- Here is a full ride on the VRE Fredericksburg Line from Spotsylvania, VA to Washington DC Union Station. Included is radio and signal callouts from the engineer along with defect detectors. Sorry about the rain half way through the video as it made the camera unfocus for parts of the ride.

Thank you for showing Quantico I was born there and was there until the age of 8 and moved up to mass
What a fantastic VRE video, even with the rain. Feels almost like being in the engineer's seat.
What a nature, looks so peaceful. Thanks for sharing
I did a video like this last November, from Fredericksburg to DC. The engineer talked fast on the radio, so it was hard to make out what he was saying, but at least yours was talking at a normal speed where you can hear every word. If I were to do this video again, it would be very similar to yours with graphics.
Very relaxing and scenic any more please share
Enjoyed the video! Like that signal aspects are explained. I’m subscribed!
I enjoyed that ride thank you.

Nice ride, even with the rain.
Subscribed.
1:24:23 abandoned catenary pole starts - I wish the lines were not cut so VRE can use it, just like how SEPTA, NJT, and Amtrak does
So far so good I'm enjoying this long train ride but it's reminds me that I'm on it.
I will never understand why CSX requires that an Engineer recite his entire life's story over the radio for every signal. Oh, and if that isn't bad enough, anything and EVERYTHING unforeseen, you have to copy an EC-1. Like okay, let me stop my train, pull out my pen, and spend 5 minutes copying a dissertation from the dispatcher because a MOW foreman pulled his flags 12 seconds before his work zone was scheduled to end.
Great work on the video.
Goddamn right. These VRE f4gs are the worst for radio chatter.
Love this!
WOW New look trains
wow i have never seen the tunnel under DC before. Looks scary inside
This is so cool!
It’s just awesome
Awesome
Love this video
That was a great video! Unfortunately, it seems that UA-cam has limited the video quality to 1080p.
I was there
Me too but later
Did electrification extend south of the tunnel at one time? How far south was the line electrified?
Up until RO
@@anthonystrains1672 where would that be?
Just south of Union station where the tracks cross the Potomac River just south of there and just north of the Crystal City VRE station
The PRR had electrics run on the freight bypass down to Potomac Yard.
What scanner do you use? I've got a beatcat bc215at but the Antena they give is ass
Medium Approach Medium? What is the speed?
30 MPH
Great video it’s just awesome with a cab ride

Stops with only a platform for one way and a small crossing for the other way... Take passengers serious, please!
The train platforms in both directions.
1:22:00 Crystal City Station: A great place to get mugged. One way in, one way out.
1:26:00 Serious tree work needed
1:30:00 What is this? A nature preserve?
My conclusion: Don't waste your time (or life) riding VRE
ok
1. Crystal city isn’t dangerous nor is the station
2. Trees are not obscuring trains line of view
3. Ballas is a very normal thing
Track ownership falls under CSX and Amtrak after Lenfant VRE isn’t at fault.
My conclusion: You’re not very bright and shouldn’t be taken seriously.
You must be a hit at parties.
I rode from there for years - definitely an incorrect POV.
