The Odyssey is my favorite minivan, and you’re right about the room, there’s so much more in a minivan than the SUV’s. Waiting for your review of the new Sienna that might change my mind.
I’ve always wanted a Sienna saw the 2021 and was about to get one until my husband said he would prefer the Honda Odyssey and after seeing your review my mind has completely shifted!! Thanks for this review 👍
My first Odyssey was the 2016. I traded it for the 2019 in July 2018. I love love my Honda Odyssey Elite and all of the options. I use the cabin watch to watch my dachshunds sleeping or stirring in the middle row. I love the adaptive cruise, the follow assist, the ability to take my foot of the break as I sit at a light, the lane assist and ‘hands free’ driving which helps keep me in my lane. It all together helps to make my road trips stress free. I am sure I left off some options but they are there and are used all the way to the unlocking the tailgate door with a slide of my foot in the air under the bumper and the vacuum cleaner. The navigator voice recognition is a huge improvement from the 2016 Odyssey. Can’t imagine trading this Odyssey. Honda would have to blow it out of the water with improvements on existing options or add unfathomable new ones plus add the recliners with foot rest in the middle row like they have in Japan’s version.
I enjoy when Raiti says "I'm gonna 'zonk' it a little bit here". It keeps the implicit respect for the carmaker while giving them feedback for the next iteration. Smooth Mr. Raiti smooth!👏
CytotoxicTrev Another advisor here, most of the recalls are to combat a speaker popping issue that's been going around all the Pilot/Passport/Odyssey models from 2019-2020. Avoid them like the plague until Honda decides to finally fix this issue.. right now the recalls are just placebo it seems. Lots of customers coming back with the same issues even after having all recalls done.
Steven Orova No, the ridgeline doesn't have the same issue. The Ridgeline has had its issues with fuel injectors like the pilots did, but its mostly a solid vehicle.
I love my Honda Odyssey. I have a 2005 and 195000 miles and it drives like a young new car. I will keep buying more as long as the engine design stays😍 My 2003 is nearing the end but she still drives! Hopefully I get approved for 2021🙏 Everyone wants a Tesla but I just want a Honda.🥰
Unfortunately I heard the new Odyssey is problematic. Doors and other bugs for 2020. I was in a market for another one for my wheelchair van but was scared away from word of issues
S M yes and mine has been. 2020 Sienna limited premium. Same cost as the elite but honestly disappointed with the birds eye view camera. Had a Chrysler Pacifica. Better camera but in two years 6 time to the shop. Electrical issues that have forever turned me off the brand and car. But the Toyota a great car. Don’t know if I’ll get the new one with the hybrid batteries. My van has to be modified for my wheelchair.
I follow all the car review guys, and they all have their strengths, but I am just blown away at how hard Raiti is grinding, releasing an unbelievable number of reviews, and unlike many channels, reviewing everyday consumer vehicles as well as the high dollar exotic stuff that is entertaining to learn about but irrelevant to the 99%. What I want to know is how he stay's in such good shape when his entire diet consists of junk food from 7-11? Minivan's are lame, no doubt. But if you've got kids, they are far superior to SUV's unless you are going into the mountains. I was not a believer until I got stuck with one at a car rental agency at midnight and loved it.
Toyota gave Honda a real challenge after they revealed the 2021 Toyota Sienna. Honda is gonna have to come back strong with the new redesigned odyssey because the new Sienna looks amazing looks like the perfect and best minivan on the planet by far!
Major flop with the new sienna is the single engine choice. A weak 2.5l 4cyl hybrid, ouch. Let's see how that really does with a full load lol. Toyota has always been very weak in the interior department. The new sienna interior is horrible, bland and just screams "boring." The real van to watch out for is the new KIA Sedona. It'll be way better built than both the honda and toyota with more features, better quality and far superior tech. KIA has a new 3.5l V6 pushing ~300HP. Watch for it...
I don't have kids, just a wife. If I had 2 kids and a dog or more, I would get a minivan. I have to say, this is the best looking minivan. And Honda has a great engine. Toyota sienna has a run for it's money because all of its 2021 minivans are hybrids, with a combined 33 mpg? Come on saving time going to the gas station and saving money with gas? But watch out, Kia is coming up quick with their minivan's, but not exactly on the same level yet as Honda or Toyota.
