Fallout 76 is definitely one of the more controversial titles that has been installed to the franchise. While it has received many updates and the general quality of the the tile has been stated to improve a lot since launch, it still is largely regarded as a disappointment to many fans.
Here is my thoughts on Fallout 76.
But what's your thoughts on this Fallout title? Good? Bad? Ugly?

Dude its nice that you give so much for your channel and it really shows, but i think i speak for all fans that you shouldn’t put yourself in harms way for your videos. I like you and i want that your channel gets the recognition it deserves and i want quality videos for me, but in the end your well being is more important. 100 hours fallout 76 is to much. I got the game as a gift for Christmas and I am surprised at how much I am enjoying it. People are friendly, the world is beautiful and I really like the weapons and camp systems.
That being said I do see the bugs and downsides, junk weight being restricted, NPCs bouncing around and bullets not registering all the time.
This is was a great review, keep at it!

I didn't watch the video yet, but i already have a strong oppinion about 76, that is: i honestly don't care much about the game, i don't love it, i don't hate it, i just think i'll never be able to forgive what Bethesda did by releasing this game the way it was back then. That was such a disrespect to the fans that i think this game will remain stained forever and probably won't recover too soon, regardless of any update or improvement.
It doesn't impede me to play it (specially because, thank to Game Pass i can play without having to spend 40$ or so), but it certainly isn't a game i'll ever truly respect.
Now let's watch the video regardless of how stubborn i am with my oppinions because this channel is fucking awesome.

It's very interesting seeing your perspective on this game and I generally found them to be very well reasoned and thought out. As an individual who has played more or less since day 1 on and off I can confirm a lot has changed namely in the bug category interestingly although I have not encountered the West Tek bug you had completely I have entered west Tek to find the super mutants already like that. Interestingly I will say certain enemies tend to bug out more for me like the scorched seem to be the buggiest enemy to me, with the most common one being them holding their gun completely wrong.
A Few comments though on the content completion technically all quests and events can be done solo however for many it is impractical and highly advised to do it in a group such as Encrypted or the Scorched Earth. I think the hardest to do single though would be radiation rumble just because gathering the ore + protecting the scientists can be frustrating as all heck.
On the topic of the community what you said is very true. The dev's did originally have in a PvP system where you could damage other players in a minor way until they attacked back however even back then, players just did not want to PvP. The main reason they have nerfed PvP so much in game is because the community just did not give a crap about it and mostly just likes to work together. One of the things I used to do in fact was go to the forest area and drop of welcome gifts for new players of ammo , food, water, and other supplies just because I found it fun to give back to the community.
Personally the biggest flaw from the very start was how rushed the game was to begin and believe or not I think an npc-less game could of worked if the game was developed a bit different such as maintaining what server your character is one + the ability to build bigger camps with other players so you could develop towns, ect. However with the game we have I agree that adding npcs and going from there is for the best.
Overall though I really enjoy the game where it has ended up and I still play it to this day. I appreciate your views on it. Also as a fellow power armor plasma caster user good choice.

2:12 You actually don't have to pick a perk from the corresponding SPECIAL stat. You can pick a point in Intelligence for example, and then use "Z" and "C" to scroll through the other SPECIAL perks. I only found out about this, after 300+ hours of playing, so I don't blame you lol.

For me choosing shin was pretty easy since not only he is more responsible, but you get over his jerkiness as soon as he sacrifices himself for the mine, showing that he truly cares for the brotherhood.
Rhamani was a structure-less leader while Shin prided himself in keeping everything in order, the more you talk with both the more you realize that Rhamani is I'll equipped to be the leader and Shin is actually more equipped to be one.
I don't think the choice was really obvious and in fact it was more of a preference on what anyone values more as a leader, I happened to prefer someone more disciplined and predictable on knight shin.

If you think Fallout 1st is bad, the new vegas multiplayer mods charges people 40 dollars a month for private servers that lets you use a VPN.
The reason this is so important is because the free aternative uses a program called Hamachi, which from what I understand gives your IP adress to anyone whose private server you join, servers you can't join if you're just using either the VPN provided by Hamachi or any other VPN you own.
Even then the price your given for these private servers almost entirely depend on how much the admin like you, meaning friends of the admin play on private servers for free without worrying about somebody grabbing their IP adress while everyone else either has to risk giving their IP adress to server hosts or pay a monthly subscription for a free mod just to play new vegas with up to four additional people who are also paying the subscription, with the free public server being an anarchaistic pvp hellhole where nobody can leave spawn without being mini-nuked.

