@@notapplicable761 No I agree with him, the script was all over the place, and not about the day to day life of a naval pilot. It mentioned the airforce several times even.
if youre thinking about going down this path TAKE A THOROUGH EYE EXAM BEFORE YOU EVEN TALK TO A RECRUITER. I was accepted for a Student Naval Flight Officer slot and got one month into training at OCS and was told I could not fly due to an eye condition they found called Keratoconus. Go to an optometrist before you even apply because the eye exams they do at MEPS do not catch these type of conditions.
It’s amazing the amount of training that they go through. First the basic physical training and then the more advanced training to learn how to operate an aircraft using a very advanced flight simulator and eventually to actually operating an aircraft in real life.
I wonder about this, that eventually the sheer amount of training these guys need will burn them out before they finish the courses. Will the day come when they are just too tired to fly the super aircraft evolving each year? How much can you learn in a certain time?
Loved the video, however there was more about training prior to being on a flight deck rather than being "A day in the Life of US Navy Pilots on a $13 Billion Aircraft Carrier". I would still like to see the video of "A day in the Life"
Haha they mixed up the footage quite a bit. When they talked about ocs they were showing footage from the academy. When they talked about the academy they showed footage from ocs. I went to ocs in 2021.
It’s an informative and well made video, however, it’s by no means a day in the life of navy aviator on an aircraft carrier, rather it’s about how a navy pilot is selected and trained to become an officer pilot.
It amazes me me how all this training can be given to a pilot while he is still young enough to fly! When will the time come when just too much training is necessary to pilot ever more advanced aircraft? Will drones become the standard battlefield aircraft?
Yes it's true but their military growth was affected by many things like civil wars , internal conflicts, china and India started indegenous military equipment production in late 90' compared to USAF has advance battleships and aircraft carriers in 60's so china and india have long way to go
I expected more from a video that came out in the last month of 2022. It goes from somewhat informative in the beginning to irrelevant very fast. No mention of the T-45Cs anywhere. Usually you go from piston engines to turbines and on to jets. That is if you're not going into large or medium transports and helos. The introduction of V-22s will make the medium transport wing irrelevant soon.
I was a yellow shirt on the flight deck of the Nimitz for 5 years. The thumb nail of this video gave me cancer , the plane is landing on the bow , (the wrong direction) and there is a director ( yellow shirt) standing in the "landing zone" I can't
At 12:11.. "The US Airforce believes"...... yea right.... the Airforce always returns to a runway exactly where the left it. Let's see them land on a carrier.
Fly high US Navy pilots are the best in the World 🌎. Chinese 🇨🇳 and Russian 🇷🇺 pilots are afraid and back down when they see F22 and the F/A 18 Super Hornets in their tail. They call mama let me go home 🏡 👈😆🤣

This video was NOT a “day in the life” of a USN pilot on board a carrier.
How so?
@@jackschatzle4217it’s a day-in-the-life of the carrier…not the humans
Not even a day in the life of a carrier. Not even sure if it was about Navy or Air Force pilots. Very convoluted script.

Amazing world class training for these young men and women. My son is in the navy and am proud to be a navy mom. HOOYAH ⚓🚢⚓🚢
I was a Naval Airman (Blue Coat) Tractor Driver/ Chockman onboard HMS Ark Royal Fixed Wing Carrier Royal Navy in the 70s. Awesome Times

Very good advice. Does this still apply to individuals such as myself who plan on having Lasik eye surgery?

Awesome video! Thanks. Been looking for a video like this for a while
A lifetime is too short..maybe in my next life I can remember I would very much like to be an aircraft carrier fighter pilot....if possible please

Goodperfomance. Thanks.

I am a foreigner from Thailand. The narrative speed is very clear that I like it.
When I see "Lt. Col." on the aircraft canopy can I assume that is a Marine pilot?
"How to become a fighter pilot"... I assume. Anyway, great video

As a student naval aviator, this video is truly all over the place. Not really a day in the life of a Naval Aviator lol.
What did they get wrong, and what's it really like, then??
$13 Billion I was expecting the Gerald Ford not steam catapults
Then they proceeded to show Air Force pilots lol. Not even the branch they're trying to showcase. At least put some more effort into the content...
I need a winning lottery ticket for buying this advanced f35 simulator..I am modest, if the helmet isnt needed ,I can do without.
Naval Aviators are among the douchiest humans on the planet.
...I worked with them all day, everyday.
Oh dear.. Could you please illustrate that?
I've always admired aviators.
Awesome 👍 video! 👌💪
8:28 Whats a T34C doing at VFA 122 --- the Super Hornet FRS
After PFT the aviator can REQUEST what plane to fly. NavAIR tries their best to accommodate but service needs come first
It also heavily depends on the aviator's pilot training grades and performance
@@matthewchido8450 very true I forgot to mention that.
Wait, was there a test? Are we picking everything apart here?

Can't imagine that the Indian or Chinese Carriers have anything close to this level of capability.

Not to mention the T-6. Nobody in the Navy or Air Force uses the T34 plane to train anymore. That was from 2018 at the latest.
