    They were never designed to go fast. However, that's where we come in. We do a lot of Duramax Diesel Conversions with the Allison 6-Speed Tranny. This bumps performance to apx. 450hp and 900ft/lbs of torque. Also, fuel economy is almost doubled under certain conditions. So with the conversion your getting a work truck, offroad truck and exotic all at the same time! Haha.

    Very solid and reliable in general. There are issues with them however take into consideration what they are capable of. If the truck is a street queen you would see very few problems with them. If you use them for what they are intended for then yes, you will be replacing parts such as steering components etc. Yes, the D-Max is much more reliable then the 6.5td. The D-Max is a solid 500k mile engine. Plus at almost 500hp it makes it a lot of fun to drive!

    As far as mods go, wars don't affect that since it's mostly universal things. If you're talking about if a part goes out, they're expensive but thats not because of any shortage. We bought a cooler because the truck kept dying, and that ran 400 dollars for a small thing. Also, from the 8 years that we've had the truck, we've seen all of 5 in our area.

      engine broke down and leaked everywhere. the tire inflators and tranny broke down. costly repairs after expired warranty. it has shitty acceleration. my ferraris are more reliable and cheaper to maintain than that pile of junk. looks cool, thats about it.

    I was given a 2004 Landcruiser I put around 20k miles during my deployment the only thing that gave me any problem was the oem battery.i used to carry up to 7 people inside with gear,tools,supplies you name it trough Kuwait 14-18 hours DAILY but Sundays,paved roads,gravel,sand even got lost on my way to Camp Buehring got directions from some weird sunburned Americans with long beards,no uniforms carrying souped up m4's even short AK's in 2 white Suburbans, oh wait we never saw them ;-)

    Negative ghost rider! They are not cheap led bars made in china. They are VisionX led light bars which I believe is made in South Korea. Either way, they are very expensive and are high quality lights.

    hmmm, how solid are they, i've heard good things, but some bad things, like a certain engines would get a crack in the head, or a few of the gizmos would go haywire. I used to own a jag, and just about everything electronic went wrong, the only thing that last was the engine no joke. is the detroit more less reliable then the dirtymax?

Then at the end say things like "if you need blah, blah, blah (blah=a service you offer) please contact us on our website links in the bio. Pretty nice overall, but it looks more like a show vehicle than something practical. Serious overkill on the roof rack lighting, terrible approach angle with that front bumper/winch setup, and big shiny rims with low pro tires... good luck if you have to air down.

      True I have light bars on my truck too, but their is no need to put those wheels and tires on that truck, I kept mine stock, while adding a brush guard, rear tire mount and a functional roof rack, with a bunch of electronics, kept it function over form

    • @Maloy7800
      @Maloy7800 6 років тому +1

      If you search for lost boys in gay bars and rescue them from boredom, yes, you need all that. But if you save people from imminent death, I'll agree with UndergroundTrev, it's WAY overkill and in some aspects is outright stupid.
      The front lights... they must be calling it Front Lighting System... the surfaces of the lamps are outside the bars, which means they'll be broken by... almost anything. The front winch reduced ground clearance to almost nothing. Try going downhill with anything over 15 deg and you'll hit the ground. So Hummer's off road trump card is gone.
      The tint on the windows is good for midday Miami cruising but at night and especially at dusk it'll be a nightmare.
      The rear bumper is a joke. The "ladder system", the "jerry can system" and the "spare wheel system" completely block (quick) access to the equipment systems rescuers usually carry in their "trunk systems". And, as was said above, it reduced depart angle which is the Hummer's pièce de résistance. The "steps system" will work as a shovel when backing up offroad. Raising your foot extra 2 inches? Oh, no, I'm search and rescue, I need to save my energy for battling zombies!
      Inside... alcantara leather for "clean finish"? How long will the rough alcantara (faux suede) stay clean? In the woods, dust or dirt, 3 minutes tops.
      Why the hell does the navigator need engine instruments is mystery to me. The pile of equipment on the center dash completely blocks any chance of visibility for the driver. I don't think he can see anything even 20-30 deg to his right.
      The "satellite phone system" is STUPID. It's tied to the car. You need the sat phone ON YOU, not in the car 3 km away. I also suppose that, since it's "fully integrated", it's also dependent on the car's battery. You run out of battery, and you are DEAD.
      So yeah, it's a nice boulevard cruiser and show stopper. But as search and rescue, it's hopeless. I wonder where it is now 5 years later.
