Just what I was looking for to set up my $25 garage sale Mcculoch trimmer I just got with new fe line from auto part store . Your explanation worked like a charm. Thank you very much!
Thanks for the video mate, had one to bits and forgot the plumbing , nearly give up and chucked it away. Your video saved the bacon and me credibility mate .Cheers Steve.
Thank you very much. Good to know I hooked the new lines up wrong and not a mechanical issue. Would love to see a video showing how to replace the fuel lines. I used a hook to pull the new line out of the filler neck to add the filter back on, after pushing into the tank.
Great video Anzac. Have just found this after searching for help with McCullough bush strimmer. Shows fuel supply very clearly and I can now sort out my problem. Many thanks. Keep up the good work!!
Thank you for your video. I went to start my Mac 3227 trimmer today and the primer bulb disintegrated under my finger. Looked for fuel lines, half were disintegrated, so now what? I decided to make sure it still worked and sprayed some starter fluid into the carb and it fired up just fine. I ordered replacement parts on Amazon for less than 5 US dollars. I looked at parts diagrams for how the fuel lines were routed, but no luck. Then I found your video and my problems were solved. You made a Great video , pat yourself on the back. You also left great instructions in the comments section about the adjustment screws and how to adjust them. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Robert......Am pleased my video was helpful. The great aspect of UA-cam is sharing information. Many guys and Gals have helped me too. Cheers and Good Luck. John from DownUnder
Thank you for the video, it saved me from purchasing a new unit when my fuel lines crumbled to bits. I had no idea where the lines had been going and found no parts views showing the route. Guessing lead to frustration due to hooking the lines backward, assuming the primer bulb pushed the fuel into the carb. Great Video!!
+Curtis Frank Hello Frank. Am pleased you has success and my instruction was able to help you. They are a great machine and will last forever with some tender loving care. Cheers John from Australia
Great video man, had one with no fuel lines (they all rotted away) so it was either look it up or just trial and error! Cheers from Ontario Canada mate!
Just what I needed mate, been given an old Trim Mac 210 and the lines are in bits. This is exactly what I was looking for, Cheers Mate from one happy pom. Dave.
Yes indeed. I have used a variety of brands. I use a mixture ratio of 40:1. I also use fuel that has a minimum of 91% octane. I have also used up to 99% octane fuel..It all works. Cheers JP
Outstanding video. Same issue as other owners, my fuel lines on my 2816 have disintegrated. With what was salvageable, I was able to determine with calipers, that the OD for all lines is 3/16, just as you mentioned in a previous comment. However, seems that the inner diameter is not the same for all hoses. Is this your assessment as well or just my imagination. Seems that the in & out port of the carburetor are also different diameters. Is there any harm in using one ID sized hose for the engine or can you recommend which ID sizes to use and where they are used? Thanks for feedback.
Hello JK, YES, Inside and outside Diams. vary on lines and ports. I use what fits. There are variations on thicknesses of what dependant on brand. Am please my Vid. was of some help. Cheers and have a great day. John Purdy
Hello VatoXlocos, You should be able to get lines etc at your local hardware or any reatiler who sells new trimmers of any type. The lines and bubble are mostly standard parts. You dont need genuine parts. good luck JP
OK Where are you from Bill. I am Adelaide, Australia here. Am sure you can go to any lawn mower retailer/hardware store to buy the fuel line. The line is designed for fuel products. cheers
Hello Dave. I do have a posted video explaining high/low tuning from scratch. I will find it for you directly. Cheers John P. I see your Test squad have landed on our beaches. As Churchill said, We will fight them where ever they are..............lol
Hi John, hope all's well with you. Can you please advise me of the best set up for the low and high adjustment screws from scratch; mine have been adjusted and I'm unsure where to start! Cheers buddy. PS Great informative videos! Dave, UK.
I rebuild my walbro carb with a kit. When I pump the bulb it makes a hissing sound and does not fill with fuel. But the fuel comes out of the front of the carb and soaks the sponge air filter. Do you think I have connected something wrong?
Hi Does not sound right. Check my vid to see if you have connected the fuel lines correctly. If that fails then perhaps check your rebuild. cheers and good luck JP
Thanks for the video, I've recently been given the pro mac I-Super however the fuel lines(incl. filter) and bubble primer have gone brittle and cracked. Where could I get replacements? Hope to hear from you soon (:
Hello Anzac, Since am not sure of your name will call you Anzac. I am located in Kansas City, Mo. I already ordered the fuel line in a 3 foot length. It should arrive this Thursday or Friday. Now need to get the fuel filter out of the tank. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Have a good day mate.
+KicksLikeA Hammer ..........Sometimes startup is tricky as VERY SMALL adjustments are required to get your engine to fire. The start up settings do vary, however, try both 1&1/2 counter clockwise (Left hand) turns from total close. Always adjust the idle (slow) screw first with small counter clockwise adjustments 1/8th at a time to about a total of 2 turns. If no start, then make adjustments clockwise and go past the 1&1/2 setting to maybe to almost full close. When the engine does fire, try to keep running and then adjust on the run. Once achieved, then warm up properly and then do the high end. Hope this works.....John P
2 cycle fuel 40:1. The hardware store sells little bottles of 2 cycle oil and you mix it to a gallon of gasoline according to the instructions on the oil bottle. A good quality of oil and high octane gasoline is best for the engine. I would rather have a little smoke and know that the engine is getting enough oil in the fuel than have a cooked engine.
Dave, this link below on you tube should help you with your tuning. Be aware that sometimes minute adjustments maybe required to find the sweet spot to enable the engine to run smoothly and at peak efficiency. Let me know how you go. Good luck. John P watch?v=OoetUhBdkm8

Ok thanks for letting me know. By the way, with it saying it requires "mcculloch custom oil" can I get away with using normal 2 stroke oil instead?
I would use the best two cycle oil you can find. I prefer Stihl or Husqvarna. Never had a problem and I use my equipment professionally.
Will do Joe.
is the MCCULLOCH STRAT GAS?
