@@captainkiwi77 I was at the Atlanta Championship as well and the pitch bend after the screamer into Hey Jude was a feeling of bliss I'll never reach again lmao. I am honestly crying because I love this show so much and I'm so glad I was able to see every performance of 2019 to see the progress from beginning to end. From what I know (I could be wrong, but), the contract was renewed. I’m a horn line member of Surf and we were scheduled to perform there this summer before the season was cancelled.
Quin Dumouchelle our Band Director said that we were gonna host either Crown or Vanguard because the new locations were Corpus Christi (Not really, but the stadiums close) and another area in San Antonio on that same day. Things could've changed but i doubt it ngl. Their was a video on the DCI channel like before the pandemic about the new locations and how the contract ended with the Alamodome. It is sad to see that the Southwestern Championship won't exist anymore, but hey hopefully my school gets to host a corp for the 2021 season.
Bluecoats got 2nd in 2019! They were placing 1st though most of the year, but they lost to the Blue Devils (I believe you reacted to their show Ghost Light already). The two shows were really close but Devils pulled ahead by about a tenth of a point in finals. edit: You haven't reacted to Ghost Light yet, but that'd be a great show from 2019 to watch as well!
I've been a drum corps fan for 40 years. There have been cleaner shows. There have been more difficult shows. But there's never been a show that I loved more. Love you Bluecoats.
I had the privilege to see this show (as well as quite a few over the past few years) in person. It's one of the most incredible experiences ever. And the trumpets wailing on a high note is a screamer :)
I've marched in that stadium four timea for state. It is a tremendous feeling to hear the crowd cheering while on the field. I miss high school marching so much :(
2016 Carolina Crown This was an overall amazing show. The brass and color guard were amazing and the percussion improved a lot. I recommended you watch the finals run. I will attach it to the comment. www.dailymotion.com/video/x4rzv59
The squeal at the end of the note that guy was playing (when you asked about it) was just that player "holding over", in this case by design. He extended his note after the rest of the band stopped so that it showcased his range. Once in awhile you may hear a player pinch off a note at the end of his high note and that is known as a "Kiss Off", but I'm pretty sure that's not what you are asking about. Hope some of this helped.
This is in my hometown. The Alamodome (the stadium where this took place) was opened in 1993, and I was a member of the stadium camera crew for the first three years before I moved to Las Vegas. I'm back living in the area again, but I was actually out of state when this show took place. Wish I could have been there to see it live.
Hi Courtney so this was the show from earlier in the season they changed up their closer and the high note that you from the trumpet is known as a screamer note. We call them screamer notes because when you play so high it starts to sound like someone actually screaming. The horn snap on the other hand is where the brass just bring their horns to the playing position very quickly and you have to snap to that position pretty quick *hints the name horn snap*

Also, at the end of the preformance, it isn't the end, you forgot to react to the part when they played "Hey Jude" my all time favorite part!
You should go old school and watch 1991 Star of Indiana's show 'Roman Images'. One of the best horn lines ever and the closing drill is fantastic!
Two more suggestions of Corp shows to watch are The Cavaliers show “The Machine” from 2007 and The Cadets 2011 show “Angels and Demons”!!!
I would love it if you would react to the 2016 Bluecoats! They won the world finals that year and their show is amazing I think you’d enjoy it!
Highly recommend Blue Devils 2019
*This is now a DCI Reaction Channel* 😂
10:10 those contras( tubas) are like 45lbs at least the ones at my school are they fucking hard to do snaps with too
7:11 when a trumpet player really high like that, it’s called a scream

Time to watch the blue devils 2019 show!
I suggest you watch the finals version of this show. The ending completely changed so they play Come Together
Courtney's catching on to visual GE elements of color and movement. Her education in the activity is progressing nicely lol
Haha thank you I appreciate that! :) :) :) :)
Bluecoats 2016 is the one to watch to really see them at their peak
@10:15 Courtney if only you knew the soul crushing depths of how heavy those tubas are. LOL *triggered*
Nooooo! This is midseason!😭 they should’ve put the link the the finals version. The ending is so much better!!!
