Excellent video, great info! I started using vortex blue 04 files to finish my cases after watching this, but found I was obturating long. The feeling of tugback is very different than larger taper cones and length control requires a much steadier hand.
One question- I'm surprised you guys didn't talk about apically gauging canals with 02 taper niti or stainless steel handfiles? It seems like that would be a great method to determine finishing files based on the actual canal instead of averages from studies. Is that not a valid way of determining the master apical file?

    Greetings Professor.,
    Excellent Video as always.
Professor,Regarding the determination of Apical size of the foramen,
Do you prefer to use LightSpeed LSX Instrumentation to prepare the Apical 3rd of the canal to achieve a Biologically Optimal Enlargement of the Apical Portion?

The Light Speed file would be a nice size verifier but generally, it's not that necessary. Making sure you cut dentin and verify clean dentinal chips on the file flutes may possibly suffice. Combining some 02 Taper files with larger taper files would also achieve similar results. Good luck!

hello Dr Ali Nasseh. thanks again for this very interesting video. this make us wonder why a lot of manufacturers still go on proposing apical gauges of 20 and 25 with augmented taper as a standard in the majority of the canals instead of choosing a 30 or 35 with low taper as main instrument should be a 30 with low taper.
which are the factors that make you choose different apical shaping other than the mechanical residence of the canal towards the instrument?

Hello dear doctors i hope you are doing fine. I have a question. Curently i work in goverment place where we use protaper gold and next and some times universal. Most of the time i finish my prep at f2 25 .08 taper i used to fill with the corresponding Gp f2 of the same manufacturer.but now for some reason we run out of f2 and f1 gp. So my question wich gp should i use non standerdiszed MF or M or somthing else ?

what about minimum preperation till 35/04 in the constricted or calcified or double s canals sir ... oh it will destroy the structure of the walls ... i cant understand this point and of we reach to 25/04 its excellent in some cases ... please can u explain this point dr allen /dr safi ... the last 3 minute in the videos not clear for me ... thanks alot for sharing infos

Dr. Nasseh explained his rule of "as large as possible as long as it's safe!" This means that when you have a very calcified, curved, or double curved canal where there's a high chance of lodging or breaking file or stripping the canal it would be ok to enlarge to a 25/04.

how many time we can use the XP finisher

    • @AANasseh
      @AANasseh  7 років тому +5

The manufacturer recommends single use. I think you can use it in 3 canals. That usually means one molar or 3 anteriors.

Analysis of the papers by Dalton and Shuping is incorrect and misleading at 10:10. You cannot say S3 was a size 25 and S4 was a size 35. In Shupings paper S3 ranged from size 28 to 46 depending on the tooth prepared. Only in molars with curved canals was the size 28. S4 was 36 to 60. In Daltons paper at S3 the size ranged from 30 to 50. S4 ranged from 35 to 60.
As the graph presented was a combination of all the teeth, what you are saying is completely incorrect.
You cannot then infer that to get any benefit from using sodium hypochlorite you have to consider taking the MAF to larger than a 25!
Very poor analysis of the papers and conclusion

Well spotted! Just read Shupings' paper and found exactly that! The methodology of the selection of S sizes is very confusing
