wow Sir that's super kool filter & pump. It has great features especially with the bio balls compartments & appreciated the unboxing etc. also glad hygger gives you an additional sponges. love the mechanical one..hygger is always updated in their designs etc...💕💕💕
Yes it is awesome that they give ya two replacement sponges, cuz hell you could even use them in other filters as pre-intakes or just in the backs of some to get seeded then when its time for a new tank BAMN
I like the easy peel-off stickers which leave no residue. I use sponge filters but haven't tried Hygger sponges. I really like the inline water pump on the one and I truly must try it. I like the versatility of these type sponges & the only beef I find is as the filter ages, the suction cups lose their suction ability so you have to buy more. I wish there was a hang over the side hanger that would hold these filters without me worrying about "when" the suction cups will fail. And that goes the same for any product using suction cups to hold items in place. That is my absolute biggest hobby product peeve. Thanks for this product review and thanks to Hygger for sponsoring you in bringing a new to me product (waterpump spongefilter) to light. Please do a one/two year review after continuous use.
hmmmmm possibly something we can have friends with a 3D printer try and come up with a product that holds them in place, or maybe try a rabbit water bottle holder thingy? I dont know just spit ballin here haha. I will say these suction cups at least stuck compared to other products where you stick em and a hour later they fall off and are at the bottom of the tank. Oh and I will defiantly come back at a later date down the road and show how they are performing. Maybe a year check in and do a month, 3 month, 3 month, 9 month and 12 months check in all in one vid
Technically the ridges don't actually increase surface area, they decrease it because the material is porous so the more total volume of material the more surface area you have. If it was a solid block of wood or something sure, but those ridges are mostly there to help direct debris in their instead so it can tap the larger particulates in the water easier
@@Lefty3213a no problem! Sometimes I like to watch a particular piece of dust near the filter and almost every time it gets sucked between the two ridges!
My only issue with these filters is the suction cups. Maybe it's just me, but suction cups always fail for me. It doesn't matter if we're talking these filters or heaters or anything else. They do not stay suctioned. I bought the smallest sponge filter they have and, it was floating within 36 hours.
Oooo you broke it 😂🤣😂could that loop be for wall mounting so u have a drip loop thingy? Lol. Looks really good that. Would solve my fry getting stuck in my canister filter. Would save alot of money spent on sponge media for the canister filter too. I like it👍

Love that idea lefty.. bamn..🤗🤗🤗
I use the hoop on the pump to hang them with. I put in a hook and use wire to hang it in midair. They are super quiet that way. great video Lefty
well now thats a wonderful idea :O

@@Lefty3213a Excellent.
nice setup i have been hearing about Hygger alot the past month.
probably cuz they reached out to a lot of people haha
Hygger has really been getting these out there. The reviews seem good. If I start doing sponge filtres, I'll give this one a look.
Ya I guess they've been contacting everyone lol 😆
@@Lefty3213a ;) You are still special, Lefty! XD

@@Lefty3213a no worries! I hope UA-cam doesn’t think I’m sketchy or something! 😂😅

@@Lefty3213a ahhh well im expressive, they’re gonna have to deal lmao
Lmfao.
Look like they're good quality
they dont seem to be your typical made in China, alley express wish . com junk xD
@@Lefty3213a Looks like it! You'll find out soon enough

So far so good for me, way better than thermometer or heater ones from PetSmart. Do you suction them first then add water or water then suction?
@@Lefty3213a I had water in the tank. I was replacing a Co-Op one that, while small, was still to big for my liking.
How much ?
The regular Medium size sponge filter is 20, the air pump is 13 and the filter with built in pump is 25ish depends on size

Possibly! Honestly im still at a loss for what that loopy is for haha, I need to email em and ask. Could just be a random design quirk
@@Lefty3213a lol I'm intrigued to know what it's for too. I was just guessing lol
