Look at the opening picture of Namor. A mutant titan that can go toe to toe with the Hulk, Heracles, or Thor. That's what the MCU should have been aiming to have him look like. A formidable, alien looking demigod. Instead we got a short tubby Mexican bloke beaten by a little girl and a sun lamp. With enough jewellery to make him fit in at a Brazilian street carnival. Thanks Disney.
They had to do it bcause Aquaman already out first, they dont want people confused on which one is which since 95% of the people in this earth dont read Marvel and DC comic books. Example : Some people know Dart Vader is from Star Trek, and LOTS of my friends say Superman, Batman & Wonder Woman is from Marvel, LoL.
You are 100% right and your description of that. Horrible, horrible travesty, they served up. It was a disgrace to the Marvel universe and the Namor character.
@user-ny9kk9ln6y Had they presented Namor like he was originally created, there would have been no confusion. that Aquaman mess they made was terrible too.
Mispronunciations aside, Namor embodies the qualities that made Marvel superheroes the best: as Stan Lee once said, 'They're super beings with super problems." They have to face many of the same problems that we normal humans do (fear, depression, uncertainty, moral ambiguity, relationship problems, vulnerabilities, limitations, etc.) in addition to fighting off threats to the Earth and its inhabitants. IOW, they're relatable. To paraphrase the Bard, uneasy is the head that wears the crown of Atlantis.
He wasn’t that bad clearly they had to change him to differentiate from Aquaman and his Atlantis I personally hope we see him again but I also love the OG comics version

He may be the first Mutant introduced by Marvel but I think Apocalypse has the title of first/oldest mutant unless there have been changes to those claimes. I know, re-writing a characters history? Must be something new for Marvel or any other comic company right?
I used to think Namor was Marvel's first mutant too, but I don't believe it's Namor. I believe Selene (Selene Gallio) is first, Namor is second, and Apocalypse is third. Actually, in between Selene and the birth of Apocalypse, there's an indication that there were even more mutants (besides Namor). I'm near certain Selene is the first known mutant.

Namor being a hybrid doesn't make him a mutant, that basically just being biracial, the ankle wings are his mutation. I wish Marvel had settled the Copyright issues over Namor because that travesty in Black Panther.
Marvel.com states Namor is a mutant also In the first issue of the five-part Illuminati miniseries, after being experimented on by the Skrulls, it was confirmed that Namor is not only an Atlantean/human hybrid but also a mutant.
I always thought Namor was Marvel's silliest-looking character. It's as if Mr. Spock and Ming the Merciless had a child....I always thought he was the Perfect Goof...but that's just me.
Right leave it to the past producer of Black Panther to depict Namor as this 5'-0" Aztec Mexican with wings on his feet. A total catastrophe amongst other ones in the MCU they screwed up in the past.

Namor, the first superhero that was drawn flying....before superman.
actually that's a good fun fact " thanks even the original human torch
They didn’t do Namor Justice when they portrayed him and Atlanteans as some sort of spanish speaking character.
I agree, that was horrible.
Namor was the birth idea for Aquaman.

yes, but not the first published mutant

yes first Mutant introduced,
So basically DC has been a rival of marvel for so long it began with namor vs Aquaman 😂
I don't think he flies because of the ankle wings.....
I'm not sure he does, I think they are used for navigation, unfortunately I couldn't find much information on it
He does. In an old issue of Spiderman, Namor lost his flight when Spidey webbed his ankle wings...
This is the Namor that Marvel should have been showing. that travesty they came up with and called it Namor was ridiculous.
