Hi Chris! I wanted to share with you that, when I first saw this video, I made the paste right away and I liked it as far as the consistency. It worked really well. However, for some reason, I could not stomach the smell of the baby powder. Since baby powder is mainly cornstarch, or, as you say over there, corn flour, I thought, what do I have to lose? So this morning, I made a batch of the paste with your recipe but I used only corn flour instead of baby powder. It works like a charm! I just made two beautiful cards! And no smell! 😊❤❤❤
That's wonderful, I have said in some videos that I thought you could use cornstarch, but I had never actually tried it. It's brilliant to know that it works well! Thanks so much for letting me know. Actually it's the smell of the talc that I really like... it's great that we are all different! 🧡🧡🧡
This must be one of your more popular videos. I remember getting some pigment powder as a gift with a purchase and the instructions were to use embossing paste to adhere it. At the time, I'd never heard of embossing paste. I had loads of other kinds of pastes but no embossing paste. Of course, after watching you for so long, I know now. I saw a comment from someone a year ago when you were ALSO on vacation. You have loyal subscribers.
I am blessed to have such wonderful people subscribe to my channel, take the time to comment on my work... Even when I'm away on vacation. Thank you❤️❤️❤️
I will definitely be trying this very soon! I love experimenting and this video was perfect - easy recipe and examples of what to do with it. Thank you so much! 💕💕👍👍
Hi. This is brilliant, I made some a few years ago now and I added colour to it which worked really well. Thank you for reminding me of this, it's high time I made some more as it is great stuff.
Just found this video, can't wait to try out your recipe! I also just found your videos and subscribed to you today. I'm really enjoying watching your creativity and the beauty you create, so inspiring! ❤
Really useful as I’ve found paste dried up as well. I add embossing powder sometimes to my paste through stencil and heat for a different effect too. Really enjoy your videos thank you.
The effect of embossing powder is different if you heat it immediately, or leave it to soak into the paste before heating. It's fun to see it happening!
What do you use to make your stencils on the Cricut, and what thickness is it? Do you need a special blade? I’ll have to try making some too. Thanks for the idea.
@@Chrissieannie We are lucky enough to live in the same area so we try to get together once a month to make cards, etc. We missed each other during the height of Covid, but we are back to seeing each other again. The three of us have so much in commen and get along great ... always so much fun!! :) xx
That's interesting, thank you, I used a different measuring cup when I made this last batch and wondered why I appeared to have more paste! I added a little more glue this time. I'll amend the description to let others know of my faux pas! 🤔 Thank you!
Thanks for this tutorial. Have you tried coloring it with mica powders? Would you need to spray a sealant on your project after it dries so the mica doesn’t rub off, or does the embossing paste take care of that already? Can’t wait to give this a go.
I had the same question about using cornstarch...wondering if you tried it, and if so how well it worked. (Also, if anyone has successfully replaced the talcum powder with something other than cornstarch, I'd love to know about it.)

What does it smell like, I loved the smell of baby powder
Great tips and tricks! ❤ I wonder if potato flour would work too? It has no smell. 🤔
Thank you for sharing your recipe! I’m going to use this!
Please do!😊😊😊
Thank you, Chris. So convenient. Can make this with what I have here in the house. So inexpensive! Thanks so much! From Cheryl in AZ

Fabulous! Thank you so much. I struggle with the costs of some of these products so this is so liberating and possible!🖐
Glad it was helpful!
I look forward to trying this!
It works really well! ❤️❤️❤️
Enjoy your videos and ideas shared. Thank you. I love your work area with all the parts and pieces nearby. Real life crafting! 🤓
Excellent. Thanks for sharing. Would pop out a bit moreover dark card
Looks like it will be fun to try. Thanks for the recipe.
Thanks for your clear explanation! Nice that you make videos!
Wonderful ! Thank you, take care.

Thanks for sharing love it❤
Thanks for watching!
I am going to make my own! Thanks for the recipe!!
WOW!!!!! This is awesome - thank you.

Brilliant! Thanks for sharing.
Perfect instruction! i will try this. I make my own stencils using the cricut and love them.
What do you use to make your stencils on the Cricut, and what thickness is it? Do you need a special blade? I’ll have to try making some too. Thanks for the idea.
Thankyou Chris. Added bonus, I don’t have to buy supplies 😂
Excellent! ♥️
Thank you so much.
Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Great video Chrissie. Have to try this. :)
Christine, I am from Canada. What is PVA glue? Just white glue?
Yup!
Great video will have a go
Hope you enjoy❤️
Your measuring cup says 1/3 cup, so less than you said, with more glue?
Take a look at the description, it’s all a little subjective, depending on the brands of paint & glue etc.
Thx !!!!! Brilliant. Oops... But does that cup not say 1/3 of a cup instead of half a cup? 😉
I added that in the description!!!!! Did you see?
Thanks for this
Wonderful! How long does it take to dry on the card? Thank you.
It's kind of how long is a piece of string! How much liquid have you added, what is the temperature, humidity etc. When it's dry, it's dry!
Hi Christine I found it !!!!!! Whoop whoop lol xx
🎉😊😊😊
We don't have PVU glue in the States; would Elmers Glue be similar? Great video, thank you.
I think that Elmer's white school glue is the equivalent of PVA! Glad you liked the video!
Awesome! Looks like Susan, Christine and I will be making some of your paste at our new craft day! :) xx
Are you getting together or Zooming? Sounds like fun!

The bottom of your measuring cup says 1/3 cup, not 1/2.

I used Polly filler for mine x x
Great!
What a great idea! Can't wait to give this a go! May I ask what thickness the Mylar is for the stencils? Many thanks
250 microns
@@Chrissieannie Great - thanks!
Thanks for this tutorial. Have you tried coloring it with mica powders? Would you need to spray a sealant on your project after it dries so the mica doesn’t rub off, or does the embossing paste take care of that already? Can’t wait to give this a go.
I have used mica powder in the mix and didn't need a sealant, I think the glue allows the mica to be combined with the mixture.
wow ,what kind of glitter are you using.i love it
I believe it's called Glamour Dust!
@@Chrissieannie thank you, i will look for it. hope they have it in the Netherlands
@@sylviaf7611 there are all sorts of crystal/twinkle/glitters available, I'm sure you should be able find something similar.
Thank you for sharing, can I use cornstarch instead of talc powder?
I wouldn't think so, but I don't know as I've not tried. If you do try it and it works, maybe you could let us know!
Yes, if I try, I will let you know. Thank you.

Found it 🥰
👍👍👍👍
Why not just use spakle
I've never heard of "spakle".
