But I think that the judge has acted carefully and with restraint and an appeals court will see that the disruptions and delays and his own incompetence are fully generated by him. The result is likely to be the quickest denial of an appeal on record.

This judge is outstanding. She’s patient but firm. She has also given the defendant ample time to voice objections and given him incredible flexibility in the courtroom. That is unfortunately necessary to avoid any risk of appeal WHEN he is convicted and sentenced.
Theoretically, no money is being wasted except gas to and from the prison. They are all salaried employees. With that said, it’s slowing down the docket. More of opportunity time wasted.

He is representing himself. He’s been removed to a separate courtroom so he can’t verbally disrupt the proceedings (the judge can mute him and unmute him) but in order to avoid an appeal possibly being successful for denial of due process, she is doing all she can to enable him to mount his own defense and participate in the process. If he had an attorney representing him, removing him from the process entirely would be much simpler.
I really don’t understand why the judge allows this joker to appear pro se (or pro per as he insists). Assign him a defense team. Plant him in another room to observe. Our American women must be pretty hard up for love if a Darrell Brooks is the best they can do. I would hate to see the ones these women rejected as not being 'good enough'.

As entertaining as these train wreck videos are, I hope his competency to defend himself is reevaluated so a public defender can put an end to this circus and the families can get some justice for a crime he is flagrantly not sorry for committing.

Can someone explain to me what in the OBJECTION is going on here? Why doesn’t this trial just go on without him in the courtroom because of his behavior? They can legally do that. He just keeps getting dumber and dumber. 🤦🏻♂️
He is representing himself. He’s been removed to a separate courtroom so he can’t verbally disrupt the proceedings (the judge can mute him and unmute him) but in order to avoid an appeal possibly being successful for denial of due process, she is doing all she can to enable him to mount his own defense and participate in the process. If he had an attorney representing him, removing him from the process entirely would be much simpler.

I really don’t understand why the judge allows this joker to appear pro se (or pro per as he insists). Assign him a defense team. Plant him in another room to observe. Let the lawyers defend him without interruptions. I’d think having the jury see him on the monitor constantly holding up an OBJECTION sign is going to lead to an appeal he doesn’t deserve.
I've never seen a sign like that being used in a courtroom before, seems childish to me.
