Another awesome and INTERESTING episode, thanks randi.
Tomy was so amazing at these
Great repair video look forward to seeing more of your videos
Thanks 👍
Reminds me of a mix of Screwball Scramble and old Tomy pocket games.
Pretty much..
yeah, Tomy made so many great products back in the 70's and 80's, seems a shame as think the 90's was more about handheld consoles thsn sbout puzzles etc. don't get me wrong handheld devices started to bring out good games that can be played anywhere, but there was the aspect of appeal to mechanical games like how does it work? can I reassemble this game without it ending up in a mess, like these days it is just following a video of yourself pulling everything apart. none of the mastermind of remembering how parts came out!! haha
@@michaelthomas3646 My first handheld was Ball, the Nintendo Game & Watch, loved those, along with Flagman, Fire, Manhole. My favorite Tomy had to be the little ball on a cool obstacle course. I was so fascinated with that thing.
Love your videos.
Thank you!
Got this in my collection, I like the whole series of those games.
It is fun, hard, but fun.
Such a neat little game!
They don't make them like that anymore.
I remember my friend taking a simular game like this to school in the mid 80's sort of 86 or 87, so definately think it was before that. I can't say I remember an advert for it, so could have been in the 70's that it was released, as only like 3 when the 70's finiahed, so not much in the way of watching tv back then only having 1 tv in the house.
Copyright 1983 on the side of the box. Nifty little game.
Did I miss it?
The middle obstacles seem easier than the side obstacles. It just doesn't go anywhere if it misses in the middle.
The seesaw is kind of hard.
Yay
HERMOSO!!!
Hell yeah, new episode
And a TOMY.
This handheld looks like a motorized evolution from Tomy' Steeplechase.Great repair!
This way out of this looks very similar to another same idea same sort of circles except something that's full size not enclosed but would use a marble instead of the ball bearings for a lack of better word.
No I'm not referring to the 1 back probably in the 80s or 90s that had the two levers for the two metal rods and what look like sort of tree stumps trying to jump from one to the next and quite a few more obstacles I don't know what it was called though I saw a video on this once on UA-cam apparently there was a sequel that was designed to slot on to the first one however the transition did not work as intended when playing the game I do remember it was also Lobel I think at the end as well.
But yeah that brand had all sorts of cool stuff back in the day.
We were once finding a old where they're little handheld games at camp it was somewhere in the cabin somewhere where you wouldn't expect we don't know how long it been there and if we had not been clean up and moving some things would never been found probably.
This was what was called The Kissing Game you had two wheels with abortion girls face image on them this one basically pulled out a lever or pushed it can't remember and would stop at one of the faces with the reactions of either one it wasn't really one of those scoring 14 you're trying to football into something or otherwise is Warren alvani the real game I guess you could treated as one when for example you got the desirable outcome.
I remember back in the day likely prior to Game Boy if I remember correctly.
Your friends had the old pocket games from Tomy sometimes I borrow a few of these for long trips they offered.
Remember my friends had the Pac-Man one we're essentially you had with those little pig type things to randomize the ball movements.
After flipping it with the little plunger type of thing hard to describe floor of a flipper upper sort of thing.
You would have to slide sliding lever across to catch the ball in Pac-Man's Mouse otherwise would fall through to the return shut.
He was tired of not winning the game so he rip the sticker off and his parents stuck a baseball sticker on there to replace it still remember this this very day!
Also I remember having the Radio Shack armatron robot and The Originals which I believe was made by told me as well actually
The perfect video to enjoy over a cup of coffee. Thank you for everything you do.
Glad you enjoyed it.
Very cool. I can't begin to imagine how this contraption was designed and engineered in the first place. It's quite a complex little gadget. Thanks for the vid!
Sometimes that is the neatest part of her vids for me. The design that went into these little games is so cool.
My guess is they had different constructions they know work, and piece these things together.
Hi Randi, firstly thanks a million from Denmark for choosing to fix a Trip over Traps! Then, on the cleaning of the motor, what did you apply/use for that?
