Vanguard is my favourite ship atm, I found madden to be a lot more effective than Cunningham. I also find bow tanking (it bounces shells well) in it to be effective as well, even if it means you can’t always use the rear guns.

@@Berserker_4517 I'd argue instead of both Russian bb commanders just use galler and William Tennant with the reduced damage to your citadel. I don't know if the damage reduction from Tennant and the Azur lane Nelson's bb damage reduction perks stack but I feel like they do. Citadels just don't hurt that much, I mean they still hurt but not as bad really. This allows me to use all 4 guns with a smaller punishing return fire.

I decided to try this ship out recently, almost sold it but gave it the benefit of the doubt and took some time to spec it and trial things and its actually a very good ship but you need a good dispersion and grouping build with this ship
Hey Spartan, At 7:46 (approx) you mention taking out the IOWA in a tank build to see if you can uncover a bug in dispersion builds. What became of that research?
When I roll with the tank build, I pretty much always decline to use the "Brawler" skill. I don't find that the ~2 second quicker reload is enough of a perk to give up 1.5km of range. You could have a 22 second reload with close to 17.5km range, and quicker reloading damage control if you select the other option.
It's funny you say that because I usually like to play the Belfast and I've noticed that since the last update I'm taking a lot more damage and getting lower damage games change something and all the ships
This is going to be rather wordy, you were warned....🤪 Having watched this video more than once I think the HMS Vanguard is a much better ship than what’s been said. Each ship has a signature or personality so to speak. The trick is to find the best path to making it work and granted we all have our favorite line of ships and/or designs. It’s all about preference, right? Today I had my best-ever match in the HMS Vanguard. Two-thirds of the match was not pretty. In fact it was so ugly we had only one way to go and preferably not in the direction of Davey Jones’ Locker. One ship at a time . How bad was it? Well, we were losing rather horribly. I felt more like the ‘85 Patriots in Super Bowl XX against those Chicago Bears...which ended in a 46-10 destruction. My team lost 7 of 9 ships and two caps (B&C) leaving only me in the Vanguard and an Odin. I can’t say enough about that Odin player, we didn’t verbally communicate but he or she seemed to know what I was going to do and vice versa. The enemy was a bit scary with 2 Cleveland’s, a completely healthy Vladivostok (a leviathan with those 16-inch guns) and a Jaguar...a destroyer....that’s wonderful 🙄 That’s a 4-2 disadvantage in ship numbers w/torpedoes on the enemy side. To quote Spartan Elite 43 : “not preferable” 😜 We found ourselves alone on C-cap, almost by accident, and took it immediately, just after the thundering voice from beyond said “The Enemy Team Is About To Win” We ain’t dead yet. We’re just mostly dead but slightly alive. Maybe, just maybe the Odin & I could go from those ‘85 Patriots mentioned earlier, to the ‘16 Patriots or the ‘04 Red Sox....maybe. The Odin & I followed the first rule of Top Gun, which is to NEVER leave your wing man. While cautiously proceeding to “B” cap, on the way I encountered an almost perfectly healthy destroyer in the form of a Jaguar....which explains why we were so behind on that scoreboard in the first place. Well, salvo 1 from yours truly removed about 95% of its health and salvo 2 sent this particular Jaguar back to the dealer. 3-2 : a lot better than being down 4-2 and NObmore torp concerns. Whew! Next up was a Cleveland that went from very healthy to terminally ill, thanks to the Odin who caused it to flee in my direction of which I was more than happy this Cleveland to the morgue. 2-2 ....much, much better, still have that Vlad though. Scoreboard is also looking better. When we both arrived on “B” cap the other half-healthy Cleveland awaited us and we gladly sent this Cleveland to the lower depths of Lake Erie... 2-1 in our favor....scoreboard is looking even better. Vlad likely awaits in “C” need a plan. I can’t speak for that Odin but I know I was really starting to feel like the ‘16 Patriots, down by as much as 25 points in the 3rd quarter, to the Falcons, in Super Bowl LI. But we had the Vladivostok waiting for us in “C” cap....and those dangerous guns. The Odin went far to my right in an attempt to flank the Vlad while I carefully bow-tanked it. I relied on my front turrets ONLY. I managed to be sure to aim millimeters above the Vlad’s water line, and got a 22,000 point citadel, while the Odin was blessing the Vlad with HE. It had 3 fires started, and was stuck with at least one (almost constant) fire. I was using nothing but AP. The Vlad turned away and I gave chase while the Odin shadowed us from an advantageous angle. I permanently knocked out the Vlad’s rear turret, and kept peppering the the leviathan with my front guns and some secondaries, while the Odin (staying safely behind me) rained more hell-fire than the Ghost Rider. The Vlad burned and re-burned...and burned. I took some damage but zero citadels. That was the only way to win. Finally a salvo of AP from the Odin, delivered a hammer-like blow that would have made Thor proud to be Odin’s son. I was glad the Odin got credit for the kill. As the Vladivostok slowly descended down to Atlantis, the Odin & I were part of a come-from behind win for our mostly deleted but slightly alive team, and I can say that I now understand, a little bit, what those ‘16 Patriots must have felt reversing a 28-3 3rd quarter deficit into a 34-28 OT win in Super Bowl LI. I took the top spot on the leader board with 165,000+ points of damage (a personal high) along with 4 ships sunk and 2 citadels; while the Odin took second with 2 ships deleted. That’s 6 of 9 ships sunk by two players. Not THAT unusual, I know, but the circumstances made this more profound. Teamwork, something that can be a rare thing in WoW Legends from time to time, is a great thing when it happens THAT well. Channels like Spartan’s do very much entertain, but these videos also instruct in a fun way. It’s because of that dynamic, that I learned and continue to learn many things has made me a smarter player. The HMS Vanguard and I seem to get along very well in our matches together, and though there are various but justified complaints regarding British battleships, I seem to have achieved my two best games in the HMS Warspite (my only Kraken of 5 kills) and now the HMS Vanguard for some reason. This was a great video which displays the ship’s capabilities and its issues along with the always hilarious color commentary. 😜
Pretty much all of my battleships except Queen Elizabeth and the Japanese (excluding Fuso because shotgun ship with all of those turrets) ones I run as tank builds.
With such a high fire chance for the shells I think the azure lane Nelson commander would be perfect for this ship. I use her on my king George, Queen Elizabeth and Nelson.
She is much more tolerable with azure lane Nelson but still the shortcomings in a battleship vs battleship is still there just a bit more reasonable. But if you face a cruiser well thats a guarantee win. My AP shell dmg with my vanguard is 15k. About a week ago I got three citadels on a hipper(full health) and 2 on an Atago (3/4 health) and wiped them out in a single salvo in the same game. I was accused of cheating and using aimbot.
What's your thoughts on using the AL commander for the British line? I've been moving away from the dispersion lately and have been enjoying the brawlers.
Started off with Madden at lvl 16 but switched to Cunningham after realising the range is just too short and makes you target number one when all your teammates in their BB back up out of range. The extra heals are no help as generally you end up dead before you can use them all
This is my favourite ship but I like it more with Andrew Cunningham and you probably don’t believe me but I got three citidels on a broadside of a Vladivostok
So it really depends all premium ships are good credit makers but at the same time its gonna depend on your play i prefer Marblehead or my Arkansas but also the higher the tier the better it becomes but almost any premium thats between tier 4-6are usually really good money makers
Yeah I use Charles Madden as commander and he's at rank 15 with Legendary 2 Inspiration :- Robert Juajard Jollique ( Don't know the name but it's a British Commander) Well the dispersion in my game is the worst I always get 60k to 70k damage ☹️Not happy One more u guys have premium But I dont have it and get -170k with only 10k or less profit by playing with it
I played this game when it first came out and grinded the Vangaurd only to find out it was the worst teir 7 at the time. Smallest guns, least amount of them, lowest range, and. no British heal
Yeah i highly recommend switching to the Xbox 360 power supply and buying the adapter to fit xbox one. The original xbox one power supply has problems with fan dying