Not fond of the new look of Sienna. Also I'm worried about the 4 cylinder hybrid with 240hp. I will wait for the actual road test coz that has the same drive train as the higlander hybrid and its a bit sluggish.
Not really. 2021 Sienna dosent have flat folding 2nd row seats, which will hinder overall cargo space. Combined legroom and headroom is the same as the current odyssey. Not to mention the odyssey is faster and nicer to drive than the sienna.
@@xtifozzy What's worse with the new sienna is the fake awd system. Toyota replaced the previous mechanically driven awd system which worked great with a part time independent electric motor on the rear axle to provide a small amount of power to the rear wheels. Even the guy reviewing the new sienna wasnt thrilled about it and it's not worth the extra money to have that.
@Louis Ruiz dude... i think your pretty stupid sorry because, it doesnt matter about speed. It matters about comfort and how well it drives on the road. These minivans are basically all houses on wheels and there not used for tuning or being fast. Its just plain comfort.
Raiti's Rides For sure, looking forward to your review of the new Sienna when you get your hands on it. Would love to see a video about which van you think is best since there are only five new vans on the market these days: Chrysler Voyager, Chrysler Pacifica, Toyota Sienna Hybrid, Honda Odyssey, and Kia Sedona. Crazy how so many have vanished from the market as crossovers take over the landscape. Vans like the Nissan Quest, Mazda MPV, Chevrolet Uplander, Ford Freestar, Dodge Grand Caravan, and many others have been wiped out and I think a few others like the Kia Sedona are also on their way out as the van market continues to shrink.
I laughed the entire video LOL!!!!! This man will be the second reason I buy a minivan, the first reason is because we're expecting the fifth kid in a few weeks and everyone with kids know how much room one car seat alone can take up. Definitely interested in the new odyssey, its beautiful
Have you bought one? We bought a 2021 Odyssey. The huge space for all rows is amazing. Finally my three kids don’t need to sit in the cramped 2nd seat of my 2012 CRV. The new Odyssey is truly powerful, drives smoothly, and spacious!
My co-worker has this one, bad in winter it cant go out in his garage when snow up to the neck, and when you manage to come out you have a hard time going back inside your garage! he changes it to sienna with AWD, AWD really works here in Canada.
As the owner of a 19’ Touring (2nd year of a maximum 10 year family sentence). I found the 10 speed more responsive than the 9 speed ZF unit in the pilot. Having looked at the Pacifica, there second row seat padding felt thin. I’m sure that’s was due to the stow n go feature. I’ve used the magic slide seats to put my sons car seat closer to me ( driver) when we travel. Having filled up every seat in the house plus luggage, the V6 has more than enough grunt to merge on to the highway and for passing. Do I wish Honda offered a plug-in hybrid option like the Pacifica?, yes. I’m very curious to see how the hybrid powertrain in the new Sienna sounds / performs under full load. Having to hear the noise of a 4 banger in such a big vehicle doesn’t sound appealing. I’m guessing the electric motors will be doing a large chunk of the heavy lifting.
Has to be an Odyssey. Im on my Third one, first one was bought new in 2006. Still my favorite one the 2006, maybe not favorite but I liked it. They did get a touch bigger as it went on
You missed a bunch of features on the odyssey that don't exist on the other minivans. Starting with lane keeping assist, that's a most have if you drive long distance on highways or do long trips. As it will drive for you pretty much (at least in conjunction with adaptive cruise control). And the other nice feature to have is break assist that's pretty useful when living on hills or during slow traffic.
You left something out. Are the 2nd row seats removable? The 2021 Sienna's are not. Deal breaker for a minivan to me and a lot of others. Especially for camping or moving sofas and such.
I like the sienna more because it has hands free doors and parents and kids could watch tv and listen to the radio at the same time. Sienna has A LOT of updates. Sienna even tells you if your seat belt is unbuckled.
tommy13965, Look, I’ve been interested in Toyota since I was a kid because when I was born, my dad had a 2007 Toyota Sequoia Limited. The thing with Indians are they only like Honda and Toyota because THERY’RE RELIABLE. So, I just explained that my last name does not give anything away. And yes I’m a 13 year old (I know you gonna say no one asked). I’m just IN to cars.
