SJ Suriya face is so Indian...I have seen similar people as him in NOrth South East WEst and mid part of India..His face can fit common man across India and this is a huge complement !

Its definitely not exceptional. Nani I think managed expectations by calling it a simple film with Vivek's twist to it. I think fans just wanted more of an emotional punch with Surya and the people from the basti.
Nani has been picking scripts with variation and is making sure that no two consecutive films from him have the same genre. Saripodhaa Sanivaaram is an action drama with a unique theme where Nani excels in the lead role with great support from the remaining cast. But Saripodhaa Sanivaaram has its negatives in the form of dragged scenes and most routine commercial narrative at times.
I think the family drama was where the film lacked the real punch. The mother motivation, the sister pregnancy, it all was rather half baked to the otherwise engaging hero vs villain story

The place sokulapalem is introduced in reference to a real place 'Stuartpuram', which is a well known place within the context of Telugu cinema and Andhra Pradesh. Pls watch Brochevaruevaru ra is outstanding direction piece by Vivek (his first film) , given he has set such high stakes with that movie, all other movies even though were good but they were referred to his first till date.
Vivek Athreyas mastery in direction can be seen in his Brochevarevaruraa and its Hindi remake made by another director. While the original keeps you stuck to the screen, the Hindi version is a dud. Hope he gets a good editor who can turn his movie into a gem and is not afraid to cut the unnecessary portions.

Just came back from the theatre. My friend was asking me did i watch any reviews for the film i just said "Its nani bro". Also credit where credit is due vivek athreya is absolutely killing it with these back to back bangers just a one more and i can confidently say "its vivek man"

I am in awe with the phenomenon that is SJ Surya. This was a man whose acting was once thought amatuerish and cringey when he was first starting. His sense of humor was undeniable but as an actor he just wasn't bankable. I don't know what new addition did he bring to his skills but he absolutely is blowing everyone's mind from Maanadu till now. And tho he's being sought by everyone for villian roles for his eccentricities, Jigarthanda DoubleX captures how moving as a performer he can be. This man is this glimmering hope for both moviegoers and actors that some good stuff take time. Trust the process and learn.
I am from Bengal and a huge fan of SJ Surya. He is an exceptional actor with terrific comedy timing. Just loved his works and evolution down the years.
Imagine the final sequence happened on a Saturday evening instead of a friday evening and then the scene extends into sunday where Surya cannot do anything anymore (since its not Saturday) but the people of sokulapalem take his place and say, "you have done all this from a week of suppressed anger, imagine our anger that we have, after suffering for so long" and they fight the corrupt cop

This is not Mass done right but Mass done better. My Man Vivek fused old school Telugu cinema with his new age screenwriting. The charm lies in the tight writing and the details. This is not just another commercial masala film but Vivek Athreya's Commerical masala movie. Jakes Bejoy rampage made it 100x better. SJ Surah is at his eccentric best and Nani, is just Nani man. Kudos to him to see what this film will turn out to be. Have totally missed this kind of proper Telugu Masala movie and Vivek Athreya gave it and gave it better with his style. This is a masterclass in modern masala movie screenwriting

I am glad you loved it! I have to admit though I missed an end credit song. (I will never not love a big song and dance somewhere in a film). LOL a may be unique in that but as an American it was the musical numbers that pulled me to Indian movies. That said the background score, especially during the songs were great. BTW, while I haven't traveled to another State to see A film I did drive 140 KM to see Captain Miller and Ayalaan back to back. Thangalaan never played here (Minneapolis) which is highly unusual but happening more and more. I am missing more and more Tamil and Malayalam films lately.
Thanks for addressing issue with theatres given to the mainstream south cinema in other states. I live in Pune, Saripoda Sanivarm movie is only limited to 4 theatres, not released in any pvr cinemas. I have observed this issue with Thangalan and Raayan as well, these were not at all released in Pune. On the other hand, Stree 2 which is released with 2 weeks back has most of the theatres assigned. I really sense foul play towards South cinema in northern states.

This villian and the plot reminds me of an old Tamil movie called Dhill. It is also about a bad cop but the character and story is well setup. This Nani movie you can imagine the whole movie from watching the trailer itself
I wonder why the Telugu reviewers are very critical when it comes to Nani's movies. The reviews for this movie are strictly average. This made me think my decision on whether to watch the movie in theater or not. But I kept confidence in Nani since i liked most of his recent movies and I went for the movie. Very early in to the movie itself i started wonderful why the reviewers were so critical. They give decent to good reviews to just average commercial movies. This movie gave a new grammer to the Telugu commercial action language.

