    I cannot say enough about Mrs Eva Kor. I know her story forward and backwards. She has always been an inspiration to me. She went through the most horrific experiences. She stood up when many didn’t. She started speaking out early. She started Candles museum and brought mass attention again to the escape of Mengele. She ended able to forgive for HERSELF when others were outraged. She was a force in herself. She will forever be missed. May her memory forever be a blessing along with Miriam and their family who perished.

      I had the pleasure of meeting Eva Kor at Utah State University in 2013. To hear her story was amazing, but seeing that tiny woman was something else. Her presence filled the room. She was soft spoken (probably because she was not feeling strong that day having traveled a lot) but fiercely captivating. I thank God in Heaven for her 💙

      @@annereidy7981 the Holocaust was an appaling atrocity against mankind and and the murder of children is particularly evil. However have things really changed in the modern world . Look up the facts of the number of Palestinian children that have been murdered by the state of Israel . It's absolutely shocking , and disturbing .before people start shouting anti semitism think about it. The murder of children is never justified .

Many holocaust have happened in the world, and that since the second w war too. You are right, violence is never justified, especially when it is used to control and discriminate and dispose of those we fear or merely do not understand. Which is why I applaud this Lady.

      @@annereidy7981 you are wrong the comment is legitimate .this is a factual story about how a mother in an incredibly dangerous situation will do anything to protect her child even risking her own life. And that humanity has not improved to stop merciless killing . If the example of Israel is offensive then what about Saudi Arabia and the forced starvation to death of at least 200,000 children in Yemen over the last year .it was mentioned once on CNN snd then no more coverage as the west needs it's oil and doesn't want to offer the Saudi government. The fact of the matter is all human beings are capable of evil with governments committing this evil and and other countries not being prepared to do anything about it.

    The aunt was probably in her own type of depression after losing her husband and son.
    Losing your child changes you.
    Glad she survived to tell her story so the world would know the horrors that happened at that terrible place.

    I am from Terre Haute, Indiana. Eva visited my school and spoke several times upon her experiences. My class visited the CANDLES Holocaust museum various times. She was an incredible woman who taught us the power of justice, peace and forgiveness. She is truly an amazing inspiration of her resilience and her strength.

      I think about this often. And it’s why I advocate to preserve historic sites and houses and to designate memorials… I’m terrified that these sadistic and unforgivable acts will be repeated because people are ignorant of history.

    There are no words to describe Eva,but a few are brave and passionate. Unfortunately after her son called his mother's public forgiveness to her perpetrators "selfish", I had to shut the video off. Forgiveness is SUCH a personal thing, even if done publicly. She did it for herself and no one else. Who is to judge what is in Eva's heart? Forgiveness is not letting someone "off the hook", it's a healing gift that you give yourself. Dr. Paul Jenkins said that. Eva, wherever you are, blessings to you. Your strength and character are a true example of humanity. Thank you for sharing your journey with the world.

    I actually live right down the road from the CANDLES museum in Terrehaute and drive by it almost every day. I remember taking a school trip to the museum and listening to Eva speak and tell her story. It was very humbling to hear that amount of detail from a survivor.

    Transformation is our choice. Eva made that choice. She evicted the hatred and anger from her heart, and by doing so, made room for joy and happiness to reside there. She is a model human being. Shalom Eva.

    What an incredibly strong lady, she is truly amazing and brave. Why nobody would hear her voice is just another reason we as humans should be ashamed she was telling her story and the truth everyone chose to ignore. So sad 😞

    Eva Kor spoke at my central Indiana middle school about both her experiences during the holocaust and how it affected her afterwards. It was so devastating hearing her talk about everything that happened to her. But her spirit was amazingly unbreakable. She was small of stature but her spirit filled the room.

    I’ll never forget Eva, I always feel a certain way when I watch videos about her. I struggle a lot with my emotions and past traumas, and she’s gives me a glimmer of hope. I wish I could’ve told her thank you when she was alive.

      In Germany, children were emotionally neglected for decades..the cold doctrines stayed and intoxicated. No hugs. Moms unable to show affection.

