If Moon is the fifth race, how is Happy not the sixth race at this point? This man is not one dimensional and can use variety of strategies and always adapts to every situation. Probably 99 % of players would absolutely crumble under that tank pressure. He is the immovable object. You just can't bend it. I do wonder about the next patch though. Paladin running around giving tanks massive armor. But one thing that I have learned is that Happy is probably the most consistent and reliable player ever. If the patch goes through, Happy will come up something and still prevail.
I agree, but what came up to my mind is that Fortitude couldnt possibly compite Happy using regular units doing all that micro control, so he switched to those tanks, what i find the last "frustrated" option... could person possibly felt ruined inside that applied such a method by eliminating all buildings? I find this method lame and shame... I suggest review tornament rules, and get rid of that winning creteria.
Moon used to have that unique almost all mercenaries in the early game playstyle that made him look like he was playing a while new race, happy plays textbook undead
@@flimsygrayfrog I believe Moon was called the fifth race not because of mercenary play style but innovative play style in general and being very successful. I think Happy is very innovative. Plenty of different hero openers and combinations, utilizing almost all of UD units except necro and wyrms (for example, making ghouls viable, which were previously thought as unviable, now people think ghouls are op), insane micro and strategic planning and being extremely knowledgeable of mechanics of all races and maps. He can react to any situation and change his play style in accordance. It's definitely not "textbook undead" and it is so much above average UD that you might as well view Happy as playing different race. His playing has affected this game so much that it's balanced around him and not the race.
what amazes me every time is that Happy has to deal with two most annoying tactics in the game -elf mass faerie dragons and human's mass tanks. Watching him dealing with it brings joy ... the decision making is so precise. Do ya'll remember the game against Foggy , whey Foggy was trying to kill that Lich??? and now we have full series of him protecting his base against mass tanks. These series would be remembered forever. I think those players collapse due to frustration of Happy's micro and those low HP saves ... whether its a hero or a simple unit. they always miss just 10-30 hp or couple more seconds to kill DK or Lich ... and the look on their faces after gg says its all.

I understand why people are getting excited watching close series as happy did not go 4-0. But this gameplay is a balance/design nightmare. Slow, minimal interaction and just cheese with unkillable tanks gyros etc. Fortitude is doing his best to win the series, that is fair. But if wc3 was a popular game, i am sure the balancers would do their best to erase this type of strategies.
Its not even about strategy, it is bad design. Tanks are garbage in all MU except UD cause undead just has no counter. Meat wagons are more like expensive support units. They barely do damage at all
I know that many people are loving this matches, but this brings to me memorys from Vietnam. Tanks are the most boring and frustrating unit to play against UD, there is simply no efficient units to bring them down. If every HUvsUD is gonna turn a hide and seek with tanks this is gonna be awful.

@@horderob2025 the championship you refer to is WGL. Happy won 1 in 2019, same year that infi won WCG, a tradicionaly bigger tournament. infi also won 3 WGL, the last in 2020, then retired.
Undead play style is lame af against human. All undead do is pick one hero buy rod of necro and harras, harras and then do some more. It’s super lame. Then humans just give undead some lame back on tier 3…

In terms of best player rankings it's NE>HU>UD>Orc. Top 50 NE are in the top 167 players, HU is in the 195, UD 203, and orc in the 267. I should look up the population of each race to make sure this works as orc could simply just have a ton less players.
101 NE, 79 Orc, 87 Human, 87 UD. I'd say NE is still best but the population numbers do line up with the rankings somewhat. Though orc is rather low even with the population difference in mind. I'd say HU>UD for certain and NE>HU is the one you can debate is a population issue.

I used to play this game back in 2004 and remember well how unfair this matchup has always been. Believe it or not, Humans have seen a lot of nerfs but it is still close to impossible for Undead to beat a good Human player. Undead received a major buff when reforged was released, but are being nerfed in every game patch after that.
People said HU should always go AM 1st and cannot play MK 1st since he's bad for fexpo and creeping. Then, Forti and Sok played it really well especially against lich 1st HU is just lacking creativity after playing AM 1st like retard for 2 decades while having perfect T3 army It's good to see the meta is shifting, though it will be ridiculous to see walking cannon towers start demolishing everywhere

