This is not a competitor to the Raspberry Pi. That's for hobbyists. This is for the embedded market. Programmable controllers like this are used to automate production lines of all kinds, because it's cheaper to write the software than to have custom chips made for the control boards.

Any possibility of allowing similar experimenting with accelerated applications on the FPGA included with the new Ryzen 7040U chips?

Not gonna lie, this may be the new Raspberry Pi Compute Module's competitor.

Raspberry Pi is using CPU, while AMD Kria is FPGA. Both has their own advantages and disadvantages, so their use cases is very much different.

Kria, aka how Lisa Su pronounces "Clear".