      @the best 11 no no she means before thw war and in general. Germans always had that coldness to them. Everything was about discipline. Society was militarized and even family relations worked like armies in the little. That is why the Germans lacked empathy for the Jews in the beginning.

    She forgave for her not for them. She decided to live with love and not have hate in heart for the rest of her life. Hate can swallow u whole and you live a very sad angry life. She survived a horrific childhood she deserves to live a happy rest of her life.
    She is what describes ‘I forgive but I haven’t forgot’

    I have a TREMENDOUS amount of respect for all those who survived the holocaust including my oldest sons late great grandma I admired, respected and loved her. I enjoyed hearing about how she and her family survived and the more time I spent with her the more I admired her courage to live through such an atrocity and millions of innocent jews were subjected to unnecessary cruelty, singled out, brutally, slaughtered, ostracized,.treated like garbage etc etc etc etc. My oldest son was the first born grandson and great grandson on both sides of the family I raised my oldest son to be proud of his dad's Hebrew heritage and respect those who managed to survived through this dark chapter in humanity that should've NEVER happened in the first place

    I met her in 2007 when she was showing my parents a house in Terre Haute. I was 16 at the time and didn't know much of her background. She was very sweet and I wish I would've asked for more of her stories.

    I've had the honor of being able to meet several survivors from various camps (no Mengele twins)... the horrors they went through and the way they now speak about them and about hope and forgiveness is truly humbling... in my country a lot of those stories have been written down and I've made it my personal mission to read and own every single book... I've been collecting for over 15 years now, and still don't know half of what has been written about it... I did not know about Eva's story until stumbling across this documentary, but I have already told my family that I want her books to read next time they give me a book...

      Not sure if you’ll ever be in Indiana in the US, but she has a wonderful museum called CANDLES. They have a hologram of her there to immortalize her and her story.

    When I was in middle school we took a trip to hear her speak, at the time I don’t think I really processed what she was speaking on but I do remember she carried this warmth with her and was very kind.

    I've seen her lectures and this is a side I didn't know. There are still a few survivors & them telling their stories, giving us firsthand accounts of what happened serve as a reminder that these atrocities happened less than 100 years ago. That it's not impossible for history to repeat itself and that it's up to us to do better & be better for one another.

    Her book was very interesting because it gives you an understanding of what Auschwitz was like from a child's perspective. I can't imagine that horror for an adult, let alone a child, and being experimented on also.

    Interestingly enough Eva lived and raised a family in Indiana and would take a yearly educational trip to Auschwitz. It was on her last one of these trips in which she died. I flew out of Indiana to Krakow on a trip that I had planned about a year in advance, arriving just about a week after her death. Quite the timing.

    I was privileged to meet Eva in June of 2012 at her Candles Museum. She was an amazing woman! So thankful for the opportunity to hear her of her experiences through her own lips. The world has much to learn from her example of acceptance and forgiveness. RIP Eva! ❤️🌹

    Eva was a beautiful person.
    Thank you for this documentary about her life.
    I have PTSD, & I know how it feels to be alone on the planet, struggling with nightmares & pain of trauma.
    I know how valuable a good trauma counsellor is, & how long it takes to process trauma. I see that all survivors of these atrocities needed love, understanding, a safe place to process things, and good trauma counselling. It's sad that everyone struggled on their own to fit back into life after the camps.
    I'm reminded of how Jesus came to heal the brokenhearted. How we need Him💔
    "Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will feel no evil because You are with me..." (Psalm 23) In the pain & the grief, & the suicidal thoughts, we need Him to hold us, comfort us, & be unflinchingly with us.

    I met this lady as a child when she was telling and teaching around the USA in the 80s and 90s. I remember her voice and story. It made a huge impression on me. An amazing woman

    How dare they question a victim’s decision to forgive? Did they go through what she did? Even if other victims decided not to forgive, no one has the right to judge her or them. It’s so annoying who are you if you haven’t walked in her shoes

      I agree. Hatred is a strong emotion very much akin to love. Those monsters did not deserve a thought if that is what any Holocaust victim decided. Forgiveness can free you, if you are able to do it.