Beautiful game that one and with the carriers coming i'm definitely gonna play it again, i just wish there was the ability to get out of the pilot seat and walk around on your ship, alone or with a friend, something like that would make the game so much more immersive, i have an Anaconda and that thing is huge, imagine having a detailed interior with living quarters and all that, an area that you can hang out it when you are taking a break from all the long ass flying.

Using the Nelson hentai commander turns this into a monster. Since I got Nelson to rank 16 I've run it on all of my British BBs and theyve become my favorite line. I slapped a bow tanking Iowa for 13k in one salvo with HE from a Hood. After that I was like "Yep, this is it. This is what i needed" LoL

I need to re-purchase my vanguard. It's a terrible ship that can be fun to play. Edit: my dispersion has gone to shit also recently. The vanguard is the only ship I hate in my hipper. Those ap short fuse are evil.
They did its a known glitch. Once they pass through an island like that they become null and do not impact the target. Thats when you see people getting shells that splash water in the middle of your ship
I do love the game but am disappointed that the nation that is historically known for It’s navy struggles to compete with most of it’s ships. I still play almost exclusively British though as I am British and I have got close to 200,000 damage in the Vanguard.
Rn dds are incredible , cl are meh, bbs are shit after t5 Rn t5 bb is a beast. USA/ijn bb are god tier, ca are meh usa dds are not fun, ijn dd are god tier. Russia and german ca are god tier, German bb sucks dd is decent. Russian bb is god tier t7 dd is shit. French bb is incredible.

