Bought an '87 442 new and still have it. He's right about the paint as they sucked off the assembly line. An obvious respray as the paint is too good, but obvious because the stripes don't fit the paint job. After market stripes are clear backed, not backed by body color as oem were so you can see the stripes are too high above the silver bottom. The door edge guards are not stock either. Calling it a four forty two makes my stomach turn... get real dude.

Wow! At 6:42 that sound is awesome! I would love to have one of these and have it all modified so that its super quick and the performance matched the looks a little more.

You can buy a paint gauge to see how much paint is on the car. The factory puts a certain amount of paint on cars.

Cutlass Supreme from this era is a granny car that is slow as hell. A 442 is a reasonably fast muscle car version of the Cutlass Supreme. 442 has a high output 307 V8,3:73:1 posi rear end, standrd guage package, sport bucket seats, console shifter, dual exhaust, sport suspension, and a high stall torque converter in the transmission. The 442 engine, modified transmission, rear end ratio, and dual exhaust were not available on regular Cutlass Supremes.

Same weak 307 engine with better rear end with lower 3.73 axle ratio and dual exhaust splitters that did improve HP some what. But still only a 17 second car. The car was beginning for a 1972 rocket 350

King nill V well I think the stock motor produces around 240-260 hp?
The low end torque is high though in the 300 plus range 💪

I have owned one for 28 years - Great cars, but dreadfully slow. DREADFULLY. Compared to my 69 SS Camaro it is embarassing ..I am putting a 455 High Performance Olds motor in this summer and looking forward to it. The Transmission is rebuilt and hopefully it can handle this new horsepower. The 307 motor is DREADFUL...