    My holocaust was an abusive husband. No-where near what Eva went through, and I would never even try to pretend that it was. But it did make me into a woman who didn't know how to be a mother, and who was so wrapped up in the trauma that empathy became a distant memory. One of my children has forgiven me. The other hasn't, and that's okay. I am struggling to forgive myself.

    I never knew that she lived in Terre Haute. I have always really admired this woman. I have driven through Terre Haute probably 500 times and I never heard about her living there. I've studied her a bit as well, I'm not sure how I missed that. She was an amazing woman.

    If I could hug Eva I would. She was a better person than me. I am not Jewish and I wasnt born until the fifties but forgiveness to the Nazi's is not on my agenda.

    I watched Eva story tonight on channel 7 and I want to tell her thank you for being so strong for all the others who we have lost due to death starvation abuse and or sadness in Auschwitz. Because of you sweet lady I give forgiveness to everyone in my life. I'm sorry you were taken from your parents at such an early age. I cannot even imagine my son as a child going through what you and so many other children and adults had gone through. Thank you for your severance and strength to make sure the world doesn't forget. I will never forget you Eva 🌹

    I listen to a lot of documentaries about the holocaust and WWII at work because I am very interested in these stories. But man, watching them and seeing all of the pictures and faces of the victims is so much harder.

    This brought tears to my heart, it shows how predujust can ruin a race of people, it shows the cruelity of man against man. This lovely, and extremely brave lady must be listened to. Eva is our history, and we must listen!!!!!!

    So sad. No one (leaders) have learned an inch of humanity from this. History is repeating itself every minute of every day, here, globally, in year 2021. It's just being done in different, covert ways. Nothing has actually improved. Some are not covert, but are denied. Part of the human condition? The strongest survive? Is there hope? No.

    I met a survivor when I was a little kid and I always think about her and just how remarkable anyone who goes through something like this can go on. But goodness Eva is just a true inspiration. To go through that and then come out and share such a horrific experience and get so much push back but still pushing back harder to get her story out there and so many others. Her son saying it was selfish was baffling to me, even other survivors upset I get it I do but she is saying that SHE forgives not every survivor and it was the choice she made that felt right to her. I get wanting to move on and also still being hurt but when you don’t talk about it and just sit with all this hatred you are just hurting yourself more. No one needs to forgive but there is also nothing wrong with her decision to.

    When I was in Germany in '74 I had the I don't know the word but I did go to Dachau concentration camp I missed the Olympics and there was another sad thing that year but the concentration camp was unbelievably moving.

    What a marvellous woman, I watched her story on the Holocaust channel. We whinge and whine today and these people whose whole existence was threatened and their loved ones murdered , just bravely got on with life and built new lives from absolutely nothing! What pain they must have carried with think for the rest of their lives. And, through no fault of their own, their own children suffered as well. Rest In Peace Eva, you’re with your beloved parents and sister again. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👵👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

    I saw her story on the Holocaust channel. So unbelievably atrocious what happened not only to her and her dear twin but to them all. Innocent people one and all. Mans inhumanity to man is indescribable and the return to savagery is not that far below the surface. As is attested by how many of what you would normally call sane, cultured, orderly people who descended into barbarity. G- D all those who tried to help. 🙏🙏🙏👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺

    Her book/story is an incredible reading experience. I wish every parent would make their young 12yr-17r year old kids read this over the summer.

    God willing this will never happen again. Between what the Nazi’s and the Japanese did during WW2 was truly horrific. I wish people would stop comparing wearing a mask during the pandemic to the Holocaust. It’s insulting and nowhere close to the same thing. I don’t know how many of my distant relatives perished in the Holocaust in Russia and Greece. Eva died within the past few years and I hope she is resting in eternal peace now!

    To forget the past is to allow the past to happen again. My grandfather was a ww2 Soldier in Italy and my grandmother a nurse. Word traveled slow back then. Once Italy knew of the camps they hung Mussolini and turned on the Germans. This meant some Italians including my grandfather were taken prisoner by the Germans near the end of the war. They both survived and came here to Canada in 1950. They didn't talk about it EVER! probably too much trauma.

    Yes she’s forgiven the atrocities that happened to her and her family, which is great for her own mental health. However she is part of the reason we all understand more of this tragedy today so I’m so grateful for her!
