As A detailer you did a great job..... Not a Huge Fan of most of chemical guys products but there are several in my Arsenal.... Side note... The "Bread applicator" is GENIUS !!!!
For a first-generation tacoma user, I have the same exact paint as yours, but unfortunately, the older tacomas were known for having serious paint problems back then but I'm working on getting it repainted in the future :')
Be careful pressure washing Toyota paint, especially white. The best wash method I’ve used is the Optimum rinseless wash (ONR brand). Super easy to use and way faster than having to bust out a hose and pressure washer. There’s some excellent vids on UA-cam to demonstrate the proper technique to use. I recommend watching Yvan Lacroix at DIY Detail. He’s a wealth of detailing knowledge.
Watching a Tacoma get clean is nearly as enjoyable as getting them dirty. Now that you have all that cleaning equipment, can we just stop by and have you wash our Tacoma's? :)
I'm a mobile detailer. Another helpful tip on cleaning windows; on the outside of the window wipe horizontally & on the inside of the window wipe vertically, that way if there is any streaks you will know which side it's on by the direction of the streaks instead of guessing which side it is with the streaks
One little tip you didn’t do that I would recommend. The nuts and bolts that are visible, and in your fender flares can sometimes get a little rusty after you’ve cleaned it and done all of that I would recommend taking a paint pan and touching them up it makes a big difference. I also do this in the engine bay.
Aloha Chloe. I am genuinely impressed by you young lady. Awesome job with your Tacoma and your videos. Have a wonderful Sunday doing what truly interests you. Again thank you for your videos
Stickers !!!!!! Did she say stickers !!!!!!!!!!!!! count me in always wanted to go to Escondido :) Keep it up Chloe your always fun to watch ...........
Wow now I know why people charge so much to have you truck detailed! Thats a lot of work!! looks great!! Hey on you recomonation i installed the Stinger High 10 head unit. in for about 2 months now and I love it!! Thanks for all your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think silver is my favorite color for vehicles because it hides dirt really well. I have to get my truck super dirty in order to passively notice it.
I been slacking on this, yeah i like the bragging rights of off roading but i need to get my truck looking great again. The bird problem, maybe can’t solve that, but the resurfacing of overcoat is needed.
I've found that some of those tire cleaners have tire dressing mixed in so you get the impression the tires are blacker only to find after driving in the rain and it washes off the tires are brown again.
I thought my 2020 TRD OR (silver like yours) was ruined when my son had it for a few weeks and let sprinkler overspray (hard water) bake in during the hot summer up north from you in Murrieta. I went to Detail garage and got the clay bar and luber product, as well as a couple other products, and man it worked out great! Looking forward to taking further steps from your video!
with just starting out with doing your own detailing what four products would start with,, if you wanted to build up your car clean detailing arsenal overtime, and which products would you buy in larger quantity
I love silver! but my 219 SR5 is White, I want to do a paint correction on both my cars. . . I live in Bakersfield but work in LA. Let me know if you know any shops that will help at a reasonable price.
To add, would love to see more about the tree branch pinstripes. I've got some deep ones from a trip to Anza Borrego. Might be too deep for basic treatment but curious if there is a better product than Scratch-X from Meguiars.
The white Tacomas have had paint peeling issues! Mine and thousands more! Could you get more info on why Toyota won’t cover this? It’s mainly by the windows. Crazy that they won’t cover this issue
I have heard of this from others. I think they mix the clear coat with the paint for Super White so that it doesn’t yellow, but that was causing it to not adhere as well. Supposedly they changed the color/paint after 2020
Great video... you noted that you used a separate applicator for the tires, but for the paint did you use separate applicators for the glaze and the butter wax, or can the same applicator be used for both the glaze and wax steps? My poor 2017 Tacoma TRD Off Road is long over due for an exterior detail. It's just been such a rainy summer up hear in the northeast...was your vehicle, 2 days later it rains. Thank you for the great content!
Love the videos. I have a 19 TRD sport in metallic silver. I see you have an AGM battery, how is it keeping up? Or did you have the Tune guys bypass the stock alternator limiters? 🙏
Has anyone here had an issue with their trans overheating? I was playing in the sand couple days back and a warning code showed up on my screen saying something about my trans fluid overheating and i could smell something burning.😭 but my truck running flawlessly still. It's a 2022 sport 4x4 with 18,000 miles.
