This is all recorded and streamed there's a proof of it in his VODs and he went on to debate Finkelstein a hack of a scholar who apparently knows more about the issue yet all he did was call Destiny names like a middle schooler, as funny as it was this is as helpful for Palestinians as Amber Heard being the face of a feminism.

People also dislike him because some of his views have changed over time. For some people it's the lifestyle he promotes. And the worst, for some people it's simply because he is a "lefty"
Personally, I don't like how he treats most of his opponents, but he has gotten better about not actively attacking them. He also uses a lot of linear thinking setups to force his opponent into an answer that isn't the best for them or to "clarify/change" their perceived stance which either makes their argument weaker or causes the opponent's audience to believe/ take the opponents words less seriously. And there's plenty of bad faith ways to do this, and plenty of acceptable ways. He's done plenty of both.

I love how the internet has collectively decided that Wikipedia is not a valid source. Wikipedia is absolutely fine if you want basic facts about a situation, and also for collecting the prominent views on those facts. Unless destiny is writing a masters on the topic Wikipedia is more than enough (and he has done more than Wikipedia)

They got shut down and in their twitter post tried to blame panda, who were running their own circuit with a Nintendo partnership, even though they had literally zero involvement with the closing of smash world tour. However everyone just ran with what smash world tour said and boycotted the only smash circuit they had left which was from panda. Ludwig and moist critikal both made big videos with no actual research beyond the smash world tour tweet they read and fully blamed panda, resulting in even more bad press being sent towards panda for no reason. Neither apologized after new info came out though and idk even if they know what actually happened cause they prolly don’t care. And to top it off panda was planning to continue their circuit finale which was postponed cause of the boycotting, but the weekend they were planning to have it was the same weekend that Ludwig held a massive smash tourney which would make the panda one worthless cause nobody would show up or watch theirs instead of Ludwig’s. This wasn’t Ludwig’s fault this time though cause panda hadn’t officially announced their tourney for that weekend yet. And to top it off the Ludwig tourney sent a bunch of money over to the people at smash world tour to help get them back on their feet after they completely fucked over panda for no good reason. A real long explanation so my bad.
TLDR: ludwig spouted false info after hearing one side of a story, never corrected it and resulted in another big smash circuit getting shut down unnecessarily

The thing is, destiny is usually right on the facts, as he is here. Even if he did use wikipedia for his research, wikipedia can still be a useful tool to lead you back to more trustworthy academic sources. I think twitter just took an opportunity to dog pile someone they dislike.

You just can't win. All the research anyone actually does on their own is worthless. All sources are discreditable.
How do people think historians learn and research topics? Does being written in a book suddenly make all the information infallible? Is everyone that lives in Palestine an expert on every occurrence with perfect unbiased information?
Hate the guy all you want. Hate his takes, whatever. He's putting in genuine effort. If all that means nothing then we're all doomed to ignorance because no amount of personal research will be enough. If his research was so bad, the almighty historians would have been able to pick him to pieces and it would be obvious. That was not the case.

To my actual take on the topic: slime completely in the wrong, destiny bringing qt into it was wrong, Ludwig responding in the same manner also weird but warranted. However, ludwig defending slime is weird. Overall, nothing was stated against Destiny’s take on Israel Palestine and just devolved into petty insults at each other. All a bunch of teenagers flinging shit at each other

Ludwig is an archetype, not a real person. I've seen his archetype so many times in my life, just one of those wannabe popular guys who think he's cooler than he actually is, pretends to be nice to your face then sh talks you behind your back. Also wikipedia is open source, open to edit. Generally, I can say in software, which is my area of expertise, open source software which anyone can join and contribute to/edit/fix are the most secure free from malicious stuff in it, generally superior in important aspects, cause as a company for example your close sourced stuff is made by X people where the Open Source project is made by the world/anyone.
This applies in concept to wikipedia, so generally, important parts at least are mostly correct there, or if not they will eventually be fixed. So as an entry point it's the perfect way to get into something.