But audience review tells that it is best South Indian movie released in Independence day. That is why it is steadily collecting money. Great review, however I dont't agree with you on Vivek's characters obsessions and run time because after a very long time I was awake watching each and every scene in theatre, otherwise would have slept for some scenes 😅. The screen play, BGM and characters were so engaging that I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. I think everyone is forgetting Murali sirs character which he brilliantly portrayed, thanks for mentioning that. Ofcourse SaiKumar sir as Nanis father did exceptional, I actually though if Sai Kumar added his police story agression at the climax would have given some connection to Nani's character . However I rate this movie over every movie released this year. Thanks to Nani, SJ, Vivek, and Jakes Bijoy this movie was a treat ❤

I Still think Brochevaravuru, Ante sundaraniki are superior in Vivek's filmography. It shockingly seems to Average here in Telugu states and doubt it will recover the budget of 90 crores.

The sharp writing and eye for detail elevate Saripodhaa... from a regular vigilante story, subverting cliches and making the drama engrossing.

Nani's diversity is amazing he can play a local vella boy a classic hero a brilliant husband and a mass hero as well.
I am from Bengal and a huge fan of SJ Surya. He is an exceptional actor with terrific comedy timing. Just loved his works and evolution down the years.

Imagine the final sequence happened on a Saturday evening instead of a friday evening and then the scene extends into sunday where Surya cannot do anything anymore (since its not Saturday) but the people of sokulapalem take his place and say, "you have done all this from a week of suppressed anger, imagine our anger that we have, after suffering for so long" and they fight the corrupt cop
the climax could have been so much more!!!

This is not Mass done right but Mass done better. My Man Vivek fused old school Telugu cinema with his new age screenwriting. The charm lies in the tight writing and the details. This is not just another commercial masala film but Vivek Athreya's Commerical masala movie. Jakes Bejoy rampage made it 100x better. SJ Surah is at his eccentric best and Nani, is just Nani man. Kudos to him to see what this film will turn out to be.
Have totally missed this kind of proper Telugu Masala movie and Vivek Athreya gave it and gave it better with his style. This is a masterclass in modern masala movie screenwriting

I am glad you loved it! I have to admit though I missed an end credit song. (I will never not love a big song and dance somewhere in a film). LOL a may be unique in that but as an American it was the musical numbers that pulled me to Indian movies. That said the background score, especially during the songs were great. BTW, while I haven't traveled to another State to see A film I did drive 140 KM to see Captain Miller and Ayalaan back to back. Thangalaan never played here (Minneapolis) which is highly unusual but happening more and more. I am missing more and more Tamil and Malayalam films lately.

Thanks for addressing issue with theatres given to the mainstream south cinema in other states. I live in Pune, Saripoda Sanivarm movie is only limited to 4 theatres, not released in any pvr cinemas. I have observed this issue with Thangalan and Raayan as well, these were not at all released in Pune. On the other hand, Stree 2 which is released with 2 weeks back has most of the theatres assigned. I really sense foul play towards South cinema in northern states.

This villian and the plot reminds me of an old Tamil movie called Dhill. It is also about a bad cop but the character and story is well setup. This Nani movie you can imagine the whole movie from watching the trailer itself

I wonder why the Telugu reviewers are very critical when it comes to Nani's movies. The reviews for this movie are strictly average. This made me think my decision on whether to watch the movie in theater or not. But I kept confidence in Nani since i liked most of his recent movies and I went for the movie. Very early in to the movie itself i started wonderful why the reviewers were so critical. They give decent to good reviews to just average commercial movies. This movie gave a new grammer to the Telugu commercial action language.

I could see a lot of parallel & similarities between vivek athreya's saripoodha sanivaaram and madonne ashwin's maaveeran which came last year.

Great review, however I dont't agree with you on Vivek's characters obsessions and run time because after a very long time I was awake watching each and every scene in theatre, otherwise would have slept for some scenes 😅. The screen play, BGM and characters were so engaging that I couldn't take my eyes of the screen. I think everyone is forgetting Murali sirs character which he brilliantly portrayed, thanks for mentioning that. Ofcourse SaiKumar sir as Nanis father did exceptional, I actually though if Sai Kumar added his police story agression at the climax would have given some connection to Nani's character . However I rate this movie over every movie released this year. Thanks to Nani, SJ, Vivek, and Jakes Bijoy this movie was a treat ❤

I Still think Brochevaravuru, Ante sundaraniki are superior in Vivek's filmography. It shockingly seems to Average here in Telugu states and doubt it will recover the budget of 90 crores.
