Glad you enjoyed! I hope to bring some of that Advance Wars battlefield strategy, and some unique tactics and style, to Fire Emblem with my upcoming Fangame!
I imagine it similarly to how I DM. Just because someone rolled a "miss" doesn't mean you have to describe it as them missing. You can describe it as them hitting it in such a way that it didn't deal damage. Maybe they hit with the wrong part of the weapon. Maybe they didn't put enough force behind the attack. Maybe they hit a particularly durable part of the tank.
@@josephford2226 In D&D, yes, because that's *explicitly* how armor works in that system. In FE, heavy armor is entirely represented by the defense stat, usually compensated by low speed. Tanks are armor if nothing else! ...and now that I write that, I realize tanks should have low speed, too: get doubled but shrug it off. And their cannon should be inaccurate, but they could have an accurate machine gun as an alternative.
@@NicD I definitely did find the high speed for the tanks to be odd. And, I agree it doesn't work with how the stats are represented. But, what I said isn't COMPLETELY without merit in Fire Emblem. There are "miss" animations in some Fire Emblems that involve them blocking with a shield instead of dodging.
@@josephford2226 as opposed to a knight in heavy armor slowly advancing on an enemy, a tank has an engine and treads, not speedy by any means, but relative to the rest of the things here? i would say a tank wouldnt exactly be slow
I don't know how to make the factory not attempt to load a "moving unit" sprite sheet even though its "not moving" sprite animation is fine. this engine only deals in sheets, and won't let me realign individual frames.
@@JasonGodwin69 It's all good. It was pretty funny when it moved. :D It really sold the atmosphere of arcane technology, suicidal bandits and mysterious noses.
You posted my comment. Tho its lucky they even made it Close enough to a tank to hit it. So maybe they have a 40% chance to get within striking distance. .
It was easy. I copypasted Advance Wars sprites from Spriters Resource, recoloured them to match Fire Emblem sprite colours so they'll switch colours properly when on the foe's side, I made new classes and new generic units of those classes, added them onto the map, ensured the factories have 0 move so they can't move across the map and drop tanks on the foe, ensured the factories have 99 CON so Tanks can't pick the factories up using Rescue and deposit somewhere else, and then I got the conversation to look right. There were problems with the factories spawning existing units, teleporting them to the factory in the process even if they were already on the map somewhere else, but I fixed that.
I'd play a crossover like this.

Some of the bandits straight up missing a tank just, imagining it on my head was just hilarious Lmao
Yeah, great concept, strange execution.

"Sir they have tanks and we have buff guys with axes"
"We can take them"
"But they can move on the same turn theyre deployed"
"We surrender"
Robin: "Call Ambush Spawns fair again! Call ambush spawns fair again! Call them good game design one more time!"
"I hope that's its nose..."
LMAO
150mm cannon?? total overkill for footsoldiers
Gotta say they put up a pretty good fight half damaging a tank with axes
Cant wait to see bomber, neotank and battleship crossover lmao
You are a friggin genius I love this 🤣
Is it just a trick of the wind or did I see the factory... move?

Shouldnt the tanks be completely invulnerable to regular hits?
People talking about bandits missing the tanks.
Meanwhile me thinking about how strong those bandits have to be to be able to damage a TANK.
And then aerogators descent from the Moon.
Imagine smoking THAT much crack
I like it, subscribed
Wish we can have animations
How do these people have a 44% chance to hit a tank?
funny numbers

Yoooo this is so cool, how much time did it take you to do this?

Ever hear of kartal?
Not surprised Fire Emblem and Advance Wars have had crossovers before, but his Advance Wars hack looks fun! I'll have to play that one soon.
I actually always wanted a fire emblem themed advanced wars game, though the name definitely wouldn’t fit lol
I don't know... I'm pretty sure "Emblem Wars: Insert Subtitle Here" would work great. Perhaps "Emblem Wars: Advance Conflict".
@@JasonGodwin69 idk I just feel like advanced wars title doesn’t fit with medieval fantasy warfare 😂
tri attack with mech, tank and mega tank when? lol
Medium tank
Neotank
Mega tank
Because we don't pull punches
Omegalul.
Bruh they really shoot bandits with the cannon! Not even AW tanks can do this
That's just over kill
