I lived in this area between 1946 and 1962 and can confirm that it has changed. It is now totally different and very busy. Thank you for all the work you put in doing theese videos. I watch them all.❣️

This area doesn't seem to have the same charm as the rest of Stockholm city but the snow makes it look cool.

@@Nels_P_Engstrom Hi Nels 🙂 Minnesota is well known for its 10,000 lakes, and yes, I have gone ice fishing 🎣 but nowhere near as much as I would like. ✌️
It's a postmodern area with deconstructivist buildings. The charming parts of Stockholm were all built before marxist "modernism" took over during the 1930s. Despite the deceiving name it was given, this so called "modernism" was a backwards, primitivistic and brutal ideology that replaced the real artful modernism, called *Art Nouveau.* It also killed off the whole eclectic synthesis and mixture of older styles that were common between the 1600s and 1920s. (Like Baroque, Renaissance, Gothic, Hansa, National romantic, etc.)
(This dogma hasn't been questioned for real until very recently. After ninety years, a new attitude is slowly growing among architects and politicians.)
I love winter, I think the snow makes everything better.
It does make things look pretty- but more when on the ground rather than blowing in your face 😉

Exactly, a very popular- and sometimes hated- saying here! Yea, you need a pair of ice spikes around your neck when you’re on the ice- so you can pull yourself up!

Oh yes! I volunteered to jump into a hole in the ice for a lesson in school as a kid to practice getting up. I don’t think that’s common practice nowadays though… what’s a cut up hole in the ice (for fishing or swimming) called in English? Google translate doesn’t tell me anything I believe to be correct.

The bleakness of modern architecture definitely adds to the charm of the weather.
This area is really a large building site- the charm might come in 10 years if we’re lucky
-3 last night.... +9 on Sunday.... But still no snow worth talking about..... BUT YT is really getting worse... It is so slow it is like dial up!!!!!.........
How strange with YT! Swinging temperatures are true here as well- but further down the scale. It can be -17 then 0 the next day.