  • @aurawolf2221
    @aurawolf2221 2 роки тому +2

The game is genuinely pretty good these days, it's not a perfect Fallout game by any stretch of the imagination BUT.... there's a lot of interesting lore implications with this game... with updates in the future they COULD say our 76er was part of lore events like the Scourge of the Pitt etc.
It's not breaking the lore of the event itself but it'll let us see it & be part of it.
The idea of each player being what we want.
    A Raider.
    A BOS member
    An Enclave member
    A responder
    Etc.
It's a FANTASTIC idea but... seeing me (a BOS Roleplayer) alongside a Raider in a daily op is.... odd
Overall there's things I really like & things I REALLY hate about this game but it's a decent game these days.
Also side note.... THE GOD DAMN LEGENDARY GUIDE PISSES ME OFF!
Maybe my lack of luck with RNG just really sucks but ugh... I hate it.
I just resort to looking at other players camps to find & buy a legendary I want.

You're the only other person I've seen who also loves Fallout 4's music. I think it's criminally underappreciated. The opening score alone is phenomenal and always got me pumped to play. I would often just sit there before launching, and let the entire main theme play through. Bums me out that so few people recognize and applaud how brilliant it is. Not only the main theme, but the in-game score is phenomenal as well. One of the best in recent history. 76 definitely misses the mark, especially compared to 4.

I didn't like the idea early on, but seeing all the good points i've seen from people since it's release, i went from disliking it to indifference. It looks nice, the bits of story i've listened to are well enough put together, which are good points to it, i'd just really prefer a standard co-op option for a standard fallout. Just a couple of friends running around playing the same game together and doing what friends do (such as purposefully trying to get the other killed, or discussing how to finish a quest, whether to just shoot that one annoying guy in the face because you want the clothing he's wearing, and then hearing your friend getting mad at you because you did so the moment he turned his back to you and wasn't watching you).
I'm sure to some extent 76 would allow this, but there's something impersonal about simply existing in the same place as other people who i don't know, doing their own thing throughout the same world. Feels like all the exploring has already been done, and i'm simply the next one to wander through the area.

  • @nanomachines2985
    @nanomachines2985 2 роки тому

Huge 76 critic here. But, I will try to be fair in my super official 76 thoughts for this 76 video.
    The good:
A lot of people gave the game crap for its "lonely" feeling caused primarily by no NPCs at first. I personally liked that feeling. The idea that disease broke put and wiped most of the locals, cause them to move/migrate, etc, I found it a unique and interesting idea. You ac the other 76 dwellers are it. You are the start of the new society.
After all, some settlements in the franchise started off as previous vaults. Vault 15 became the Kahns, the Vipers and Shady Sands which became the NCR. Then there's the Boneyard in fo1, the Boomers in NV, and so on. This is not unprecedented, and actually fits into the lore very well.
The creature diversity when I went back and played a few weeks ago was pleasantly surprising and was something I've wanted to see more of in fallout. I still think it could have gone further, and it's why I download mods for more creatures in my fo4 and NV play throughs.
    My biggest bads:
    - as you mentioned: the glitches. I almost loved 76 when I had the most epic fight against the giant bat scourge creature when the server crashed before we could kill the thing. When my buddy and I finally got back into the game, we were in our original spawn locations on the map, and all the ammo and health we used were used up. Power armor was damaged. That stuff remained, but not the battle.
Almost everything else wrong with the game was forgivable up to that point. I've been salty ever since. This fight is the source of my disdain for 76. I didn't care that light was shining through mountains, that enemy health kept resetting to full, the limited storage space, almost all of it was fine. But the crashes ruined it, and that specific crash was the straw that broke the camel's back

I like fallout 76, I truly do. Just my main problem with it is the balance. Bloodied is just way too good compared to literally every other things, it scales at 85% while the other ones that are relatively close are at 50%. Bloodied has so many mutations and perks that affect it and can make it do insane DPS but you are somewhat weak. But you can run a damage negation tank bloodied build and take almost 0 damage and have the bloodied damage. Which I think entirely defeats the purpose of high risk high reward. With a Bloodied explosive stealth fixer I was able to solo Earle Williams in 15-20 minutes. I think that they should buff all the other legendary effects and just change that you can be a fucking tank that is tankier and stronger than vanguards with bloodied. And something that my buddy found out was that adrenal reaction did more damage than the juggernauts legendary affect which is a big problem.

I started playing after npcs were introduced, and I didn't hate the game. It still felt like running around in the wasteland like the other Fallout entries so questing was fun. After I exhausted most of the story and was at the point of grinding for grinding's sake, I was still having fun for a little bit, building up head canon for my character. I got bored with the content, but the actual reason I quit was the amount of hackers in the game. Basically every time a good event popped there was a hacker with a sniper shotgun with infinite range that would sit back and pepper the enemy spawns. I mod a lot when playing fallout 4, so I understand wanting to play with overpowered weapons, but doing it online in that context just bugs me.

