Thanks for taking me around Gloucester and Cheltenham where I lived for many years, one of my house's was in Brockworth off to the right of the dual carriageway you were on heading for Birdlip Hill. I drove HGV's before the license came out driving construction site flat beds in and around London. Later drove an ERF flat bed taking construction plant from S. London to Chepstow for a tunnel job under the Rivers Severn & Wye, before driving the tunnel boring machine. So made the move down that way. Later took the class 1 test with the training at Staverton Airport. In between contracts I would pick up short term jobs, one was driving the catering kitchen on The Eagle Has Landed film, followed by The Spy Who Loved Me, Bond film. The first location was Sardinia with a Transit box van. The next location was a Fiat kitchen with box trailer from Pinewood to a shipper at Heathrow to be sealed for TIR, was joined by a Bedford TK kitchen and Freezer truck. Next stop Dover where we were then told we had two days to reach Venice for a ferry to Alexandria Egypt. We did not have a sailing time so reached the port at 2am. Told it did not sail until 10 pm. so much for the rush. We were joined by 7 camera, lighting crew trucks from Rome. Lots of locations around Cairo then the long haul down to the Valley of The Kings. Great memories and even had a sing along with Roger Moore and the giant Richard Gere ? The drive back to UK was 8hrs per day, with a 3 day wait in Alex, so more like a holiday but with excellent pay. So thank you for stirring this old 79 years old's memories. PS. I now drive in Vietnam dodging the thousands of motorbikes.
Hey, good to see you back, mate. That looked a bit of a nasty do on the M25. Having spent years of motorway policing, screens are usually erected when there is a fatality and so close to a bridge it’s a fair bet some poor soul jumped. Looking forward to part 2. Stay safe
5:34 - I think you need a beers and barbeque meet up with your subscribers! 😋 Great video as always, shame you couldn't record some of those other trips but it is what it is. Always grateful for the stuff you do cover.
Thought you had runaway and left us it's been so long!!!. Great 👍 you are back. Pity you could have made a few vids on your journeys you've had. That one to Italy sounded really interesting. See good old blighty is still full of road works and cones😂. Glad lve retired to Greece 🇬🇷. Road works practically unheard of. Great content as always and very much looking forward to the next one. Safe journey mate.
Fantastic video as always, Great to see the best trucking vlogger back making videos for You Tube. We are already looking forward to watching the rest of your videos from this trip. Take care and best wishes to you
That rattling reminds me of coming back from Spain or Italy in the mid 90s with a load of biere blonde on the top bunk with a stash of samson tobacco to keep it company 😂