That would be 3 in 1 oil. You just need something to hydrate the old dried grease they put on there.
Niceeeyyy!!!!
Fun
Another excellent video, Randi
Thank you.
Oh, I had one of those when I was a kid.
I played it so much that I became very good at feeling the one-button control.
Thank you for the video.
I've gotten way better.
Silicone spray grease works well with plastics and rubber
Any oil or grease made it worse. A lot of pieces use gravity and are very light. They won't fall back down with grease. Graphite!
@@RandiRain It says grease on the tin, but its like the stuff you would shine a cars dashboard or unpainted black plastic bumpers. Put it on sticking curtain runners and the curtains just glide on their runners. I dont know if you can get it in the USA but in the UK its made by FIXT silicone grease.
Hey Randi, another great repair! 😎👍 I always wanted this one as a kid, but ended up with a very similar game Tomy made called “Yeeaghh!” 😳 I think there was also one (again similar but different) called “Wow!” 😄 Tomy really knew how to get mileage out of game ideas & naming conventions 😅
That's a cool game. If I ever find one that needs work and is affordable, I'll get it.
Honestly, great video first but I was fascinated by the repair of the battery terminals, I love how you rebuilt it.
I tend to have to do that a lot.
crushed graphite? sounds useful, where do you get it.
so I was listening to music then I saw the music video for fireflies, and I was all "oh hey I remember that song on the radio" then took a listen and got super giddy when I saw a bunch of the robots you've repaired on the channel.
I checked again and saw the: Robie Sr, Tommy atomic, Armtronic, Dustbot and a silver Robotron
Any home improvement store that sells keys will have graphite.
9:23 first of all is this spring copper material even if not where to get a hold of something like this easily and at a good price if anyone is aware
As well as I'm sure that some people may be aware and others may not there is at least in some spring copper Alloys beryllium which as people would be aware of is toxic not something what you should need being concerned with but it's just awareness as well
got them too also the right stand up how do you clear the glass?
Well, the best way is to polish it. There's kits and stuff that you can get with different compounds with different grits that you can polish up to. It's not fun. I try not to have to do it.
Bit off top gear but it is on the subject of repairing toys sort of.
I'm wondering where to get ahold summer Pilots to those used on these battery terminals and others used in some of the toys in the videos on this channel.
In particular looking for one that would be able to take solder Radley but yet not likely to have corrosion issues such as if it were copper and available in a few different diameters most cases specifically in the inside diameter of the hole after being installed.
When the reasons is making connectors 4.5 V / 12 V system for Lego 4 custom!
Essentially like such as using a printed circuit board to have female connections for the system!
Not sure what exact time Ariana's cannot check it this time and don't have it off the top of my head but I'm pretty sure it's something that would be available.
Possibly if not and I would even something with a longer Shank and Halo portion is the same diameter inside dimension.
Possibly solder into printed circuit board suitable thickness for durability..
Nothing trying to figure out is a good way into do something similar to the Lego motors and having studs with holes through them and being able to connect as a female connection this way think interface a except custom connections instead of an interface.
Thinking outside the box with custom sometimes it's the way to go in regards to things that are not available otherwise not hundred percent purest but it depends on what I'm doing and desired outcome and with wanting to be a hundred percent authentic varies from build to build

Hey. Do you happen to know where/how to get a replacement engine part? Thanks.
I would bet all it needs is cleaning. Several videos show how. If not, check ebay.
@@RandiRain thanks for the quick reply. really appreciate it. I don't think its cleaning, it looks like someone else have already tampered with it. any idea on specific model/serial number that might work?
thanks again.
@@elfinchyaNo, I don't know any kind of model number. Out of the hundreds of robots and mechanical games I've fixed, I've never had to replace a motor. That's why I say to clean it. I don't know what tampering could be, but I would still start there. Squirt some WD40 in it, spin the shaft a whole bunch with your fingers, and then put a 9 volt onto it. If that doesn't fix it, take it apart. Clean it real good, and put it back together.
@@RandiRain you are absolutely amazing, super appreciate your time and super quick responses. I will try to do it and write back.