You can tell by the patches how much of a potatoe they are. I find in general ppl with the standered patches tend to stick to the back or show broadside trying to use all guns showing your belly to everyone lolololol. Noobs 😄😄😄🙈 i used to do it tho haha all learning but i highly recomend noob players staying away from tier 6-7 as i find thats where the most advanced players are so the games can be sweaty if your a noob player your iether gunna get wrecked quick or your team will lose as your hiding or running off to edge of map or whatever lol
Nooooooooooooo. I am always running a tank build. Except for my Vladi, and my Alabama. My other T7 BS is Odin and Roma, and Odin wrecks everything no matter what they are
@@SpartanElite43 that doesn't really work considering ap is the main armament of any ship, if it was like wot & there was a premium armor piercing then yeah I'd agree with that but since ap is standard & doesn't get as much damage on some ship's like H.E Doe's, even if you get good ap perk commander, also I've run into more H.E & torpedo spammer's than ap user's, so I don't what to tell you there.
@@jasonbrody1134 its all about using what works and adapting to the current meta! The game would be so much fun if everyone used Ammo correctly but that is a dream. In reality folks will gravitate towards the easiest playstyle to make them feel good about their play. At the end of the day it is a game and a challenge! Good players will adapt and overcome!

AL Nelson is the way to go with this ship. You get all the benefits of an accuracy build, but with master mechanic, on top of a 16% shell damage buff.
I use her on Nelson, KGV and Queen Elizabeth with both Russian BB commanders as inspirations.

I've been using the exact same commander build on Vanguard and KGV, it seems to really work well.

Queen is reliable the guns rarely disapoint. But shes knowhere near as tough as iron duke.
KGV has been my favorite battleship next to the Nelson.

But for QE I highly recommend dispersion build using Cunningham as the AP is highly effective at tier 5

Hi,,i use captain nelson with hipper and cunningham as inspirations,,it works well. Against fire damage and damage in general
You do know you can't stern tank in vanguard due to that flat chunk on the stern it's easy to delete vangaurds when they run away
Its not preferable but I had to try and turn away

Does anyone have recommendations for premium ships that are credit makers?
So it really depends all premium ships are good credit makers but at the same time its gonna depend on your play i prefer Marblehead or my Arkansas but also the higher the tier the better it becomes but almost any premium thats between tier 4-6are usually really good money makers

I played this game when it first came out and grinded the Vangaurd only to find out it was the worst teir 7 at the time. Smallest guns, least amount of them, lowest range, and. no British heal

My xbox one power supply unit overheated and popped 4 weeks ago, new one is coming in today, can't wait to sail my beautiful girls again.
Yeah i highly recommend switching to the Xbox 360 power supply and buying the adapter to fit xbox one.

Odd question, great video as always, but have thought of returning to Elite Dangerous recently and just curious if you ever think of returning? Know not a lot of extra time but just wondering if crossed your mind as it has mine with coming carriers update

Beautiful game that one and with the carriers coming i'm definitely gonna play it again, i just wish there was the ability to get out of the pilot seat and walk around on your ship, alone or with a friend, something like that would make the game so much more immersive, i have an Anaconda and that thing is huge, imagine having a detailed interior with living quarters and all that, an area that you can hang out it when you are taking a break from all the long ass flying.

Using the Nelson hentai commander turns this into a monster. Since I got Nelson to rank 16 I've run it on all of my British BBs and theyve become my favorite line. I slapped a bow tanking Iowa for 13k in one salvo with HE from a Hood. After that I was like "Yep, this is it. This is what i needed" LoL

Edit: my dispersion has gone to shit also recently. The vanguard is the only ship I hate in my hipper. Those ap short fuse are evil.

Possible, but i think the shells just barely missed the island
They did its a known glitch. Once they pass through an island like that they become null and do not impact the target.
Thats when you see people getting shells that splash water in the middle of your ship

I do love the game but am disappointed that the nation that is historically known for It’s navy struggles to compete with most of it’s ships. I still play almost exclusively British though as I am British and I have got close to 200,000 damage in the Vanguard.

USA/ijn bb are god tier, ca are meh usa dds are not fun, ijn dd are god tier.
Russia and german ca are god tier, German bb sucks dd is decent. Russian bb is god tier t7 dd is shit.

You can tell by the patches how much of a potatoe they are. I find in general ppl with the standered patches tend to stick to the back or show broadside trying to use all guns showing your belly to everyone lolololol. Noobs 😄😄😄🙈 i used to do it tho haha all learning but i highly recomend noob players staying away from tier 6-7 as i find thats where the most advanced players are so the games can be sweaty if your a noob player your iether gunna get wrecked quick or your team will lose as your hiding or running off to edge of map or whatever lol

@@SpartanElite43 that doesn't really work considering ap is the main armament of any ship, if it was like wot & there was a premium armor piercing then yeah I'd agree with that but since ap is standard & doesn't get as much damage on some ship's like H.E Doe's, even if you get good ap perk commander, also I've run into more H.E & torpedo spammer's than ap user's, so I don't what to tell you there.

The game would be so much fun if everyone used Ammo correctly but that is a dream.
In reality folks will gravitate towards the easiest playstyle to make them feel good about their play.
At the end of the day it is a game and a challenge! Good players will adapt and overcome!
