Depends on the application, I mostly use to drill holes in large pieces of plastic. But I mean it definitely beats buying a chuck the price of my lathe.

Holding rotating metal pieces with PLA is extremely dangerous. The PLA will deform under the action of the centrifugal force applied to these metal jaws and this will destabilize and weaken your chuck. Frankly, this is a disaster in the making.

Sorry man. 3D printing a lathe is just a waste of plastic. Your better of just buying a real one.
