Hello there brother, welcome to the hobby !! Great job on the u joints, and awesome that you shared the PN's and the measurements too !! It sounded like you said the rear u joint didn't settled into the two notches on rear yoke? I hope that's all it was... Keep at it, and keep sharing.. Don't be afraid to ask for help.. Good luck on the engine pull !!!
I am having the same problem. Masterpro 498 caps to the drive shaft wont fit. It fits perfect on the pinion yoke: right size should be 1” cap one end and 1.063 the other end. Talking about the rear u joint
Thanks for sharing, I need to replace mine. I just replaced the autolite carburetor 1100 with the Daytona universal carburetor chv. It's easy and runs great.
Hi Ray. You mentioned wanting to replace your leaf springs. I purchased and installed some leaf spring supports (they have the over and under types) and they work great and now my rear tires don't rub.
yeah on a forum someone mention to check the mounts or possibly tires out of balance. For now i'll leave it alone because in the next month or so i'm pull the motor out for a rebuild so i'll replace those then
@@NTEMEK4 I had the rear U joint uneven on the U shape bracket. When you install the driveshaft back on and slide the U brackets over the the rear U joint before you tighten it bolts the drive shaft can still move and when tighten the bolts I didn't notice the U joint moved causing the driveshaft not to be centered
A vice is your best friend when doing u joints. Nice job though

@@autoraysgarage8938 nice
How did you fix the vibrations?
I didn’t the driveshaft center on the rear once I center it the vibration went away
@@autoraysgarage8938 Thanks. What do you mean by "center"? Wasn't the rear U joint in the right position?