gotta use the nano synthetic claybar. it's a lot faster to use, all you have to do to clean it is to dip it into a small bucket of water. tip for the windshield or the middle of the hood, use a mini scaffold like a gorilla ladder aluminum slim fold work platform. you can also use the blo car dryer or similar blowers (Adam's polishes makes one too, i think they're all from the same chinese oem). they have up to 8hp motors and blow a massive amount of air, remember to wear ear protection. also when detailing, washing, waxing, using any of those nano particle products, you need good ventilation and ideally a half mask respirator with ag/ov filters, without them they'll bond to your alveoli and give you a bad day (or life). your lungs will thank you. For your day to day wash, you can actually get ONR, optimum no-rinse, and use the garry deans method to wash your vehicle. just throw 30-40 microfiber towels into a 5 gallon bucket, a few capfuls of ONR and tap water. rinse the truck, move it into the shade, and then just use the clean microfiber towels to wipe down your truck. ONR is similar to a quick detailer (so close to the point you can use it as a claybar lube) to simply quick detail the truck. Then you just toss the microfiber towels into the washer with some vinegar and light laundry detergent, then let them air dry. for an APC (all purpose cleaner), you just need a simple ph neutral cleaner, something like 303 multi-surface cleaner works just fine and it's a few bucks cheaper than chemical bros. If you wanna be fancy, you can also try using a professional steamer from chief to gives you some really effective cleaning.
FYI a clay bar will scratch the living HELL out of your paint. Do NOT use one unless you are willing to follow up with full paint correction / rotary clear takedown.
I'm sorry, but Chemical Guys are a bunch of clowns that will oversell you on 50 different products you don't need and are of mediocre quality. They are a marketing company, not a detailing company.
Everytime I wash my car it rains It gets dirty because it's white and the tires shine disappears. Complete waste of time in Miami. The streets are so bad full of pot holes and water.
These guys are ripping ppl off. You don’t apply a glaze, wax or sealant after a ceramic coating. It’s either or. If you want a deep shine then go with glaze and wax. If you want protective properties (e.g. hydrophobic qualities like mud won’t stick to the surface and bounce right off) you go with the coating. For tire cleaning you can use plain old dish soap with white vinegar. That will get it super clean. They sell a bunch of nonsense. The more the better philosophy. So American.
I would recommend the below podcasts Daily audio bible TimeSuck Scared to death The Shawn Ryan show The ramsey Show And of course Joe Rogan experience.
I am kind of an ODC person when it comes to the cleanliness of the vehicle. Watching you clean that Tacoma was so satisfying. Now I clean mine once a week, but not even nearly close to what you did to your Tacoma. I wish I could ship my Tacoma to you so you could clean it for me. Great job.
sometimes you have to let people try out products for themselves to see if they actually work and is worth the price. just because you think here's something better doesn't mean she has to use it. some people like that they can go to one place and get all their products from one place. i personally love carpros and adma's however i stopped because i can't trust ups or fedex anymore without getting busted bottles etc. so some of us are stuck with Walmart and Chemical Guys and Turtle Wax is the best they have usually
for the pin stripes. turtle wax rubbing compound. ,walmart. bit of elbow grease ,you might have to rub a few times. but the scratches come out. hope to see you soon. have a good day.
The easiest method personally is to get CR Spotless Water System coupled with power wash and Meguiar's Ultimate Wash and Wax. I use the foam cannon (although Meguiar works okay with cannon but still does job done) and bucket with mitt. I also use long handle wash mitt for the roof. My car has never sparked so well and I never had to dry as long as my CR Spotless is reading 0 ppm. It seems that not drying also leaves nice wax film on the car which eventually builds up to create strong reflective and protective layer. With regular water, you can never get 100% and some dries leaving hard spot in tough places and that's what makes car look older. I even wet fiber towels with that water and wipe inside for spotless, windex free windows. Rinse, Foam, Wipe, Rinse and done! For engine compartment, I also foam and rinse and it looks new. No need to brush, wipe or spend more time on it. It costs money though.
Looking good! I know how much work that takes. Well done! I recently used Chemical Guys to completely restore the white paint in my 08 Tacoma and my 52 Plymouth. Their stuff really works. Engine bays are up next. Thanks for the walkthrough!
great video, im sure youve gotten tons of comments like this but you probably overspent alot on those products. that whole hydro line from CG isnt actually ceramic and most of their products are just watered down and overpriced. you did a great job though
@@ChloeKuo I was going to make a joke ("right in time for the hurricane") but didn't know when you filmed this. Ha! great timing. Truck still looks great. Maybe you can do a video documenting how "bad" it looks a few days after getting soaked (or how well the sealant performed).
I REALLY like & appreciated how you showed each product as he mentioned it. Really helpful!
As A detailer you did a great job..... Not a Huge Fan of most of chemical guys products but there are several in my Arsenal.... Side note... The "Bread applicator" is GENIUS !!!!
Did Chem bros add a bunch of steps to cleaning a car just to sell their products? It is insane how much stuff they sell.

Why do you say to be careful with white toyota paint? I know it's soft but can the pressure washer strip the paint? Thanks bud

Congrats on your new Tacoma!! 😊

I just have to say it. Using VRP on the tires is a bad idea.

SHould have done a foaming treatment before the first rinse. Also Chemical Guys is not well regarded in the detailing community.

Chemical guys is all marketing. 95% of their products are relabeled and re-dyed and sold as a different product when in reality its not😂
