Thank you for this video! I found this video miraculously but timestamp 1:15 is actually a postcard of Yuzuka Rei and Hoshikaze Madoka as Rudolf and his mistress Mary. Yuzuka Rei and Hoshikaze Madoka are the actresses and Top Pair (or also called Top Combi) of Flower Troupe of the Takarazuka Revue, an all-female theatre troupe of over 110 years. This is the performance postcard of the theatre performance “Mayerling” in 2023.
Liked, Subscribed, and enchanted by this fascinating tour of Sisi's world and this lovely host's style and presentation! Thank you for the much appreciated eight minute virtual tour.
Dia, you're a fantastic hostess! It's a pleasure listening and watching you, and kudos to the masterful operator/video editor!! Beautiful visual work! I really liked the "All Ears"series with amazing musicians talking about Beethoven and Vienna!!! I could listen them talking for hours and exploring the cultural depth of Vienna through their talent and voices! Aways from touristic cliches of Vienna, the real treasure of the city is indeed its gem packed talented community! I think more conversations with Vienna's artistic community about art, history, culture, beauty and value of Vienna would be an asset to the channel! I have watched all your videos in one go :)).... Please, keep doing more and longer videos!!
I learnt about her as a woman, as a traveler, as a confidant and cosmopolitan in the thrilling book "Under the Spell of a Myth: Empress Sisi in Greece" by Stefan Haderer 👍 ❤
Thank you so much for this perfect video. I enjoyed seeing you walking around with that beautiful hat. You just look great with it. And the idea of your tatoo is brilliant.
You might coolest person in the world?? Thanks for this video it was very refreshing and there were details I never knew about! That tattoo is fantastic, I loved it as the parting note.
My guess is that Vienna's gotten woke now :)) Yes it would indeed be amazing if they had used original classical music scores. There is still however a TON of classical music being played every day in real-world Vienna, which is fabulous.
Yes. Affirmative. The intro is quite jarring. But...odd to say...Sisi would be the first to overlook it. A breadcrumb trail of hyper links, beginning with the WW1 Christmas 1914 Armistice and continuing with the Central Powers, the antagonists of the Allies in the First World War led me here. If there's a single person who's worthy of adulation, during the prolonged and gradual demise of imperial Europe, from the executions of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette in France to the executions of Tsar Nicholas, Alexandra, and their children in Russia, it's Sisi. She's a madonna, more beloved than any other crowned head before, during, or after that period.
It would be nice if she was to actually pronounce any of the words in German even remotely correctly. She seems charismatic but it really hurts my ears.

Why not use the music of the era when she lived? This modern music is almost comical. Do we need to modernize everything? Please respect history.

I agree.
You are totally true