I’m an owner of both Honda and Toyota vehicles. 4 Honda’s total and 3 Toyota’s. Honda beats Toyota in fun and easy to drive with better feeling on the gas pedal. Interior is also usually better. Toyota beats Honda in reliability and fuel economy. I hate the gas pedal feel on Toyota, it’s not smooth and jerks even with a light tap on the gas. However for the new vans, I’ll say the Toyota is a better choice because of the crazy fuel efficiency.
I've got a 2006 Midnight Blue Metallic EX-L that's still going strong until today! Bought it the day after my son turned 1. Gone through 2 paint jobs because we all know how crappy Honda's water-based paints are. Still original AT with 156K miles. I own 4 Honda's and my minivan always hits my sweet spot.
Since 2016, Ive thought the Pilot and the Odyssey were similar.. its just ones an SUV and the other is an Minivan. Honda needs to bring back the box style Pilot.. they were great cars. I still have an 09 with 120k miles, still runs fine.
no boxy style...just a more sexy rear end! front was always nice looking.....honda could go for rugged but class for the next acura suv maybe? like a G wagen competitor for like way less
Joe, this one here is a stunner. A minivan. Stunner. Yes. Next gen it needs either a hybrid powertrain and/or AWD though. Took my lowly Civic in for service and had to go take an Odyssey Elite for a test drive. It means business!!! Great review as usual Joe. 💪🏽🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨🔥❤👍🏼#RaitisRides #OnThrottle #ToTheDoorPanel #TwinkiesForDays #OnThrottleAgain #CrownVic #RoadTripMachine #TeamHonda
GREAT review. This practicality and powerful V6 is what families want, not weak hybrid engine. The 2011-2020 Sienna and 2013-2021Honda Odyssey design also look a lot better than 2021 Toyota Sienna. Toyota tried too hard on the 2021 model. No 2nd row seat removal. Weak engine and loud cabin. UGLY rear fender lines and overall a fat ***. Big turn offs on the new Sienna. Good MPG? Not good enough with that terrible drivetrain! We need power and practicality on a mini van! Not MPG! Not CVT! Not EXPENSIVE battery replacement!
Haha I have the 2019 one, it’s great, but sometimes when I accelerate even the slightest bit in drive, the rpms go up to like 5k 😂 but it’s such a great minivan, definitely faster then most people think!
Ok , I like the Sienna better, but.... You really point out what you get for your money when you head out to the dealership. Its not all about what I am paying, I want to know what I am paying for! And this is what your channel is best at, if I knew a salesman like you, I would be more at ease with my purchase when I understand what I bought and what I paid for.
Another great video Joe, that’s why I’m a big fan! As for the Odyssey and other Honda’s I wish they would change the infotainment screen. I have a 2019 CR-V and Civic, so sluggish and not a fan. Also why do car manufacturers waste money putting paddle shifters on vehicles that aren’t fast, use that money somewhere else. Cheers
Agreed from the aspect of when they go out. But, its been a long standing tradition that all V6 Hondas get struts. The V6 Accord always had em when the 4s didn't. Acuras have em, I think the pilot used to have em. I like props but the struts used to be tradition.
Don't be shocked if you see a Honda Odyssey pull on a Mercedes C-class. The Odyssey does 5-60 in 6.7s, a Mercedes C300 sedan takes 7.1s. Turbo-lag kills the Benz, while the Odyssey is all about displacement and a *quick* in-house 10-speed transmission.
The inside looks really small compared to the pacifica review you did. Also this one looks real low and stiff. Love honda seating position but there just to stiff and you feel every bump. Pacifica better. Great seating position too with comfy balanced ride.
My 2003 middle seats used to go all the way down...I hate my new honda after the first week. Cleaning is a pain, that middle thing should slide all the way back to clean in between seats...I really regret spending 45k. So the one he's showing will round up to 55k. Honda needs a lot of improvement in this new model.
