What happen to the boat; must have been a scam. You and Dexter going to court…. Mark is dead
First of all, wrong channel bud. And why would it be a scam? Boat is done and I'm done with it. Why would I go to court? Mark assaulted dexter, and they already went to their first hearing... I'm not involved. If you want to act like a gossipy little girl, at least get it right, sister.
What's so strange about DIN fittings and poseidon regs? Nice going bubba
Nothing strange about DIN, that's not what makes them unique
Pleas do not forget that infancy areas of the world people earn 100-200USD to barely survive month to months. The Asian market and especially the Chinese is still a market. So companies might be forced to sell dive courses at a dumping price if they upsell the advanced course right after the OWD. The dive industry is a business. They produce certifications. Depending on the business model of the dive center they ONLY make money on courses so they sell like crazy and might even push for dumping prices from time to time. Quite a few guides in Asia or Egypt are not certified DMs. An IDC is a lot of money for them and it often results in paying off debts for months or even years!!! But the diving industry is a business! Competition is super strong in some parts of the world. The perception is often that you buy a certificate independent of the ability to master the skills. An OWD with 3 days duration for ~300 USD is average market price in many parts of Asia. PADI is increasing prices which will heat up competition even more. The industry seems to go in favor of the big institutions while the local staff will feel even more pressure to produce certifications. Do I like this development? NO! It shows that the competition between the large institutions and major market players is too low. Instead of added value and quality/ safety we will see less trained divers and more diveshops with highly motivated staff lose the run for $.
I'm a bit surprised you only went with approximately 1.25x per person for gas volume (you mentioned each person carrying an extra 1000L). The minimum safety factor I was trained at was 1.5x even in an open-water situation. You may want to try a SM configuration for your deco bottle in the future once you're comfortable with deco dives now that you've done sidemount. I prefer a deco bottle being secure and tight to my body while swimming at depth regardless of the 'main' configuration. Also looks like you may need to take a look at your right-post first-stage. O-ring may be damaged or the DIN 'turret' might be loose. Tiny bubbles when you were descending/ascending.
what do you mean, sidemount configuration? is it not?? all i would need to do is adjust oring placements on belt and maybe clips on tank, as well as shorter rope on single ender, which is what I'd do in sidemount anyway. but how am I going to wear a sidemount bcd lol, if thats what you mean? ITs just a matter of a few adjustments that I cant do underwater, but have now. This one wasnt my dedicated twins bcd, so not too worried about permanent adjustments that day.
Glad you tried sidemount, I am a big guy myself it taken a while to get mine right
were can i buy the entire kit? cable and transmitter
Thank you!.
How much that kind of sidemouth course?.interested and how manny days?.

I Agree thank you
What length hoses do you owners prefer? I'm 6'1" 250lbs. I like neat setups.
are the second stages really that size? looks quite big, heavy and bulky
That's how big they are. Pretty standard
I've been using the downstream piston design Poseidon Jetstream for 40 years without a glitch. Half the people on any dive boat think you're weird and going out of your way to try to be different. Some people chuckle and others give you dirty looks. Same thing with my Forcefins.
isn't annoying to have always to switch between reg and tank ? For me it's the main draw back for sidemount i use to do double but not anymore.
@@TS-hz4lx annoying to switch regs? When it comes to sm, that's the least annoying thing. That's easy

@@Richard1976 see any bubbles in second half, or just right when I go under?
@@DecoLounge-scuba not in the second part. What happened? (Never too old to learn) Haven't seen this when I dive with my buddy. With your regualator in mouth, I sometimes I have same issues, I think because the the d ring is bit heavy and its pulling on me or its pulling on some other way. I think its highly annoying.
@@Richard1976 nothing happened. I had just put my head underwater and hadn't adjusted it yet. Everything went perfect
Why do you even have backup computer... not just a depth and timer one?
Why would I buy a timer, if I have a training facility full of computers that can do same thing?
@@DecoLounge-scuba less wear and tear on more expensive equipment
@@arthur1670 I guess
@arthur1670 wear and tear on computers? Like, what? Scratches? if you get a decent a computer should last for years. Or are you just insanely cheap
@@connorwilsonbikes111 exactly, definitely cheap. But it depends where you are Going, at home he’s got space ones/ us common fock a shop. if I end up being a tech diver spend all the money to go to a remote fabulous location. You might want Copy of your dive computer anyway, service kit for your regulator, spare dump valves ect otherwise it might be a very expensive free dive lol
Do you think you can have a local discussion on radio or rv station. Perhaps in local language have translator, about the dangers of deep diving. I am halfway through my deco class now. Dive planning is mandatory

