I spent 3 years briefing F-16 pilots at Hill AFB in the 34th Fighter Squadron. A lot of pilots are cocky, but we need these types of dudes flying (and women - we didn't have any in our squadron, but sister squadrons did). I deployed with the 34th to Kuwait in 98 (Operation Desert Fox). I have mad respect for these guys. My incentive flight was at Luke AFB and my pilot grabbed a cheeseburger and coke before flight. I tried doing the same and I threw it all up on the negative G dive. We flew around for an hour and I was exhausted. This was just the start of the day for these guys. I was spent and needed a nap. Fun times though. We pulled 7.5G's and did BFM over Arizona.

Jaime pulled up that B-2 with escorts so quickly, let the picture sit for 30-40 seconds for them to talk about it, then pulled it down as their attention began moving away to allow the conversation to transition back and flow again smoothly. Young Jaime is truly the best in the game.

Agree in this case, but Jamie pulling up images is often destructive for the flow of the conversation, many times to the point of unbearable since it will totally shift the dialog from something interesting to something random, changing the topic completely when the guest was delivering some story/anecdote/information. Yes it can also keep the conversation more dynamic etcetera.

I was told about an "old war story" many times from a relative in the joint task force. They weren't around for the cold war (after) but I was told we were one keyturn (takes 2) away from ww3 because of bad intel.
I never looked it up, but, I trust the person and the next day after they told me drunk, they said, "I probably shouldnt have told ya that." But once they told me I was their outlet, and heard it a few more times in that state.
Apparently they were given the order, but 1 didnt turn the key. They said, "it didn't feel right." As they were getting their ass chewed, info came in it was actually a false alarm.
I got into a discussion woth another recently...and I was like wait, is this guy right?
You can look it up. We almost launched fighters with nukes and missiles (edit:with nukes) for a bear downing a fence.

My dad flew the F 18 in the marines, so thankfully he never saw combat, but it's crazy to hear even his stories. he now flies red air for the Air Force.

Finally, someone asking an African American citizen about his experience as a Fighter Pilot on UA-cam. None of the "Fighter Pilots" who have their own UA-cam shows have ever interviewed an African American Fighter Pilot for his experiences both good and bad so other African Americans who really want to become military pilots will know how to overcome any kind of prejudices from anyone of any skin color to become military pilots. Thank You!!!!

My ex's father was a fighter pilot in WW2 (Pacific), Korea, and Vietnam. Spent several years as a Test Pilot at Edwards AFB, Calif., and was forced to retire as Wing Commander of the 335th Fighter Squadron at Seymour Johnson AFB, North Carolina. A full bird colonel, he turned down promotion to General so many times stating, "I wasn't made to fly a desk" the Air Force finally forced him to retire after 33 years of service.
