That gunk was CV grease, will either have split a CV boot or snaped a clip and it's let the grease out. Reason it sprays everywhere is cos the driveshaft is spinning and fires it all over the place.
@@JustbeingHayden Can get CV boots but it's messy and fiddly, be easier to just change the shaft but a lot more expensive, you'll also lose your gearbox oil too, so you'll be having to change that too
Iv changed my oil last night and iv measured the old oil and 5.8 litres came out with oil being tiny bit under MAX line, your 4 litres wouldnt even show on the dipstick
If it's the same set up as the 225 then its 3 bolts under the hub Pull it towards you Whilst pushing drive shaft back in Then once clear pull shaft out Mate i struggled on my own but it can be done

I always use a bit of paper to put under the oil filter and direct it into the drain pan. Never any mess.