👍🤿😎🇵🇭! Haven’t tried side mount yet! Let me know if you prefer over doubles, that’s more of what I am used to but even in tropical water I still need thermal protection as being underwater for a longer time I still get a little cold!
It's a complicated answer, I'm not sure yet. I do love doubles
what is the difference between recreational sidemount and sidemount specialty?
It's the same thing. Ir you mean recreational sm and technical sm?
sm relax my body a lot than twins xD
I hope I like it more later
Plan the dive and dive the plan !
For recreational my ppO2 alarm is set to 1.4, what's the thought process behind 1.6 for this dive? Is it where the alarm is set but you monitor and stay well under?
For recreational I'm set to 1.4 as well, but am pushing it a little more for tech
A tec diver should not exceed 1.4 ppo2 on open circuit for the working portion of the dive. A 1.6 ppo2 is used during the decompression stage to maximize off gassing. The down side of using 1.6 is that you increase the rate of CNS buildup.
@@neilgarrett6271 what do you mean when you say "1.6 is used to maximize offgassing"? That doesnt make any sense. We use 1.6 only in our dive planner, to make sure we never reach that maximum amount, which would lead to oxygen toxicity. Of course we are never getting to that limit anyway. I mean the PPo2 of air at 45m is like 1.04 or something like that (off the top of my head), so it's just to make sure the planner gives us the right deco stages to eliminate possible dcs, without any CNS ect. You must of read somewhere that 1.4 is for rec and 1.6 is for tech I guess, but how you use those numbers for normal dives is to set your dive computer pp to 1.4 max, which is a conservative or contingency level.
😮
@@DecoLounge-scuba No, @neilgarrett6271 is correct. You mentioned you are TDI, so your limits are 1.4 for bottom gas and 1.6 for deco gas. It is not true, you dot reach 1.6, because you used Ean50 for deco part. E.g. you switch at 21 meters, where the ppO2 is exactly 1.6 and that is the deco partial pressure, which opens oxygen window to accelerate the decompression.
What was the purpose of that dive? All I saw was sand. Was it just to do a tech dive?
Yes. As I said in the video, I need to get more deco diving experience before moving on to next level.
@ Gotchya! I missed that part!
Do you have good cave diving there? I just got my nsscds Cave Diver rating.

What about breathability at 150 feet?
@@stevecoffey4884 they are top of the line
1:11 The dive example: I strongly recommend to have a look at the Air gas density and nitrogen toxicity (nitrogen partial pressure) properties at 45 m as you used it as bottom gas.
You think we don't?
@@CritterHunter then everything is fine.
Yes it is. It was a deco dive.
It says ".21 back gas", that could be air (not a good idea if you ask me), or 21/35 triox, which is the preferred gas for 45m.
@tonfleuren3536 why isn't it a good idea? You have any idea how much helium costs? Every ANDP and tdi extended range course is taught using air, and extended range is even 55 meters. That's why all the agencies teach how to do proper deco dives on air, other wise you got a $2000 extra per dive, that no one would do. Save that for trimix
2 days open water course, is he a real PADI Instructor...hes crazy.. he is making the Dive Organisation Bad...
Ya it's not good
TWO DAYS?!?! 😮😮😮 No way! I hope no one falls for that nonsense...
They don't know any better
Definitely on the list! Not really interested in diving alone, but always intrested in building skills. Thanks, great video!
Any time!
I would guess this is an offer to get you signed up. Then they hit you with the extras like air, equipment hire etc. Also I would guess that somewhere hidden in the small print this is open water part B only. So e-learning and confined water is expected to be already done. A lot of the time dive shops have a heavily discounted headline price and then screw you over on extras!
1 instructor having 10 students with no experience. I wouldn't want to be in that group. I still think people should learn how to dive at their local diveschool and preferably a place with no great underwater sight. Over here in the Netherlands we are lucky to have 5 meters sight. My advanced deep dive at 30 meters looked like the moon. Nothing to see and completely dark. Current diving at the zeelandbridge where currents can be really strong. I think you learn more with this than in tropical water with 30 meters sight etc. My girlfriend had traing through NOB and pretty much took an entire month training.
I have the tecline powerjets. Quite hard and heavy but excellent for finning.
I would look at the reports of the plane at the Civil Aviation Authority if it’s all in order bargain basement here we come
Thank you for making this 🙏
I understand the idea, but at some point you start out printing your customers to other activities. Also the cost of insurance is adding so much to the bottom line costs it drives up even the bargain class investment
In short Buy Once, Cry Once.
i went to the web site looking for recreational dive prices but found non, not even an estimate. as for the courses, in my very humble opinion, scuba courses are snake oil. scuba instructors/dive operators are more annoying than girls on walking streets (or angeles city). they are always trying to sell you a course, you don't need.
There are certainly some courses not every one needs, but you are absolutely delusional if you think real training and certification isn't a must to be a diver. Also, what website are you talking about?
@Corleony101 You're why cert cards are required for cylinder fills.
Every dive shop i search have prices for rental gear and have prices for scuba training.
100% it's life support equipment buy once cry once and a good instructor is always better then a cheap class
Great vid... hey what's happening with the boat was enjoying those videos
Finished and selling!
Agreed
I can almost guess who the instructor is, and where it is. Have done all my training and diving in the Philippines and am currently a Master Diver, so basically still a novice in my book. In my rescue diver class there were 3 of us. A local girl and a European guy. The guy was nice, but a little rough skill wise, at the time. In our surprise response drill, we assigned him to shore duties. The girls husband bought the resort, and the former student is now an instructor there. I loved the resort, but the instructors I used all refuse to teach there now. Not sure of the specifics, but I know PADI had to get involved. I will continue to dive, and have my son continue his training at another resort, with the same instructors I used. Things are cheaper in the Philippines, no doubt, but this sounds like the direction that this resort was going with this instructor! Shame because the girl who now owns it was really a great person, and I liked her husband as well.
They get notorious around town. And for good reason
They get notorious around town. And for good reason
@ problem is most business is tourists who are merely looking for the most, for the least cost. A reputation works against you locally, but until Padi pulls their name away and refuses to certify, tourists will never know, or care, until there is a tragedy that cannot be covered up. And in the Philippines, that too is surprisingly easy.
the only time i think this could be done if is a referral but there is no way it can go from start to finish. if so i wont dive with that person
I've seen it many times. Scuba factories
Well said, great stuff.
