With a live group performance like this, hearing each singer's unique tone working together is so great. The imperfections in their tone and pitch is their greatest strength. Everyone is just slightly flat or sharp off each other, just by a few cents (smaller unit of measuring pitch), but it is this sliver of "incorrectness" that highlight the harmonies and make the group seem bigger and louder than they actually are. Perfect, flat pitch harmonies may be technically perfect, but it sounds unnatural and small and hence why autotune that isn't disguised (think Daft Punk) sticks out obviously.
This is pure human magic....we are meant to be creatures of diversity and sharing our experiences and lifting each other up along the way.
