Thank you so much Christine, I really really enjoyed watching you create these dry embossing idea’s for us all. So very very useful and helpful too. What clever idea’s. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
I’m 76 and live in the state of Oregon in the USA. I just spotted a posting that you had on Facebook and you mentioned you posted on You Tube. TYVM for sharing your lovely cards and tips. I wish I had someone close by who liked to make cards. My good friend and stamping buddy passed away over 6 yrs. Ago, and crafting has never been the same. I do, however, turn on my music, go into my cardmaking room, and think of the wonderful times we had. Merrily and I would put shaving cream on paper plates, add drops of color, then swirl the colors with a used ice-cream stick, then create our card fronts. I will again try that and let the cream w/color set overnight, as you suggested. BTW, I was recently given some “texture” plates and was going to donate them as I didn’t know how to use them, thank you very much for sharing this video. Sincerely, Diane Collings
Diane, it’s been a year, but I hope you’re still making cards. I think many of us have this virtual community instead of real life card making pals. I’m so sorry for your loss, but hope you get some enjoyment from your card making.
Aah memories❤. I too still have these. There was another tool that you brought separately, which had three swivelling ball-bearings which was used to go around the back. Also if you use an old tea light on the surface which you use the ball tool on it help the tools move more smoothly and you don't need to apply more pressure. I must dig these out😊
Watching you gives me an immense sense of calm. Your voice is relaxing, and quite, ”posh” at least to these American ears! Anyway, keep posting your wonderfully soothing tutorials.💜
I'm delighted to read this feedback. It's interesting that you mention my voice... When I was in school (as a pupil not as a teacher) the only prize I received was the Drama prize, for my performance in The Merchant of Venice, where I was described as having "a sound expressive voice". I guess I must have kept it!😊😊😊 Thank you❤️
Ms. Chrissie did I ever mention that after watching this video, I liked the effects so much that I searched everywhere to try & find this exact Fiskars set? I was lucky enough to find them from eBay🤗 & I now use them quite often with my new & improved card making, Thanks to you!!!
Christine, I have often seen embossing like this but never knew how to do it! I think you so very much… You are one very talented and very very helpful lady.
No less than brilliant. I use a Gemini Junior now, but kept my Cuttlebug in case there was an embossing/die cutting emergency and no electricity. It’s the same spa color as yours. Thank you!
Thank you for sharing. To help the ball tool glide easier you can also use a little bar of soap or a candle. Just run your ball tool gently across them. X
WOW Christine you keep coming up with techniques I’ve never seen before, which is fantastic and just broadens our crafting know how - thank you so much for sharing xx
Thxs for this tutorial Chris ... I have Fiskars Embossing System I've never used and this has inspired me to dust it off & use to explore partial embossing 👍👏 💝
Oh my gosh Chris. I searched hi and low to find a good tutorial on doing partial embossing in the middle of the card and wouldn't you know I found yours. I guess I'm just meant to follow more closely. Hoping the day with your daughter was lovely. Viki
There is a whole heap of my videos there by now Viki, the trouble is trying to find what you need. You can always ask me if I've done one on the technique you're wanting, if I haven't, I can always try!❤️❤️❤️
I knew there was a reason I put off clearing out my old stash lol. If I had done so before seeing your video I may possibly have discarded my old dry embossing boards. This has most definitely given me food for thought and a couple of new years resolutions lol. Tyvm Chris x
Thank you so much Chris, this is exactly the information I was looking for to know how to partially emboss. I now realise that I only needed the ‘home made’ plate and one other plate in my sandwich.. no wonder I was feeling too much pressure onthe rollers in my die cut machine…I was using all sorts, and too much! Must get some of those embossing ball pens now 😊
I love Clean and Simple cards that are excellently made. So glad I discovered you, and I love seeing your creations in the FB group. Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge and techniques here.❤️
Love your video! I have a set of those blue Fiskars plates that have sat in a drawer for years--- unused. I found them very tedious. Partial embossing is a wonderful way to make use of them! Thank you for the great idea!
Thanks so much for the detailed lesson. Like the homemade plate. It's just the opposite of the Sizzix diffuser plates. I read somewhere (years ago) that plumbers gasket can be used for partial embossing. I've not tried it yet.
Hello. I'm so glad I found this tutorial! I started out years ago doing parchment craft and did a weekly 2-hour course where I learned so much. Then I started doing so many other techniques and I got a bit lost. This video has brought me back into perspective and given me some ideas to make some more effective projects. To give you back something in exchange for sharing, I got thinking. As you have worked with a light box and are adept at using the stylus, with some good quality vellum you could use those Fiskars plates to advantage as vellum is see-through and easy to emboss. Belly bands or windows for your cards, white on white embossed vellum is very effective. Have a great day and thanks for sharing!🎊🎊
Thank you, Chris! I’ve got so many of those Fiskars texture plates (from doing Polymer Clay) that I just knew I could apply to my paper crafts somehow and just hadn’t quite had the time to play around with them yet. What a great idea!! I can’t wait to pull them out and give them a go! 💜🤟
Thanks so very much Chris! I really enjoyed your video! I have several Fiskars plates and I’m going to give this technique a try again. I’d forgotten about them! ❤️
This is exactly what I was looking for, works great on the Gemini which I was struggling with keeping my image straight. Thank you so much!! I plan to share this with my card group and will credit you and direct them to this link. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
Love your cards! They're so simple and elegant. Thanks so much for sharing your techniques with us. Can you share a link to the cardstock you use? Please and Thank You
Thanks for showing this technique! Of course I just donated my texture plates! Thinking I should be able to use the embossing folders with a stylus as well?
Thank you for this tutorial video Christine. I have a number of these plates and they are rather translucent inside the indents, so rather than do the seeking with the ball tool, is there a reason you don't undertake the activity over a light panel?
Thanks Christine, I never thought of doing partial embossing that way. Great ideas!
Glad it was helpful!😊

Well that's just wonderful!😊😊😊
So Clever!!! But I’m not surprised anymore because that’s You!!!
Thanks
That's so kind thanks😊😊😊
I rub wax paper across the back side of the paper before I start and it makes it so much easier to slide the tool. Great video !
😊😊😊

Fiskars make amazing scissors tho Chrissie, but I'd never heard of texture folders, new to me
I have quite a few pairs of scissors!
Thanks so much for the detailed lesson. Like the homemade plate. It's just the opposite of the Sizzix diffuser plates. I read somewhere (years ago) that plumbers gasket can be used for partial embossing. I've not tried it yet.

What brand is your red embossing ball thingamajig? lol

I'm not sure that enough light would come through an embossing folder over a light box, I might try it to see!
❤❤❤
❤️❤️❤️
cheap as chips ... love listening to the bits of speech that are so expressive
Thank you 😁😁😁
