This isn't the chair Bundy was executed in. This is the new chair built in 98 or 99 to replace the old chair that was built in 1923. You can tell because the original chair's seat has boards that run front to back. This one has boards that go left to right. Also, there are slits in the back rest on this one that they put a strap through. The old chair didn't have those slits for that strap. Also, the old chair is darker and smaller than this one
Finally. I find someone who addresses that fact. People just let history slip by. What I have been wanting to know for a long time is ___ WHERE IS THE ACTUAL ELECTRIC CHAIR THAT TED BUNDY WAS EXCECUTED IN??? Where is it now?
@Snalem Snolek sorry yes. The original old sparky that Bundy died in is in a museum. The new chair in this video is still at Florida state prison. Only Allen Lee Davis has died in the current chair back in 1999
@LeftyDefenceman oh i didn't know that. Thank you. Would be bad if the armrest broke off. I saw the old Tennessee chair a couple of year back. I was surprised how small it was
Read that the inmate's nosebleed was a result of the face covering applied too tightly - and not because of the electricity. This is the wider, larger electric chair, specifically constructed to handle the girth of the last condemned man that was executed via this method.
@HogMan2022 I've heard Flori-duh used 2000 volts. The most I've heard used was Nebraska used 2450 volts 5 times, each time lasting a full 30 seconds, to execute one Charlie Starkweather. Who ironically shares a birthday with Ted Bundy.
@@MrNWA4Life wow, they cook em well done in Nebraska! I could be mistaken on the state, but I thought it was Florida. It was a 'walk thru' interview of the Death House. I think it was Florida. The guard said they use 2450 volts and 8 ampers for the first jolt and two subsequent jolts at a lesser ....he was very calm and to the point. I forget how many executions he had overseen. Makes you want to do right in life, don't it?🙋
A fine piece of equipment!👈👍
Indeed.

This chair was built just to execute Davis in 99,because of his size. It's much bigger than the original on who killed Ted.

The good ol volts wagon awaits ⚡⚡⚡⚠️⚠️⚠️
It wasn't 5000 volts. More like 2000. Most I've ever heard a state use has been 2450 volts!
Right you are. I heard a Florida Death Row Correctional Officer say that it was 2400 volts and 8 amps.👈🙋

No need for such medieval things today. Even lethal injection is barbaric. Anyone ever had a potassium drip and felt the burn??