There are both things I love and hate about it.
    The Environment is amazing.
    Seeing people's camps is amazing.
Having the ability to actually play with my friends is amazing.
I can even excuse the offshoot of the brotherhood, because they at least tried to explain it... And I like the characters involved. It's just the game has a lot of minor issues that add up too fast.

I love playing 76 but I don't take some of the lore seriously as not a whole lot of it makes much sense. The game lacks traditional style content but I think that's due to a fundamental misunderstanding of how the game was supposed to be played upon release. And now that they are trying to transition to a more traditional style game it's getting kind of messy
    Edited to add Note:
I in no way consider it my favorite fallout game despite it being my favorite to play when certain moods strike. The ability to play with friends and family and build camps, not to mention that the rpg element has basically become a digital LARP due to lack of provided content, just rubs me the right way. This game expects YOU to provide your entertainment the same way a D&D game around the table with friends does. And I don't see the problem with that.

I’ve got 1,500 hours in this game and really like it more than 4. The online aspect is very fun talked and met some cool people in game. The grinding part for me is fun because it isn’t hard and only takes time to get goodish gear. Also the complaint about getting gear can be made easier if you join groups like Market 76 for trading. The glitches I can get over with since they aren’t super game breaking because it’s expected. Story is average cool lore not to retconning(expect for BoS wish Bethesda focused on enclave). World is great. Character building is fun. Overall 7.5/10 for me.

When the game first started players could kill each other from the get go. That ended when new players complained.
After that there was this issue where if you were hostile to another player so was your whole team. Simple for organized PvP, pain in the ass when a scammer and his buddy use it to take your stuff and leave. Was so bad just about the only reliable way to trade I knew of was Reddit (r/market76 can track how many trades you’ve done without scamming)
Honestly what killed my interest in the game was the duping. If you knew the right people it could be fun but *apparently* it’s not great for the economy when Bethesda gives players small gift boxes dropped by scorched that give caps (Christmas Event) only for players to find a way to replicate the boxes to hell and back. And so was junk and ammo eventually. All I see now on r/market76 is a laundry list in exchange for legacies. Where 2-3 years ago if you had enough caps, ammo and/or quality scrap you could trade for top tier loot

It’s a story that interests me, but paying $15 a month for something I’d play 3-5 hours a month just isn’t something I can justify. It looks like fun, but I’ve never enjoyed multiplayer games. It seems like a fun solo game, but paying a subscription for paying for a private server, so I can enjoy a $10 game just doesn’t make any sense for any game… much less one with the reputation that 76 has.

76 is a prime example of how to take a great series and turn it to garbo, with on mechanic they ruined it.... massive multiplayer..... all fallout needed was a 2 player co-op, when i layer joins your game your companion shuld return home and the player takes their place. i do like the card perk system they made for it. even if i dont agree with some of the cards...

  • @rolay7730
    @rolay7730 2 роки тому

I disagree that the perk system makes the player's build feel arbitrary. It lets players explore the game and change my character while still making it so I can't do everything in a fight. Also I can't imagine playing the game with perks that stick just because of how bad most a lot of the perks are. I mean. I keep needing to change my loadout just to be useful in raids. Imagine if I was going to a raid boss and 4 of my special points went to getting more caps at the shop. I can change it before the fight so I am stronger, and we still usually die to the wendigo colossus unless someone has legacy weapons.
Honestly, I like games where you can learn to do pretty much everything as long as you go out of your way to do it. It means I always have a way out of a situation through farming, if nothing else. Plus, whenever I see a game like this, I want to learn to craft everything and try them out. If I found a new type of gun I didn't know about, I can grind to get perks for it, so it takes a bit, but I have the option to use it to the fullest. For similar reasons, I wish past fallout games let players deactivate perks. Long story short, In fallout new vegas I wanted to do a primarily energy weapons build. I put less than twenty points in guns until after I maxed out energy weapons. I made the mistake of getting Meltdown. I usually try not to kill random civilians, but suddenly the only weapons I put points in were all explosive. I had to use the normal guns most of the time if there was ANYONE around. I didn't want dead.

Nah, If you really want to go past about lvl 50 , you have to join the "Dark Side" and rent the dang scrap box., you get some other stuff with 1st too, 1500 atoms/mn and free consumables each day.
It cuts down greatly on having to fight the stash box weight limit, which gets really old. And you can make caps by selling all the accumulated junk in bulk. ( always be looking for plastic for sure) -
The game is "free" with an X/box sub(P/S as well AFAIK), and an F/O1st sub is about $10 mn.
I have never had an actaul copy of F/76, hard copies of games are now obsolete anyway.
Yea, the game still has bugs, both for quests, but worse is the crashes, I have seen the game crash every day at day-change for days/weeks on end for periods. Seems some of the updates kinda cause it . til the next fix, IMO.
Good game to try , especially the first couple runs. below lvl50 is real interesting and a challenge, After about lvl100 it gets old/grindy. = events/script/legendary crafting-pawning/gold/flux ugh!

