So they nerfed consort radahn severally but never ever touched Malenia or waterfowl dance like bruh, was radahn really intended to be harder than malenia or was it just the result of rushed development?
Because malenia even with waterfowl is a entirely fair fight + Malenia is a optional boss where as consort radahn is technically mandatory if you want to actually complete the dlc
Seems like Waterfowl Dance being the only attack in the game that requires Weird Movement Shit to dodge was _intentional,_ which is -damning- interesting.
They did touch malenia lmao. She used to use her parry like for 90% of the time you attacked her now she only uses it like 20% of the time plus her regen got slightly nerfed as it dosen't heal nearly as much as it did in vanilla. Stop whining.
The heavy attack changes are really nice. Many of them feel almost comparable to light attacks now in terms of speed, such as the overhead slam R2 collosal swords and axes
I'm okay with the visual clutter fix and slowing down the double slash attack that is somewhat unavoidable but this fight did not need additional nerfs.
It's sad that they didn't change the speed of the Great Katanas since there are colossal weapons that weigh 2.5x as much as them and have a very similar speed.
@@TheStraightestWhitestthis is the first time I’ve ever seen you have a legitimately bad gaming related take lmao, in all of their previous games, every single attack, if you had a fast enough reaction speed and weren’t already locked in an animation, could be dodged from any position, the frame trap that radahn had was the only one that broke that rule and forced you to play around it specifically, even waterfowl can be dodged from any position in the arena, disregarding walls
I'm glad they buffed both Rellana's Cameo and Moon and Fire Stance. Both were really close to being great, and now they've gotten the attention they deserve. On the other hand you have Aspects of the Crucible: Bloom, which inexplicably got its range an casting speed buffed but not its damage. Similar deal for Divine Bird Feathers.
He looks so much more enjoyable to fight now. And Im sayibg that as someone who soloed him 3 times just using parries and regular milady's attacks (plus a deflecting hardtear run to mix things up)
@LocksAndChains level 25 3/1 upgrades, perfumes (the weapons) are objectively terrible. Even if you're using them +25 a basic fire knight shortsword is faster, has good range and does more damage and that's a dagger
@sirvilhelm3569 frost buildup is very weak, any cold infused weapon would be better at proccing frost. And the reason you saw that the lightning one was the best is because of the glitch that got patched, they're all equally bad now except for the poison one which has its own niche (poisoning yourself). The frenzy one is technically the best if ur overlevelled since it scales with 4 stats, but all equally terrible, imo.
Change to the uncharged R2s should be pretty nice; I've often felt like they took long enough to come out that you might as well charge them for some of these weapons. Almost like there's a delay there while it checks whether or not you're charging. Can't wait to test it out later! Still so odd to be getting changes like this so long after the game came out.
This is not a nerf this is a FIX. Radahn (at least mechanically) was my one major gripe w the DLC and I'm excited to give him another go now that his attacks work and is less of an accessibility nightmare
Excited to see what the shield buffs end up being, especially if any of the small shields (looking at you shield of night) have any use as a shield now.
tbh those aren’t nerfs but fixes. Aside from damage nerf, I’m all for the new changes. Visibility, performance and cross slash were my only gripes and they are finally fixed
God damn it's annoying that they leave so many details vague. Not listing names of spells, damage percent increases, etc is so lame when they definitely have a spreadsheet listing all the changes in their office
alright awesome, we've moved into the next stage of a fromsoft product's release where now all the "souls vets" who are upset that they couldn't steamroll a new product using the exact same build and the exact same strategies they used for the last product start pretending they weren't constantly whining about how hard the hard video game is and move on to telling new players that their achievements are worthless since the new players exclusively live in a post-nerf world, even though that's the nerf they spent months begging for. and they'll do that while still putting out massive, lazy video essays where you can literally just see from their gameplay footage that they're terrible at the game and refuse to learn while their droning, whiny manchild voice-over misconstrues nearly every design decision in the game, makes false claims that "most souls vets" agree with them, makes false claims that new players won't be able to have fun (even though all the new players are just fine, just like always), yada yada yada. what a community! so glad to see we never get better only worse, especially now that big controversial video essays are such a great way to generate engagement and drive up ad revenue, including of course the new essay the same people will post 4 to 10 months after release where they explain how they love it now, oh so conveniently creating yet another controversy to generate further engagement. what a time to be a gamer!

Why would they nerf the cross slash if waterfowl doesn’t get nerfed
I've been using the Rellana's Twinblade with the Smithscript Shield. It's great for going back and forth between the shield skill and dual weilding the greatswords. Gonna have to add the cameo to the build now.
So they nerfed consort radahn severally but never ever touched Malenia or waterfowl dance like bruh, was radahn really intended to be harder than malenia or was it just the result of rushed development?
You're asking FromSoft, the people who released the DLC with at the very least 5 very empty areas, if CRadahn is a result of a rushed development?
Because malenia even with waterfowl is a entirely fair fight + Malenia is a optional boss where as consort radahn is technically mandatory if you want to actually complete the dlc
Waterfowl is perfection and required skill to dodge. Double slash was just bullshit.
Now he’s *Rad* ahn, Consort of *Sick* ella the *Grind.*
My dual Devonia's Hammer build just keeps getting better and better
So Radahn no longer skips combo recovery. Good now he shouldn't feel so janky.
As a HUGE fan of the light greatswords Rellana's Twin Blades + Milady, as well as Obsidian Lamina this patch is my favorite.
Still no spells from the Putrescence Sorcerer, Midra's dive bomb and Crucible tongue/centaur ☹️
I'm okay with the visual clutter fix and slowing down the double slash attack that is somewhat unavoidable but this fight did not need additional nerfs.