One thing that Toyota owners should look at - compare the base models- EX vs LE. I switched from Toyota to Honda a few years ago, I’ve been told the difference is that Toyota starts with the top model design and decide what to remove for the other trim levels. It’s true. Honda does the opposite, they make a great base model and add to it. Look at what you get with the Odyssey EX , you get a lot. With the Sienna LE you don’t even get a Smart Key. I was shocked, I haven’t had a vehicle without a proximity key since about 2013. In 2021 Toyota still doesn’t offer this on the base model, wow! There are other features that they removed as well that seem to be standard with Honda.
The new KIA Sedona is going to sell like hot cakes. Way better built, more reliable, way more features and the list goes on. The 2nd row seats on the Sedona alone make the odyssey look like a bucket rental. Just wait and see...
I just traded my 14 Accord for a 2020 Odyssey EX-L , once you get over the fact that it's a "mini van" it's a super comfortable practical family car. I got a little over 30 mpg's on a trip to white mountains and have had it for a month ...usable 3rd row and more comfortable than any SUV I have driven .......I drove a Denali XL and that is the only thing that is close as far as size and comfort but the fuel economy isn't even in the same ballpark......yes you get four-wheel drive and it will tow 8000 lb instead of 3500 but if you don't need either one of those things.....it doesn't matter ...... And as for the all-wheel drive I live in New England and don't give a s***.......I've been driving for 25 years and there's probably been a handful of times that I would get stuck in a front-wheel drive car and not an all-wheel drive car.......I will take the mpgs and Honda reliability ......everyone that owns one says the same thing ........they LOVE them ..... Not the most stylish thing but you can't get more practical and it's super comfortable! I can't say enough about this thing ! And yeh .....I was someone who said I would never own a minivan until I decided practically (2 yr old and 5 month old twins ) over a slightly "cooler" SUV that had very few real world advantages over this thing ! Oh and lastly .....2nd row holds legitimately 3 car seats w out even using the 3 Rd row.
Interesting the elite doesn't come with a rear panoramic sunroof. I bet they're doing subtle changes getting rdy to introduce a whole new 2022 or 23 design. 22 Civic already giving us an idea on what to expect
The Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna, I would buy either without hesitation. However, I think the new Sienna is a newer model and it rocks, while the Odyssey is just a tweak on the older design - still not bad though.

It will be interesting Richard.
I’ve always wanted a Sienna saw the 2021 and was about to get one until my husband said he would prefer the Honda Odyssey and after seeing your review my mind has completely shifted!! Thanks for this review 👍
I am so glad that I can share this Honda with you!
Thanks for saying that and letting me share it with you!
I'm a service advisor at a Honda dealer and boy the amount of recalls on the new Odysseys is such a headache :'(
Anything majorly jacked up with the powertrain? Or just minor stuff here and there?
CytotoxicTrev Another advisor here, most of the recalls are to combat a speaker popping issue that's been going around all the Pilot/Passport/Odyssey models from 2019-2020. Avoid them like the plague until Honda decides to finally fix this issue.. right now the recalls are just placebo it seems. Lots of customers coming back with the same issues even after having all recalls done.
AA , do these recalls also apply to the Ridgeline?
Steven Orova No, the ridgeline doesn't have the same issue. The Ridgeline has had its issues with fuel injectors like the pilots did, but its mostly a solid vehicle.
You are a servant for European junk Auto makers ... you would sell you own mother for the right price as it seems.
Love the video man. I can finally relate to one of the cars. My dad owns a 2012 Odyssey. Keep up the great work man!!
I am so glad that you like this one! Thanks for being so supportive!
unless you need to tow something heavy, you really can't beat a minivan for road trips - they're just so damn comfortable.
I gotta say, one of the funniest reviews I’ve seen on RR. 😂 THIS is why many of us tune in every day. Congrats on your 300K subscribers Joe!
Love the Odyssey ride quality and V6 engine, but need the AWD for Canada winter.
This is true!

The best minivan on the market is the Honda Odyssey and it just got a little better
Couldn't have said it any better!

So very true!
Great review Joe! Between this facelifted Odyssey and the new 2021 Toyota Sienna Hybrid which would you recommend?
It's tough because I have to see the Sienna in person.

