If they have available, go for Kobe and Baby beefs Drink anything slowly and enjoy your meal.
And that's exactly the right way to leave a churrasco rodizio. Sleepy, heavy and feeling like you could never eat again in your life. Triste de tanto comer, "sad from eating too much".
Hello, Ivana and Steve! Actually, GAÚCHOS are also brazilians! The gaúcho culture spreads through 3 coutries: Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil (in the State of Rio Grande do Sul and bits of Santa Catarina and Mato Grosso). In fact, the brazilians born in and the culture of Rio Grande do Sul are called "gaúchos" and "gaúcha", respectivelly.. ||| I love your videos!
yeah but in Brazil only the people from Rio Grande do Sul are gaúchos. Whereas in Argentina everyone is gaucho, that's why Argentina is called a Gaucho Nation, while us in Brazil we are a Carioca Nation.
Not Exactly! First, the gaucho culture goes far beyond the Rio Grande do Sul state border and includes many communities in Santa Catarina, Paraná and even Mato Grosso.
@@saintpinewood562 Second, brazilian culture have many subsets and the carioca culture is, by area distribution, one of the smallest ones. Both by number of people and area, the biggest subsets of the brazilian culture are the caipira culture complex, the northeast-sertanejo culture, the gaucho-southern culture, the amazonic culture, etc. Carioca culture is highly concetrated around Rio de Janeiro city and metropolitan area.
@@saintpinewood562 Third. Not even in the state of Rio de Janeiro (RJ) the carioca culture is predominant. The state is the result of the FORCED merge of two culturally very distinct previous states (State of Rio de Janeiro, with "fluminense culture", that was, and almost currently is, closer to "mineiro culture" then"carioca culture" and the State of Guanabara, where the "carioca culture" flourished).

Gaúcho is applied to people from the Pampas, a biome from Southern South America, most notably Southern Brasil, Northern Uruguay and northern Argentina. It would be like the cowboys from the south. Rodízio was born when a waiter mistakenly took the stick straight from the grill to the table and offered a small slice so the customers could try the meat. People fell in love instantly.
The waiters are dressed as gaúchos, because churrasco comes from Rio Grande do Sul, also the restaurant you went to was funded in Rio Grande do Sul. Hope you guys enjoyed it.