I really enjoyed the game even in the early Beta. My friend and I just walked around the map and explored and learned the stories of some areas. We didn’t do many missions and we were just having so much fun. I played the game for a long time but haven’t played recently for no particular reason. I still enjoy the game a lot.
Also I wanted to say this on one of these videos so a fallout 76 related one is perfect. One youtuber I watched did a survey for their subscribers about fallout 76 and who enjoyed it. The survey was mostly negative towards 76 and a lot of people posted in the comments of the community post clear false information. This UA-camr was mainly negative towards 76 and only had 1 positive video on it during the update adding NPCs. It’s sad that some people still listen to lies or make up lies about this game. I know some of the criticisms were right and valid but looking at some of the complaints are just really false. 2 examples being saying fallout 76 was only a battle royale and that 76 is pay to win because some camp buildings are locked behind the shop.

I was so dissatisfied with Fallout 4. I expected an RPG like New Vegas instead of whatever Fallout 4 was. So I didn't really listen to any news - when 76 came out it hit me with a suprise - and then the annoncement of no NPC's didn't really interest me. Also the only thing to encounter there would be other players? And then came the reviews - and the scandals. Watching those was fun. Like people buying a edition with a canvis bag, then not getting their canvis bag, then getting a refund of ingame-currency that was not enough to by the canvis bag at least ingame...
If there are no NPCs it's just boring when all there is to encounter are other players.

I never really liked Fallout 76 but played it anyways because you could join other players. Sounded good on paper. The game was so buggy, vats sucked, perk cards sucked, combat/balancing sucked, skins were ok, no real (engaging) story, and you couldn’t hoard items since you had a limited stash capacity. I’m at the point where I have a tons of stuff that I don’t want to get rid of and being an end game player sucks. I last played a month ago and the worlds were nearly empty. I tried several worlds/servers and empty; Confused Travolta gif. I did find some worlds with end game events but my fun was foiled by other end game players with insane kill-the-end-game-boss-in-seconds-builds. At least it was efficient since no resources, on my part, were used and I still got the event rewards. I don’t see myself creating a new character and investing more time into this. I’m quite sad but I don’t think new content will be produced fast enough to keep up with most players. Especially end game players. New players will most likely have a great time with this.

Late, but I don't really care.
76, to me, is a difficult game. Not in the sense that its actually challenging, but more in the sense of: How can this exist in the canon timeline? As a person who- even before I first played a fallout game- became so ingratiated with the lore, I can't in good conscience call it a canon title. The years the game is set in, and the existence of the Brotherhood of Steel in Appalachia in these dates, make no sense. Given what we knew of the BoS before 76, they never moved East until the end of the Enclave war, with the then only known Eastern chapters being the Capital Wasteland chapter under Lyons which was established in 2255 and the Chicago chapter whose mere existence was only acknowledged. There was never before any mention in any of the games of the existence of the Appalachian chapter, not even by John Maxson, the only Lost Hills elder that we meet, and who lived to become elder post Steel Dawn, when the second Appalachian chapter was established. I personally can't see the way they could exist given these facts. Now, if the game was set sometime after 2255 and not 2102, I would accept it, as then there is a precedent for its existence.
Most other aspects of the game: the mutants, the overall setting, and the two dead factions (the Responders and Free States) I like, with the only other thing I despise being the Scorched; as there was already a criminally under used contagion that would have been a good pretext for the Super Mutants existence, which is the New Plague.
Other than my few likes and dislikes, I feel that the game is fine. Its a damn sight better than what it was, but there are still a lot of glaring issues that need to be resolved or altered.

It's actually OK but ridden with faults, Bethesda has to evolve their game design.
Bethesda struggled with balance, enemies are insane damage sponges as if you're meant to fight them with huge groups of players (like in WoW) but neither players or enemies have interesting mechanics or abilities; every fight & queen devolves into whacking & the heavy guns users standing still & firing. Shotguns & some rifles shred in the early-mid game, but melee & heavy guns are the only weapons viable in the late & end game.

  • @sweetmcnasty
    @sweetmcnasty 2 роки тому

I know you said you wanted them to allow you to play the old storyline before Wastelanders. It's still in the game and it's the most boring crap ever in videogame history, especially with teammates. It should've been removed and replaced. FYI the newer questline (Steel Reign) can't be played with teammates. Also, the Vault 79 heist with the Raiders is severely bugged if a teammate competed it already (especially with the Settlers) or doesn't have keycard access. For a game that was touted for being "Fallout with friends", questing together is a headache on so many levels.
