I'm usually 12# on everything. Sometimes 10... sometimes 14 but 12# is pretty much where I live in the bay

Great content as usual! Couple of things:
1. I know how to make a Carolina rig, but what is the purpose of the plastic "carolina rig" on your J hook near the fish's nose and is it floating or tied on to the line, thanks?
2. Do you get bait from the barge and then pedal kayak all the way to paradise point? Wow!
3. I've only been fishing this past year and a guy who was fishing told me Halibat season is over. He said April to July are the best months for catching halibat. What do you say?

dude... I just saw this comment. my bad. When I build the halibut rig normally you have to use a snell knot to tie the J hook to the front of the line., and they come loose after a few strikes. the Carolina keeper holds the hook in place all day with out needing to retie anything

I've done some kayaking and fishing in my days, and fished off the kayak a few times. But I'm honestly never all that successful.