The first Fogo de Chão steakhouse was opened in 1975 in the city of Porto Alegre. In the 80's the brand moved to São Paulo. In 1997, the first Fogo de Chão opened in Dallas, Texas. Today there are 52 steakhouses, 8 in Brazil, 44 in the US, Puerto Rico, Mexico and the Middle East.
Just complementing it. Fogo de Chão was purchased by a American Private Equity in 2018. By that time, it was already a company focused on the international market, not Brazil. I would recommend also go to a more traditional place. Fogo de chão is not a bad experience at all, the quality is great, but it doesn’t reflect the traditional “espeto corrido”
And it is a shame they closed the original one in Porto Alegre, it was the best churrascaria there, I remember going there when I Was a kid. In fact there are ZERO Fogo de Chão in RS...
The rodízio is not an old institution. It emerged in the southern region of Brazil during the 1960s. It started on the side of highways, next to gas stations, to attract its preferred customer: the truck driver who appeared in front of him. After three decades, it had spread to the main cities in the country and abroad. the success of the rodízio pleased Brazilians so much that it was replicated with other types of food…
9:40 it’s not only the salt and the fire that make brazilian churrasco so good, it is the meat itself that tasts delicious. I’ve living in Canada for ten years and never found a meat that tasted the same. I’m so jeaslous watching you eating this delicious food! 😋😋😋😋
You can say no to the waiters! It's okay, you can't eat everything they bring hahah And you can also ask for a specific type of meat you liked or would like to try and they'll bring it directly to you. This is my favorite type of restaurant, but it's not common for Brazilians to visit them every week or month unless you're very wealthy.
Em Curitiba, existe uma grande quantidade de churrascarias, e os preços por lá são bem mais em conta que no resto do país. Sempre que vou a Curitiba, tenho que parar numa churrascaria, :)
Hey guys, "rodizio" does not mean "all you can eat", it means that there will be a "rotation" (hence the word rodizio) of what is served, meaning, many different cuts or flavours. It is true that most rodizios are also all-you-can-eat, but that´s just a tradition. Strictly speaking, in portuguese, all-you-can-eat is "à vontade". So if you go to a buffet restaurant, for instance, you may pay for "à vontade" or by kilo, or by plate size!
Gaúchos, originally, are the cowboys of the prairies on the South. Part Brazil, part Argentina. Here in Brazil, it's also how we call the people from the State of Rio Grande do Sul.
at the end of the rotation you had to try pineapple 🍍 grilled with cinnamon, it's tasty and helps with digestion and also helps with discomfort, it's common for all Brazilians to finish with pineapple 🍍
Oh, no one taught them about the buffer plate yet. You need a second plate just for piling up the incoming meat, this way you can eat at your leasure without having to flip the card all the time, only flipping when you're done. Also you must ask for garlic bread and grilled pineapple with cinnamon. Churrascarias are very accommodating and will grill some for you if they have it.
The guy from England was super nice and he was having a good time too. I am so glad to see people from all over getting to know some of our culture and food.
Rodizio is awesome but going to a real south of Brazil Fogo de Chao do Gaucho outdoor barbecue is a diffrent and amazing experience. In Sao Paulo I would recommend going to Master Churrascaria in Praça Bento de Camargo Barros, much less expensive but still very good. Personally I enjoyed Sushi Rodizio with all the Brazilian fusion sushi things going on perhaps even more than the traditional BBQ Rodizio.
By "Fogo de Chão" with capital letters you don't mean the churrascaria chain, right? I ate the unrelated ground fire churrasco only once (these huge rib pieces on the ground fire since the early afternoon and finally served at night) and it was the most delicious meat I've ever had in my whole life, and I grew up in Rio Grande do Sul
That's some premium eating, Lil Warriors! Glad you guys got to experience a full-on rodízio. Sirloin Steve was looking a little overwhelmed with choices some moments. Chicken hearts are indeed some bouncy mofos! Gaucho boys got some mean cuts... To complete the rodízio trilogy, consider sushi and pizza. Boa, Guerreiros!
Friends, it is not impolite to eat only meat. Steakhouse is expensive for the meat. They put the other things so that we stop eating early. The ideal is to eat only the meat. And roasted pineapple at the end, to help with digestion.
It is almost a torture to upload those videos at lunch time! Brazil has the best churrasco, and I would say, of the more than 25 countries I have visited, the best food is in Brazil.
This pandemic stole my Rodízio de carne. In Rodízio you pay a single value to eat all the beef, meat, dishes, chinken, salsech and food you can.😋 Brazil is coming back soon🥰
they are dressed in typical southern brazilian clothes (from Rio Grande do Sul), and people from this state are actually called "gaúchos" so you were practically right lol
9:00 The "strip with the salt" is called fraldinha (a.k.a. bottom sirloin or flank steak), and it's one of my favorite cuts. The picanha cut is available not just for steak, but for lamb as well (another of my favorites). And during dinner hours they offer even more types of meat, including ribeye, filet mignon, lamb chops, and beef ribs (yet another favorite). The Fogo de Chao restaurants I go to in the U.S. have different side dishes from the ones you got. Rather than french fries and onion rings, I get fried polenta sticks and some fantastic cheese bread (very handy for sopping up meat juices). All in all, Fogo de Chao is the place to go when you really, really, REALLY want to indulge.
OMG it was so amazing to watch the reactions! And then the comments stopped and we just hear humm , humm , huuuuummmm , huuuummmmm… I could’t stop laughthing 😂 😂

It started on the side of highways, next to gas stations, to attract its preferred customer: the truck driver who appeared in front of it. The action became cultural and since then Brazil has been famous for its various types of food and beverage rodizio. Very happy that you enjoyed the experience. Always come back!
I always sit right out or the closest table to the kitchen door they come out of, that is the best tactic and you get the hottest cuts, as you're first in line.
"normaly" Brazilians have Churrasco once a week, on sundays. But with the prices going crazy since Covid and stuff we have it once a month and in every comemorative date or when there are some meeting with family and friends
Many cuts were missing, especially some of my favourites , like Boar( as Obelix and Asterix,😌😌), filet-mignon with garlic, "fraldinha" and Pork with cheese 😌😌
Besides Pizza, BBQ, Sushi, Pasta and Ice cream, there's also Rodízio of "Frutos do Mar" (Seafood) with fishes, shrimps, crabs and the like. You guys should definitely check it out!
This kind of restaurant born in a roadside truck drivers restaurant on the south of Brasil on the 1970's and was initially called 'espeto corrido' (steakstick running in a free translation) with the waiters passing the different kind of meat onto an 'all-included' cheap system so with the success of this kind of restaurant all over the country, those cheaper & unknow '2nd class' meat cuts like picanha or maminha had rised to the top on the people's taste.

