@SethKasso remember Vince interviewing Melanie Pillman on that show

I give your emotional memories of your friends one and a half stars.
At the time this was sort of a ugh heartbreaking event, but as time went on we all knew he never really likes him.
One and a half stars is all I can really give those tears.”
Thank you for this video Brian. My grandfather passed away today and your content always puts a smile on my face. I really needed this today. Thanks for all you do.
Loved Eddie Guerrero as a heel, but never loved the dominic angle.
MetalJT24 yeah I found it in pretty bad taste too to be honest.
The best part was the social worker character just losing her mind at the end, like "WHAT THE HELL IS THE MATTER WITH YOU PEOPLE?" LOL
Yeah same
@@sharona1981 At least they didn't decide to have Dominic suspended above the ring or have him on a forklift.
I love the Dominic angle. It's so ridiculous I can't help but to laugh my ass off
Hogan's reaction to Michaels' oversell of the big boot is perfect
_Did I do that? I didn't know I was _*_that_*_ powerful._
9:00 Vince Russo would pep it up: HE WOULD BE THE FATHER OF DOMINIC! AND REY MSTERIO!
Vince russo has struck again

@@godfather71190 Rey I'm you're bro...... bro
And Judy Bagwell was the real mother via Mory esque paternity test
There's a truly beautiful bit in Hogan vs Michaels, and it's when Hogan realizes what Shawn's doing. He has this perfect look of "oh you ***********...." in his face because he knows at that point there's nothing he can do about it.
I somewhat remember Summerslam 2005.
Man, I miss the Ruthless Aggression Era!
Al's Variety me too. Well, Smackdown was great during that era. A lot of Raw was tough to watch with HHH having his “nobody wins but me” phase.
Guy Incognito smackdown was the show I watched too as the writing was superior the in ring product was superior and the building of stars was superior
Me too man :D
The ruthless aggression still had some of the best parts of the attitude era with better overall match quality
I have it on DVD.
Lol loved the Eddie imitation of him yelling at Dominic.
Also, never understood how someone can miss their cue on a run-in. Especially someone just coming onto the scene or a low-card wrestler. It's like they have one job that they can literally sit around the whole show waiting on and you would think staff would be back there too and somehow they cant do the one job that sat around backstage waiting for??
Before I even watch your review I'm giving Hogan vs HBK 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Mainly because of Michaels & his OUTSTANDING work at selling to Hogan. #Classic
I gave it 4 stars because Hogan has always entertained me. Hogan is the GOAT
@@SuperPeterok who has to be the winner or come out strong no matter what, even if it makes no sense him winning.
Nah. I agree with Brian. One and a half.
Michaels is an unprofessional asshole. They could of put on a great match if he didn’t have his panties in a twist and losing his smile again.
@@RatelHBadger hes that damn good brother! He did the job for the Ultimate Warrior and the Rock so that's good enough
@@opinionatedcheese8327 he looks like diddy kong with the shaved head.
I'll be honest, I popped as soon as this notification came up.
Hahahaha Shawn Michaels with the shovel!! I died! 😂😂😂
JBL was going through his 1st retirement in 2007 if memory serves me correctly. He did commentary during that period.
I would love to see a Rey vs Eddie Retrospective with commentary about Dominik
I just noticed a picture of Dominic as a backdrop for this video 4 minutes in.. I'm slow XD
I was 15 minutes in and it took reading your comment for me to notice...
Jonathan Agar where the fuck is vickieeeee
Jesus I haven't noticed that and I already watched the full video. Holy hell....
Edit: I spelled watched wrong AM I FIVE???
I took 16 minutes for it
Like Eugene slow or Undertaker coming to the ring slow?? lol
"The ghost of Curt Hennig is telling him to calm down...." Bravo, sir. Bravo.
As silly and wild as it could get sometimes, This is still one of my favorite Summerslam's of the Ruthless Aggression era.
Just hearing a single second of Seether's "Remedy" takes me back to the days of 2005...
I appreciate the fact that you don't use any biases when it comes to Benoit matches. He was one of the greatest in that era at the end of the day. And at the very end of his life he was a very sick man. Rest in peace to all three of them
Me: Better get some sleep...
Brian: *uploads a new classic PPV review*
Me: Sleep can wait.
Woah woah woah, you gave the Oz segment from Superbrawl 4* so I think you're already too far down the sarcastic asshole route to turn back now
Shawn's athleticism while selling blew me away.
The “6 years ago” line from JR to Coach was a Mean Street Posse reference
A few corrections...
Batista and JBL's No Mercy encounter was in 2008, not in 2007. And Shawn Michaels' teaming with "God" at Backlash wasn't in 2007 either, it was 2006.
Not only was I just about to comment this, I was actually going to start it with "A few corrections". Wild 😆 Thanks for saving me the time! 👍
TheAverageGrunt You're welcome (not that I'm Damien Sandow).
@Hal Jordan Laugh all you want, but the joke's on you since your response is what's useless here for how pathetic and contradictory it is. Firstly, I wasn't looking to pump people up. Pointing out mistakes just encourages people to be more accurate next time. Otherwise, why not let inaccuracies get bigger until they make something incoherent? Secondly, if no one gave two "shuts" about what I've pointed out, there'd be no likes for my comment or any responses. But there are, so people do care. And you responded too, showing that you also care. It's amazing how so many people make that stupid insult when they don't actually know what not caring even means.
"Why would a Man whose shirt says 'Genius at Work' spend all of his time watching a children's cartoon show?"
Quentin Kaasa I don't get what you're talking about...
One per week is not enough for me, but I can understand that you have many projects, love your channel and this series, kkep going ❤️❤️
20:50 That comment from JR to Coach was a reference to the Mean Street Posse.
Had to pause this halfway through and take a break. Wow! What an excellent review! Brings me back to when I was just 13 watching in 2005. Mr. Zane you are the best I could listen to your commentary all day.
Loved the 8 bit Seether song at the end. That song defines Ruthless Aggression era for me
Dom becoming a walking tribute to this storyline makes it way better.

Watching this in 2024 and wondering why rhea and liv didn’t fight over dom in a ladder match it’s what Eddie would’ve wanted
25:17 Brian Zane did an oopsie!
The match between Batista and JBL happened in No Mercy 2008.
No Mercy 2007 is when Batista defended his world title against the Great Khali in the Punjabi Prison.
WWE uploaded the ladder match recently and I loved how the thumbnail is basically Eddie yelling at Dominik. Its really funny.
Here super early. Love ya Brian. Keep up the great content
Zane,
I agree with you on the Hardy/Edge angle.
