I disagree because the first time when I heard it was so heroic, its like the game wanted me to do the hardest things. When I beat her and came here to know that its Yi's all along I was in goosebumps. I dont think it would have hit harder like this, if it was used before
Those who got to this point of the game should be determined enough to beat Eigong. Perfect timing to play Yi's theme since it is foreshadowing our triumph.
I can't get enough of this game. I have a save just before Eigong that I always come back to just to experience this fight over and over again with different builds. Here's hoping there will be more of the game. A hard mode/speedrun mode and extra bosses would be a awesome!
I love this song... it kinda has the epicness of a final boss fight together with the sad melancholic undertone of the fate of a dying race being decided: if it is going extinct with dignity or continue existing as immortal mindless monsters
@cherandshane2683 The story can be one of justice to punish the wrong or revenge to break tradition. One of light, another of dark. Innovation works perfectly
I also had an amazing time fighting this boss, the first time I've beaten her was so satisfying that I was flabbergasted by the ending of the game. And most importantly, this is the first "hardcore" game I ever played in my ENTIRE life (I'm 19 at this moment). This is the best game to start getting into Hardcore type of games.
Eigong's third phase was somehow the easiest for me. I took a fighting style for this fight that focused mainly on parrying and using a fully charged Full Control Talisman explosion whenever I could to get huge bursts of damage in. Getting through phases 1 and 2 was difficult as hell because I was focused on mastering her attack patterns so when the third phase comes around and adds a new attack in mid-air, it didn't actually take me that long to get through it, I only had to watch out for that one attack because the others I was able to rely on muscle memory for the most part. She was still a hard as hell boss though. I only barely beat her third phase with just a little bit of health left.
I got this ending my first run, and decided to go back to see the bad ending instead. I was so disappointed in not hearing this theme and fighting 3rd phase again that I could barely even focus on the ending. I didn't even close the game before I went back to fight Eigong again.
Other than choir and the track being epic there are no similarities... Actually, even the choir sounds different. Not exactly sure what do you mean. It's fire, I do agree, but it doesn't sound like Dark Souls at all, if that's what you are saying 😅
Holy shit, so 3rd phase actually Yi's theme? & that true ending cutscene ties incredibly well into the mythology of Hou Yi (that character who Yi is based on). If you look at Hou Yi's wiki page, it shows Hou Yi shooting arrow in pose exactly Yi shoots the Rhizomatic arrow in the game. Whoever did the lore, storyboarding, writing for this game is a goddamn genius. My mind is blown.
From what I (😅believe to) understand, the lyrics are saying the words of the 1st verse of the 'Dao/Tao De/Te Jing/Ching (aka the 'Dao Virtue Classic') written by Philosopher Laozi, a.k.a. Li'er, 🙂a.k.a. "Lear," but in Korean. 3 of the 4 words in the first 1st line I deduced is 'Do ga Do [ya?]...' which is Korean for 'Dao ke Dao [?]...'; In the 'Tao Te Ching,' 1st verse reads, "Dao can be (spoken as) Dao..." and the following lines are, "..is not Eternal/True/Pure/Greater Dao. Name can be (defined as) Name, is not the Eternal/True Name." 😁Basically? The Dao/Tao existed before we named it. Names and words have power, but are temporary - changeable. Everything continues, and resets. For example, 'Solarians' are not the defining point of life. Their actions to hibernate only set the motions for 'Apemen' to gain their knowledge for future generations to come. 😌'Immortality' did NOT Immortalize the species, which Eigong did not learn in her end. The roots & the Millenia-worth of lives & memories stored within have been reset to start anew, lacking integrity in comparison to other souls like 'Lear' or 'Heng.' 🙏Hope this helped, and/or was interesting. 😅Probably too much? I would translate the rest, 🥴but I'm.......feeling lazy. Haha!
Just beat 3rd phase Eigong, and this soundtrack embodies the triumph you feel after such a hard fought battle!
everybody gangsta until Eigong hits you with the > > > \ / 一 \ / 一 - - -
I know what this means, and I don't know how to feel about that...
Top tier comment hahahaha!
"You can't hear words"...
please, accept this like.
oh... my... god... dude...
"Damn you Eigong, it's my turn to cook!"
"THERE IS 3RD PHASE?" - the anthem
"Gotcha! Time to see the true--"
>she's infected
>she stands up
"oh shit"
"Well. Time to be a *big damn hero* isn't it?"
It’s so ironic that this is Yi’s theme even though I’m getting my ass kicked.
At first, you fear Eigong.
Now, Eigong fears you.
Oh gosh SO ITS HIS THEME
Boss: Your resistance is pointless. Stop it or...