Hey I loved the video! I never been in a Fogo de Chão Churrascaria, it's said to be the best. Very expesive for average brazilians, though. Anyway, the waiters are dressed as Gaúchos, or Pampas. Traditional people from the far south region of Brazil. The hola idea of brazilian steak houses where the waiter come at your table comes from the Rio Grande do Sul state.
this ~style of Churrasco you're eating is one of the the gaucho styles. it's the way southern Brazilians (especially the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which is the southernmost state, and are actually called "gaúchos") and this "rodizio" way of serving is usually called "espeto corrido" the "sword" is called "espeto" which is a giant oldschool skewer the waiters are indeed dressed gauchos-ish, but definitely not pirates, at least not sea ones. this one restaurant (churrascaria) in particular is not purely gaucho but surely the fundament is. those gaucho currasco restaurants are actually internationally famous the churrasco you had in São Paulo during xmas was actually pretty gaucho in many ways here's some wiki: A gaucho is a skilled horseman, reputed to be brave and unruly. The figure of the gaucho is a folk symbol of Argentina, Uruguay, Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil, and the south of Chilean Patagonia. Gauchos became greatly admired and renowned in legend, folklore, and literature and became an important part of their regional cultural tradition. Beginning late in the 19th century, after the heyday of the gauchos, they were celebrated by South American writers.

There are churrascaria all over the country. Most cities does not have Fogo de Chão, so when you will try a next, for a good choice you have to consider the high prices options. Churrascaria is not a place to save money. If you have a bugget, try to save on street food so then you can spend more at good churrascarias 🤤
What’s your strategy for eating rodizio or all-you-can-eat buffet?🤣👍
Not eating breakfast. Haha
First of all: NO Carbs hahahaha
Secondly: NO japanese food if it's a bbq joint

Order the best and most expensive cuts: Ribeye, Prime Rib, Sirloin, Picanha, Alcatra with cheese, Lamb with mint jelly and wild animals cuts: boar, rabbit, sheep. If they have available, go for Kobe and Baby beefs
Drink anything slowly and enjoy your meal.
To drink always ask for sparkling water with a bit of lemon juice and ice. This will allow you to complete the task!
Stay away from the salad bar. Get some vinagrete and farofa. Drink tap water or a caipirinha.
not eating all the stuff you guys ate before the meat hahahaha
And that's exactly the right way to leave a churrasco rodizio. Sleepy, heavy and feeling like you could never eat again in your life. Triste de tanto comer, "sad from eating too much".

@@mysteriousjz well yes, but br barbecue is world famous isnt it?
Love from Pakistan 🇵🇰 ❤️
@@arsnakehert Correct, I meant the real deal with ground fire and big pieces of beef rib
Thanks for sharing this wonderful video.
How much was d bbq for two? I can still remember u guys had steak at, if I'm not mistaken, at Victoria station in KL during, was it Steve's b'day?
Bro, you can find this halal in KL. At Bife Steakhouse in LINC KL Jalan Ampang. Rm89 per head.
@@BeyfighterFaris Wonderful. I'll check d place out when I'm in KL. 🙂
It is like cawboy from the traditional south of Brazil and they are gauchos very proud of their way to dress
Vocês são incríveis, gosto muito do canal!!
Ainda bem que assisti esse vídeo comendo se não iria ficar com fome. 😂😂😂
here in my city, in the past, they served barbecue on the floor, with wooden skewer, it was so tastefull, especially at weddings
OMG it was so amazing to watch the reactions! And then the comments stopped and we just hear humm , humm , huuuuummmm , huuuummmmm… I could’t stop laughthing 😂 😂
Food looks delicious!! Keep safe, healthy and happy.
Guys great video! you can ask for your favourite cuts, they will bring right away…dont have to wait to them come to your table!
Amo esse vídeo
Hello, Ivana and Steve! The rodizio is not an old institution. It emerged in the south of Brazil during the 1960s. It started on the side of highways, next to gas stations, to attract its preferred customer: the truck driver who appeared in front of it. The action became cultural and since then Brazil has been famous for its various types of food and beverage rodizio. Very happy that you enjoyed the experience. Always come back!
Guys, you need to keep the card in a place were the waiters can see it.
Not under your glass or covered by your plate 😜🍽️🥛
Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay are all carnivore heaven -- with the best grass-fed meat in the world.
Uruguay meat is different from Brazil
Usually on rodízios they serve baked pineapple with cinnamon to relieve the stomach.
I always sit right out or the closest table to the kitchen door they come out of, that is the best tactic and you get the hottest cuts, as you're first in line.
That's the perfect formula, Steve, you got it: Just Beef and Fried Bananas!!!!!!!!!! Thats what I do too.
I cracked up when he said: "oh my gosh! you flip it and they come!"😂😂
Comida incrível, video perfeito
"normaly" Brazilians have Churrasco once a week, on sundays. But with the prices going crazy since Covid and stuff we have it once a month and in every comemorative date or when there are some meeting with family and friends
I used to go to a churrasco rodízio for lunch on Fridays once a month back when I lived in Brazil, oh how I miss that
@@kronop8884 where are you living now?
@@Lord-ly2xr Europe, I’m from Europe but spent three years in Brazil. Did the Sunday churrasco with friends as well, a very nice tradition

