I really enjoy your videos. Yours is truly a service to folks just starting out and not knowing what to get let alone the names of tools. Proper names like tounge and groove. I always thought they were called channel locks! Anyways keep up the great work!

What trade are you in? Thanks for the feed back. I know when i got in the trades no one ever told me what to get and why? Thats why i make the videos.

Just get the 12inch ones. You get 1/2 inch more jaw capacity, the thickness is about the same, more confortable to use and you get more leverage. The only reason you should get the 10inch is if you want it to be lighter.

I am fucking your waifu and there's nothing you can do about it I'm all about light weight. Your right about the leverage you can go wrong with 12". I just don't like the wight in my back pocket.

Cool tools. I like the black one. they don`t tend to get knocked off like the shiny ones.

I am starting to get used to the push button on the pliers wrench and Cobras or Channellock GL series. When I pick up Channellock regular groove locks now sometimes feel for a button that isn't there. Seldom grab for a traditional adjustable wrench anymore. Really like the Pliers Wrench.

they are great every now and then i miss the one hand opening of Channellocks lol

Hey guy , I believe that the plated ones are in the process of being phased out. The black plierswrench wil l replace the plated ones after all the old stock is gone. Great vid as always

Quite simply, if you plan to use it in plumbing get the chrome one as the black one will rust. I also got the standard grip as its cheaper and slimmer.

Do the new 10" models fit everything on a sloan flush valve the old ones didnt

    • @OneToolAWeekGuy
      @OneToolAWeekGuy  5 років тому +4

Jason Malicek thanks for asking and yes they do. The flush tube nuts fit. Might be the reason why they added the 1/4".

Just noticed on Instagram that the 7 1/4" size in the pliers wrench in the new design is now out. Didn't see them on Amazon yet. I will probably need to plan them in to my tool budget.

I have ended up getting the 7 1/4" in the new style too. The capacity is not a lot different but I do like useing the pliers wrench.

just for info .. the item numbers on the pliers , the end number (250) for example on the sets you've shown here that refers to the overall height of the pliers in (mm)

I took the larger Crescent wrenches out of my bag and only use the pliers wrench

  • @chrisjones6165

I've been eyeing these but hope they make bigger sizes. Think vav boxes and how sweet that would be without maring the brass.

Fyi...they're both made of Chrome Vanadium...that's the type of steel, not the color. The top finish isnt what chrome vanadium refers to.

What's up brother I was so happy to see you do another video on the Knipex pliers wrench. After watching your video I had to grab my Knipex and read on the back of them to see how far mine opened I have the old model they open up the 1- 3/4 in. Now it looks like I have to go buy the new pair that opens to 2 in. Loved your video. Peace brother

Makita man, I noticed today at Menards they have the new chrome ones. It will be hard to pass them up. I have really tried to start using the pliers wrench instead of regular adjustable wrench and am starting to get hooked. Afraid that extra opening will be hard to resist for very long.
