My dad had an old 2 door sporty datsun when I was about 5-6 years old in the early to mid 80's. Rusted floorboards with wood panels screwed down to keep our feet from going through. He didnt have it too long either. But I remember him taking me to the little local raceway in it. (Mind you he had other American muscles cars) At the stop lights on the way he would effortlessly do a burnout everytime the light turned green, with mere feet to the car in front of us starting to go if we weren't the first car at the light. Nothing he would ever do in his big hp muscle cars. For some reason that memory stuck with me more than any other car. The sound, the feel, the zippyness, and how nibble and responsive the car was put a smile on all our faces. I remember my dad having so much fun driving it! It wasnt the same expressions from him when he drove his big block v8 cars. (And they scared the shit out of me as a child lol). I never got into cars and hated "gear head" type people talking about there 387, 454, blah blah blah. Just a bunch of egos. But when I got my first import sports car (because it was all I could afford), it brought me back to that day going to the races in the datsun. And just like that, I loved cars all of a sudden and never looked back!!! Work on em, tune em, and drive them. Even ended up getting an old datsun pickup when I was in my early 30s. Had many of trucks and drive them on the beach to fish. That datsun truck was the best pickup I've ever had the pleasure of driving off road. I will admit, my second favorite was a Subaru brat/brumby lol. Thanks to the little datsun, it instilled something in me I never thought would effect my future life 👍. Thanks for the video and looking forward to possibly more. I subscribed and checked out the other videos.
