Great video! I 'm 64 years old now and I played there around 20 years ago but I remember my parents speaking of their fondness for dancing at the Locarno back in the day. This is part of our Liverpool heritage, just like the Liver Buildings or St George's Hall, and we should ensure that it is cared for so that future generations can enjoy it.
Lovely film - mum used to tell me about the elephants, and then later used to go when it was a Bingo Hall with her where she pointed out the elephant statues on the wall. Brought back lovely memories.
This is great, I wondered what it was like in the basement. Such an interesting history. My Mum and her friends used to dance there every Saturday in the ‘50s… wish there was footage of that.

This documentary is a joke it's a disgrace inside now 2 what it was years ago it smells of damp I went in last November it needs rebuild an the Grafton 2 it's sad that looks OK out side but not in the website shows how it was years ago but truth it's a mess the toilets are filthy since I went in November outside looks OK

Just been to a gig at the Olympia. What a fantastic venue and the staff were fantastic. So happy that Liverpool still has this wonderful building.
