Is the Monument Grills Mesa the best mid-tier gas grill?

My 4 year old Monument grill is going strong. I've replaced the bottom grease tray. It rusted out a year ago. I found a 3rd party replacement since Monument didn't have them in stock. I'm lining the new one with foil to protect the newer tray. My grill has the side burner and a sear burner as part of the other side shelf. I like the way they've incorporated an extra tube as the sear burner.

I made this video without knowing the sales price and when I saw it, I was blown away. I saw several inferior grills for sale at the hardware store that were either the same price or more expensive!

Why do you have the grates upside down? Or is each side meant for cooking different things?

Nice grill but my 2 main issues are the back being open and that window, the window is a joke....unless you clean it every single time, it is useless.

Thank you for using your cast iron grill grates flat side up. This is the way that Weber suggests using them as well.

Too bad it doesn't have stainless grates. The cast iron tends to rust away.

Which pizza stone would work the best in this grill?

Any stone made from cordierite is a good bet. I've been using one that is designed for the 22 inch kettle.

I would buy the newer model over that one, but I wouldn't sell it to upgrade. That assumes you don't want the side sear burner.