ONLY, A TOYOTA SIENNA!!!
Only, a FORD SHELBY GT350 or GT500!!!
Toyota's Only!!!
Been an Odyssey fan for awhile now. Had the 06, 17 and now 19. Still waiting for them to come out with an awd.

Best looking minivan! Did I spot a pull-up sunshade on the rear side window? Thanks for sharing it Joe. Nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
You are so very welcome Larry!
Expensive but pretty impressive with lots of features.
I need more mini-van reviews! I got [not 12] kids! But we do love our 2018 Odyssey.
Is minivan good driving in snow?
Has to be an Odyssey. Im on my Third one, first one was bought new in 2006. Still my favorite one the 2006, maybe not favorite but I liked it. They did get a touch bigger as it went on

Have they figured out how to solve the rust on the rear fender????
I like the sienna more because it has hands free doors and parents and kids could watch tv and listen to the radio at the same time. Sienna has A LOT of updates. Sienna even tells you if your seat belt is unbuckled.
We all know why you chose the Toyota over a Honda your last name gave it away.
tommy13965, Look, I’ve been interested in Toyota since I was a kid because when I was born, my dad had a 2007 Toyota Sequoia Limited. Odyssey also detects the seat belt.
Best explanation of a car man gotta get a raise
Low-key this van looks kinda fire 🔥👀
How’s the MPG compare with the *hybrid* Siena? Moms drive a lot and hate having to refill the tank too often...

You should cover the rust problem with the Honda have they fixed this?
You said middle seats fold down, why did you not demonstrate the fold and go seats of the middle row?
This is my favorite minivan! Good job Joe.
So Joe, does the honda v6 still have a timing belt or did they go with a chain? The timing belt is a definite Zonk!
Chain
I'm going to buy the 2021 Pacifica in Pinnacle trim. Can't wait for it to come out! AWD or hybrid is the only question...
I wish this had a all wheel drive option
AGREED!
Sienna, new Chrysler Pacifica have AWD
AWD (and the extra 1,500 lbs of towing in AWD) is really the only reason I would buy a Pilot over the Odyssey.

Your sense of humor had me DYING!!!! #GUACISEXTRA Thank you for this my man.
Since 2016, Ive thought the Pilot and the Odyssey were similar.. its just ones an SUV and the other is an Minivan.
Honda needs to bring back the box style Pilot.. they were great cars. I still have an 09 with 120k miles, still runs fine.
It will be interesting to see what Honda does!
no boxy style...just a more sexy rear end! front was always nice looking.....honda could go for rugged but class for the next acura suv maybe? like a G wagen competitor for like way less
I would absolutely buy a min van either honda or kia IF they had awd. They really need to start making awd standard on mini vans.
AGREED!
Wait a min. Top trim level does not have roof rack?
Isn't that crazy!
It's now an option on all trims. I have an Odyssey and don't miss it, id rather have a hitch with a cargo tray
The roof part of Honda design has not change still the curve part on the rear side. Can Honda redesign it please. Thank you 🙏
That is a very good point Jenneth.
@@RaitisRides Not sure why AWD is still missing on the odyssey. Do you think one can do without it or is it necessary especially when it snows?
Joe, this one here is a stunner. A minivan. Stunner. Yes. Next gen it needs either a hybrid powertrain and/or AWD though. Took my lowly Civic in for service and had to go take an Odyssey Elite for a test drive. It means business!!! Great review as usual Joe. 💪🏽🚗💨💨💨💨💨💨🔥❤👍🏼#RaitisRides #OnThrottle #ToTheDoorPanel #TwinkiesForDays #OnThrottleAgain #CrownVic #RoadTripMachine #TeamHonda
I totally agree with you!
There's a part of me that has always wanted a minivan just for me. It's a great adventure vehicle.
The cargo space is amazing, I absolutely love it
One thing I love about minivans is how My knees don’t Crush themselves into the seat in the third row like an SUV would
Still using timing belt? Toyota has long been using chain and hybrid too plus awd.
Is this van not fuel injection? Not sure I understand the Naturally Asperated part
Naturally asperated means not a turbo or super charger. So, just a normal engine.