Very interesting 👍.Yvanka is very relaxed now. She was so nervous in her first day in Sao Paulo
There's nothing like it! Take my word.
CHURRASCOOOOOO 😋😋🤤
Many cuts were missing, especially some of my favourites , like Boar( as Obelix and Asterix,😌😌), filet-mignon with garlic, "fraldinha" and Pork with cheese 😌😌
Besides Pizza, BBQ, Sushi, Pasta and Ice cream, there's also Rodízio of "Frutos do Mar" (Seafood) with fishes, shrimps, crabs and the like. You guys should definitely check it out!
That foods you guys eating make me so,so hungrrrrryyy!!
Espeto corrido was created in 1935 in Porto Alegre, actually.

Funny that I immersed myself as far as to use an imaginary napkin to clean when Steve did. Cheers, guys! Enjoy.
O churrasco brasileiro é o melhor do mundo.
U already are brazilians at barbecue restaurant! Lol
Less salad, bring me all beef 🤣
Fogo de Chão are the best! Happy you got my suggestion 😍
Eu nunca fui na Fogo de Chão, mas depois desse vídeo vou visitar, a curiosidade é sempre assim, ou ele capricharam mais porque eles estavam gravando?
I still haven’t had lunch and this video made me so hungry!
Wow! That's a brand new video! Thanks for sharing it! I really miss going to churrascarias these days! Keep up the good work, guys!
Steve felling the same all the brazilians feel when they go on a "Rodizio"
You did it rigth "Stivi"... you go to a churrascaria just for the meat...
churrasco is the best. I go at least once a weak.

There is a restaurant called MasterChef Brasil Nas Nuvens, in Lagoa here in Rio de Janeiro. The food is magnificent, I recommend it!
Rio got the perfect combination of Big City and Nature all together.
A friend I knew from Japan when he tried chicken heart for the first time he called it "Flavor Bomb".
MALAYSIANS:
You can find this halal in KL. At Bife Steakhouse in LINC KL Jalan Ampang. Rm89 per head.
Also Muito Bom in Bangsar South and Carnaval in Damansara Jaya.
The first Churrascaria was in Changkat Bukit Bintang, but it seems to have closed.
roda...rodizio...wheel of the happiness...
The Pakistan Shirt.
Brazilians and Pakistanis cultivate a common passion, the kite!
this ~style of Churrasco you're eating is one of the the gaucho styles. it's the way southern Brazilians (especially the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which is the southernmost state, and are actually called "gaúchos") and this "rodizio" way of serving is usually called "espeto corrido"
the "sword" is called "espeto" which is a giant oldschool skewer
the waiters are indeed dressed gauchos-ish, but definitely not pirates, at least not sea ones.
this one restaurant (churrascaria) in particular is not purely gaucho but surely the fundament is.
those gaucho currasco restaurants are actually internationally famous
the churrasco you had in São Paulo during xmas was actually pretty gaucho in many ways
here's some wiki:
A gaucho is a skilled horseman, reputed to be brave and unruly.
Waiting (17 minutes and going...) did you triy Cupim? it´s the "ball" at the back of the bull, very moist, very different texture and totally amazing :)

There are churrascaria all over the country. Most cities does not have Fogo de Chão, so when you will try a next, for a good choice you have to consider the high prices options.
Churrascaria is not a place to save money. If you have a bugget, try to save on street food so then you can spend more at good churrascarias 🤤
Just tell me how many stars. I wish I can go to Brazil to go churrascaria.
There are churrasqueiras all over the world. Dont need to Go abroad. But If you want, wellcome.
Hi! I work on Fogo de Chão and, the meat is perfect, everybody loves, is a fact
