😂 i would never use anything else than poseidons for deep dives, open or not. These have been where no regulators have even dream.

Been Diving with poseidon regulators since 1995. First cyclon 5000 and now xstream. I love them😀

so these aren't actually purging automatically when you open the tank. its because they're upstream regulators and they need to get up to operating pressure before the seal is created! Diving Jetstreams myself but the XStream is just a mini Jetstream... super powerful

Poseidon makes a great reg I have a setup but it's older and I need to rebuild it

I have a friend that swears by these regs too. Appreciate the insight on their unique features.
P.S. when you attached it to the tank I couldn’t help but notice that the hoses were on the left instead of the typical right-hand side. Is that for a specialist setup or is the first stage on upside down?

Tip: loose the swifel just another thing that will fail, and put pack the original poseidon hose. The original hoses do not kink and the lengt of the primery hose is ridiculous.

I run the XStream regulator. I have run Poseidon regulators since 1977. The XStream is a cold water, warm water, DEEP water (rated to 200 meters) regulator. The purge is strong, but something you get use to. As for servicing, I have a place in Florida I send mine to. As for price? It is the only regulator you will ever need. So no buying a separate regulator for cold water or deep, or tri-mix. This regulator does it all. Not to mention its ease of breathing… nothing I have ever tried comes close.

That is pretty sweet ! Would def consider running this if I didn’t discover the FFM. Great video

When I finally bought my own regs, I went with Poseidon X-Streams, I don't do tech diving (yet) but absolutely no regrets. If I'd had them when first doing my open water, yeah, they'd have been a bit intimidating. I've had it in my mouth when purging before, just.. hold your lips loose and let it work (and marvel at how clean your teeth feel now). One thing I've noticed is that you really need to open the tank valve fast, don't be gentle with them (don't pointlessly abuse them either), or the piston in the 2nd stage won't move into place under pressure and it'll free flow. Think Ford Vs. Ferrari, "It's a sports car, so you need to drive it like a sports car." I haven't had to have it serviced yet, and I hope my local shop owner and I can still be friends if I ever do have to have it serviced. My understanding is they're a bit of a pain.

Poseidon lacks service technicians in America's. On the other hand, OCEANIC offers pretty much the same regulator but has more technicians due to its brand popularity in the America's.

What Oceanic regulator do you think is “pretty much the same”?

I love my poseidon regulators. Started out in the 80’s with a poseidon jet-stream but migrated to the xstream. 1st stage is very sturdy & heavy. Use it in cold and warm waters. The original hoses are very tough and rugid. The 2nd stages are light and move the air away from your face. They breathe reliable in whatever position and depth you are underwater. Best for me.