Can the Odyssey hold 4' x 8' sheet goods (drywall and plywood) laid flat in the back section?
My 2006 sure can. I bet the new ones do also.
No discussing the Honda sensing? Is it updated for '21?
Haha I have the 2019 one, it’s great, but sometimes when I accelerate even the slightest bit in drive, the rpms go up to like 5k 😂 but it’s such a great minivan, definitely faster then most people think!
3 years ago, I get 21' Honda Odyssey minivan.
No 360 camera and AWD optionS?
Ok , I like the Sienna better, but.... You really point out what you get for your money when you head out to the dealership. Its not all about what I am paying, I want to know what I am paying for! And this is what your channel is best at, if I knew a salesman like you, I would be more at ease with my purchase when I understand what I bought and what I paid for.
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Even got the mini Van's love it, need some wheels and a body kit I'm in
Another great video Joe, that’s why I’m a big fan! Cheers
What’s good my dude? Nice review not big fan of vans but big fan o raitis rides
Hey brother! That means the most!
Does it have all wheel drive?????
🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Could you please tell me the Apple Carplay is wireless or not?
Did I miss you talking about the magic slide seats in the second row? It’s a huge selling point for kids in car seats.
Why zonk the hood prop? No one wants to mess with the struts after they go out!! I love the prop.
Agreed from the aspect of when they go out. But, its been a long standing tradition that all V6 Hondas get struts. The V6 Accord always had em when the 4s didn't. Acuras have em, I think the pilot used to have em. I like props but the struts used to be tradition.
Great review! How about testing the more affordable EX?
AS ALWAYS...LOVE how you keep a cornucopia of different vehicles you feature....LOVE IT!!!!!!!
Sienna rules! PERIOD
Does the Honda Odyssey still have transmission problems?
Not that I know of.
When you realize even minivan's have shift paddles: Wow, BMW needs to step it up LOL! BMW's shift paddles are not the best to say the least...
I know right!
Shift paddles, shift paddles! Who really needs them.
@Rvqsx haha. Those are becoming hard to find.
We don't get this 3.5L Odyssey in Australia. We don't even get the Sienna. The Tarago/Previa is really aged and have not been updated for a long time.
Thanks for sharing that great input and perspective!
I’m not a fan of minivans AT ALL, but this is legit!!!!
Thanks for letting me share it with you Renee!
Sienna and Odyssey have their own ups and downs.. but 2021 Sienna send like a better choice.
Very informative video ! Liked and subbed .. couldn’t said any better , Honda Odyssey best minivan on the market
Hey joe would you buy a highlander or a 2 year old Lexus RX
I wonder how the new Kia Sedona will compare to the odyssey
I can't wait!
The new KIA Sedona is going to sell like hot cakes. Way better built, more reliable, way more features and the list goes on. The 2nd row seats on the Sedona alone make the odyssey look like a bucket rental. Just wait and see...
@@alohaduck3530 Indeed.
Do you know how the sti 2021 gonna looks like yet
They are saying it is getting pushed back to 2022.
Raiti's Rides ohh 😮 thanks I love your vid in learning a lot about cars 🙏🏽
I wish they bring back the analog speedometer and actual shift paddle and hand brake for much easier usage
Interesting the elite doesn't come with a rear panoramic sunroof. I bet they're doing subtle changes getting rdy to introduce a whole new 2022 or 23 design. 22 Civic already giving us an idea on what to expect
i am still waiting for Hybrid with dual cam engine, rear electric motor each side.
It would help the torque and save much more gas.
Thanks for te review men i like this mini van from Honda Raiti. I like too see Tampa again i hope too come there back next year!
That would be awesome!
The Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna, I would buy either without hesitation. However, I think the new Sienna is a newer model and it rocks, while the Odyssey is just a tweak on the older design - still not bad though.
Thanks Joe for many great reviews 🙏.
In your opinion or which one would you buy? Odyssey or Sienna
I am going Odyssey
I love when he say "on throttle!!!!!"
They tried to stop people from going the... Sienn-ic route, eh? 😂
They tried but reliability won out. The Honda had a lot of issues just like the Chrysler Pacifica.
Good MPG?