They removing the skill ceiling of the fight
This fight being crazy and unfair is what made it fun for me but for other peoples enjoyment then the changes are good
It's sad that they didn't change the speed of the Great Katanas since there are colossal weapons that weigh 2.5x as much as them and have a very similar speed.
happy
changed something about some attacks and some things now behave differently sometimes maybe
most specific non-vague fromsoft patch notes
Will put on my CV I've beaten Consort Radhan 3x pre nerf with no summons.
You are hired! 👍
Irrelevant in real life unfortunately
Lmao
I’ve been waiting for Rellanas twin blades to get their shine! They’ve been underrated since launch.
Fixing the cross slash makes him an S tier boss for me now. Thats the only problem for me. Hes better than messmer for me in my opinion now.
That was legit the fights only weak point. Now that the fight isnt fearmongering with that attack the flow is truly impeccable
He was already S tier. That attack was perfect. It forced you to dodge properly instead of just dodge.
Stop the cap
@@Slaughter_Hill ain't capping. He's super fun to fight. Especially if you use the deflecting hard tear.
The patch notes have a translation error. Colossal WEAPONS were buffed, *not* Colossal Swords.
Not much of a nerf, just a very needed adjustment to the fight to make it less bullshit
They still didn't buff light of miquella, bayle's tyranny damage being bugged, or fix gaius charge attack hitbox
Bayles tyranny was fixed, it now can hit multiple enemies and doesn't just miss if on uneven terrain.
ur the goat for technical information and perspective. no click bait just facts and warnings when you state opinions 💯
Nerfing Radahns bullshit roll catch was so needed. Now he's a perfect boss. He is probably my 2nd favorite boss ever.
He still is mediocre af
Same, PCR is only hated by Malenia simps
He looks so much more enjoyable to fight now. And Im sayibg that as someone who soloed him 3 times just using parries and regular milady's attacks (plus a deflecting hardtear run to mix things up)
Why did perfumes not get buffed? They suck so much..i want to play on my perfumer co op build but theyre so bad even a dagger does more damage
We must be using different weapons, because my perfumer character fucks.
@LocksAndChains level 25 3/1 upgrades, perfumes (the weapons) are objectively terrible. Even if you're using them +25 a basic fire knight shortsword is faster, has good range and does more damage and that's a dagger
Isn’t the lightning variant much better than it’s original counterpart? (Also frost)
Wuss.
Nah, it's a nerf
Excited to see what the shield buffs end up being, especially if any of the small shields (looking at you shield of night) have any use as a shield now.
tbh those aren’t nerfs but fixes. Aside from damage nerf, I’m all for the new changes. Visibility, performance and cross slash were my only gripes and they are finally fixed
All I’m hearing are excuses, miserable hollow. I’ve beaten both pre-patched Radahn’s.
:3
@@sirvilhelm3569
good for you, I’ve beaten rl1 without summons
@@thatlittlemonstrosity While blindfolded? :b
Preach it!
My man wrote a whole essay bitching about how people are bitching. The circle is now complete
git gud
Rellana's cameo boosts damage to 45% now not 15%. The damage boost has been buffed as well
Welp, time to lean back and get ready to watch elitists and tryhards cry about "filthy casuls ruining the game" yet again. Was this way with scadu patch, will be this way with Radahn.
Are people that want the game to remain hard not allowed to have an opinion?!
@@TheMrNukemanyes.
As someone who got molested fighting radahn they overnerfed him/didnt nerf him correctly. Also its the final boss so
@@TheMrNukemanBrother, there's a difference between "hard" and "bullshit". PCR was the latter with cross slash bs, visual clutter, uneven terrain, et cetera. Scadu patch complaints were even more stupid, considering that it could barely be considered a "buff". You end up pretty much the same as you would pre-patch if you have all 20. Plus now repeat playthroughs require a bit less tedious fetch questing for weed due to most progression being tucked into the first 12 levels.
@@TheMrNukeman did you play dark Souls 1 with curse stacking and lower Souls drop?
the superiority complex is strong with this one, beating radahn before the nerfs
The radahn changes make me so happy. He's actually so fun to fight now. Maybe they can go after Metyr next 👀 🤞
Now all we need in the next DLC is to be able to go through the god gate and fight the outer Gods on a Boss run
😢 that or be able to try to go to the outer Gods realms and fight them and their armies
People can complain about the nerf all they want, it still doesn't change the fact Consort Radahn was too difficult in design. Like compared to Malenia, his design isn't fair at all
Malenia is fine ur coping
rellanas cameo now actually does +45% damage
People in the comments are crying about a boss design getting fixed🤣
So obsessed with difficulty that it rotted their brains.
There’s an insufferable portion of souls fans that masturbate over “muh difficulty” as if that’s the only thing that makes the games good
People fail to consider the importance of actually balancing games.
i'm commenting at 4 seconds in, take a shot whenever youwy says the word "to or too" lets see how this goes
Malenia is back to being the most difficult fromsoft boss.
Lol that’s funny. It’s funny because it’s not even close to being true. Malenia isn’t even that difficult anymore.
Nah, that title still goes to Laurence.
@TheLsp2011 what you mean anymore?😅
Yes, when you practice a boss a thousand times, it becomes easier. that applies to any boss.
@@upsideproductions2 only the real ones will even know what you mean but it's true
@@iHaveTheDocuments yeah, the most traumatizing boss of all time imo.
What was the point of removing Consort Radahn's initial attack? I've been summoned to that fight dozens if not hundreds of times. And I've only seen a few people hit by that lol
Edit: Also his attack speed wasn't the problem, it was the outrageous hitboxes not matching what you visually saw.
Mesmer has the same ridiculous hitboxes but is completely fine because of the flame visuals.
Promised Consort wasnt a fun fight for me, probably my most hated. Didnt felt rewarding either.
Should be better now