(The main character's theme starts playing)
Boss: Oh... no...
That's ur 100th like. 🤓
The boss: "Why do I hear boss music?"
"If you want the true ending, you'll have to come and get it" -Cat vergil granny, probably
He's HIM
I really only wish this song was used more before this so it would be naturally shown as his theme
indeed, that third phase wont last till it finished the whole song.
Yi didn't know who he was... until the end.
I disagree because the first time when I heard it was so heroic, its like the game wanted me to do the hardest things. When I beat her and came here to know that its Yi's all along I was in goosebumps. I dont think it would have hit harder like this, if it was used before
maybe not using the same music, but the same motif on other parts of the game so we can associate it with him
@@ikarus4570 This. The motif is missing and would have helped a lot. That being said, this is an amazing piece. :D
That feeling when you finally lock the third phase down and it sounds like the music is encouraging you to finally finish it. So good.
This song is so good when you get to hear more than the first 5 seconds before Eigong turns you into a puddle of blood
New Game+ please and thank you.
@@mikaelm5367 Also a boss refight mechanic (minibosses too).
There’s a boss rush mod
They have that now it’s called battle memories and it’s in the title menu
eigong fr fighting a 7 phase boss because we fully heal everytime we use a pipe vial
9 phases :)
And counters for her every move
She's fighting Sol Yi, the lord and savior who leads everyone on this path 😊😊
On the path to extinction.
When I heard this theme all that was going through my head "Shit I NEED to win"
歸於大道,化做日月星辰,繁茂奼紫嫣紅。
I love this song... it kinda has the epicness of a final boss fight together with the sad melancholic undertone of the fate of a dying race being decided: if it is going extinct with dignity or continue existing as immortal mindless monsters
The 10th Sol.
Honestly, I half expected his sol seal to be that of justice, but innovation also makes sense.
@cherandshane2683 The story can be one of justice to punish the wrong or revenge to break tradition. One of light, another of dark. Innovation works perfectly
Yi: this it, Eigong! my theme is start!
3nd Eigong: oh, really? (use slash that cuts the world)
Yi: WTF
True, but through pengai and new kunlun YI alone is the honored one
@@art_eto6413 Yi alone is the parryest one
What's stronger? A slash that cuts the world, or a parry that counters that 💀💀
IT'S HERE
It's our HERO
One thing that i absolutely adore about this theme is that the lyrics are from one of the most popular books/literature in Taoism.
This is honestly fucking incredible
Dang, this one is FIRE! Especially the first part!
You listen to this theme and you know that you've experienced a masterpiece!
Yi's theme is great, it's second only to the Ori soundtrack imo
Gotta be one of the best bosses in gaming, also heard she’s based on the final boss of sekiro, gotta play that game
You ever just hear a boss’ 3rd phase music hit and instantly know you’re in big trouble
"Time to lock in lil bro🙏" - Eigong
More like Heng saying that
Masterpiece
This was one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought, holy shit
I also had an amazing time fighting this boss, the first time I've beaten her was so satisfying that I was flabbergasted by the ending of the game. I like that final drum hit referencing eigong's theme and the first cutscene theme (which I know are practically the same to a certain point)
the sound also plays when you load a save file!
This has to be the most epic final boss fight music in video game history.
!FUN FACT! did you know that the ending of this theme is the start of every sols theme it symbols the end of the era of sols
I swear this is motivation or victory
Eigong's third phase was somehow the easiest for me. She was still a hard as hell boss though. I only barely beat her third phase with just a little bit of health left.
I love how Yi's theme, like other heroic leitmotifs, is very triumphic, but its really cool hearing a triumphic motif in a chinese style.
i need an extended version so badly
I got this ending my first run, and decided to go back to see the bad ending instead.
I was so disappointed in not hearing this theme and fighting 3rd phase again that I could barely even focus on the ending.

The game just went full dark souls with this track lol. It's so EPIC, and the choir too?

It's fire, I do agree, but it doesn't sound like Dark Souls at all, if that's what you are saying 😅
@@MrDel-dj1ye Nah, i mean dark souls-style epicness to the moon, not any actual musical correlation. Your points are all fair in that regard.

Eigong : why i hear a ost much more Boss-like than me
because it's now Eigong's turn to fight the boss: Sol Yi
oh my fkn god he's actually based on Hou Yi shooting down the Nine Suns I should've known

it's the philosophy line "道可道也 非恆道也 名可名也 非恆名也" from《馬王堆·老子甲道經》translated into solarian language.
