The Sony's autofocus feature and the RED's shoulder rest stability gave away the differences
How come the framing of a Super35 sensor camera (RED Komodo) is wider than the one from a full-frame sensor camera (Sony a7iii). Is that because of the difference between DCI and UHD or did you set the a7iii to Super35 crop mode?
I was wondering the same thing. My guess is that they just weren't trying to do the same frame sizes, they just got whatever shots they could. In a real head to head comparison, the full frame a7III would of course be much wider.

I actually got tricked. I suspected X to be the Komodo at first because of dynamic range and better color, but then I let myself get fooled because of the shallower depth of field and thought this must be due to the full frame sensor of the a7III. So yeah, you got me.
Also in my experience with framing, it's ALWAYS better to be slightly below eye level of your subject to make them look more important. Shooting at or over eye level has the tendency to make the subject feel smaller and even sometimes insignificant. That's why I mostly go for shots from the hip rather than shoulder.

Wow. That was really great! Thank you for the advice on framing. I am not really a filmmaker. I do film more active scenarios. Things like parkour runs and other fast motion videos.

For me X is lot better, smooth light fall-off, more color deep and also color are more separated and vibrant.
In conclusion X more cinematic but still not comparable to my Arri Alexa.

because we need to make the Komodo looks good, so that all the cinema masters just bought their first RED won’t get mad 😉
How many people can afford the A7S3 though? This comparison is more convenient for many