Sok vs Happy on WC3 champions was better imo. Sok actually played amazingly and outplayed Happy. Not to take anything from Fortidude, but his strats were pretty annoying and he made tons of mistakes, even in games that he won. He could win it 4-1 if he at least did not lose his heroes the dumbest way over and over again
@@ab-qj3wo on the opposite side I think that this was not even close to be a great series (if not for the score and the hype). Fortitude played very well here and there but also very poorly at times. He managed to make some big blunders and still he went super close to the win by cheesing as hard as he possibly could. There is an abyss between the pure skill that Sok showed and the dumb cheese that Forti showed here. At some point he literally suicided his main hero and then proceeded to win by right-clicking, such skill. If anything it really shows that hu is clearly favored vs UD now, it requires the best player in the world to barely do it vs someone who does several mistakes and is not really at the same level of skill.
And UD is balanced? You even said it..only 1 way he found out how to beat UD and u cry about it? And UD literally fucks up every race with mostly similar build and mostly its ghouls and destroyers..have to give a credit to happy how he plays it..
@@cadukizzi Warden was the least used hero, yes. Potom is worse of course but the way NE play it's either DH with tavern heroes or Keeper with tavern heroes. There's a recent trend of going just Warden by some players but the idea behind that is you're going for level 6 as fast as you can. Issue with Warden is she's so mana intense. Sorry if you didn't know.

@@cadukizzi Potom is used in FFA and 2v2/3v3/4v4. The meta hasn't had Warden being used for a couple years. It's okay to be a fan of using the warden but only a few NE players do that and only when they're trying to surprise the other player. I think Lawliet uses Warden a lot compared to the rest. Warden isn't an army vs army hero so she's best used early and rushed to 6. A level 6 warden is essentially a win if done right. But you can watch all the tournaments from this year and you'll get a gasp of surprise whenever someone does use Warden because the hero ISN'T used that much. Too micro intensive / mana dependent / easy to counter. If you go Warden you have to use her first and you most likely won't be using a second / third hero, so the strategy to beat NE who goes Warden is well-known and well-explored. DH and Keeper by far the better choice. In one off matches you'll see Warden played a lot more often. I've seen Potom used once in tournament play this year which was really neat. Warden maybe three or four times.

As much as I respect Happy for his insane gameplay, I will always, *always* be a Happy Hater. I want a Human champion against him. I don't care what patches need to do, or who needs to play it. Happy's UD needs to lose to a Human player before I can root for the GOAT again
I think making so many cannon towers were mistake,since they were a lot of air units..if he made 2-3 regular towers with 1-2 cannons on expo happy wouldnt be able to approach. And IMO as a nub xD to many tanks he made without a single army..if he made like 6-7 tanks with army to compete on a field or his exo with happy and send tanks behind would be more efficient IMO
First they said Grubby would beat him. After that, Soin emerged as somewhat good oppo. After that came 120 who did win a few bo5 vs THE EMPEROR, but he is not consistent. A few months ago SOK's name was in the air, and achieved nothing. I won't even talk bout Forti because this is pure lame that should have been banned 20 years ago. NOBODY will undermine Happy's legacy as best WC3 player EVER. Happy is the only player out there, the others are just mere spectators.

I'd say NE is still best but the population numbers do line up with the rankings somewhat.
Though orc is rather low even with the population difference in mind.
I'd say HU>UD for certain and NE>HU is the one you can debate is a population issue.
@@codingcrashkurse6429 I agree with you. Human is the best race since this game was released. Proof of that is they are overall #1 offline tournament winners. I used to play this game back in 2004 and remember well how unfair this matchup has always been. Believe it or not, Humans have seen a lot of nerfs but it is still close to impossible for Undead to beat a good Human player. Undead received a major buff when reforged was released, but are being nerfed in every game patch after that.
HU casually lose their heroes every single game and still win . Yet ppl are so blinded and biased thinking HU needs buff and other races are better
People said HU should always go AM 1st and cannot play MK 1st since he's bad for fexpo and creeping. Then, Forti and Sok played it really well especially against lich 1st
HU is just lacking creativity after playing AM 1st like retard for 2 decades while having perfect T3 army
It's good to see the meta is shifting, though it will be ridiculous to see walking cannon towers start demolishing everywhere

Sok vs Happy on WC3 champions was better imo.
Sok actually played amazingly and outplayed Happy.
Not to take anything from Fortidude, but his strats were pretty annoying and he made tons of mistakes, even in games that he won. He could win it 4-1 if he at least did not lose his heroes the dumbest way over and over again
SoK used actual combat units and went toe to toe against Happy's army and beat his ass. Fortitude snatched 3 victories by cheesing.

@@ab-qj3wo on the opposite side I think that this was not even close to be a great series (if not for the score and the hype). Fortitude played very well here and there but also very poorly at times. He managed to make some big blunders and still he went super close to the win by cheesing as hard as he possibly could. There is an abyss between the pure skill that Sok showed and the dumb cheese that Forti showed here. At some point he literally suicided his main hero and then proceeded to win by right-clicking, such skill. If anything it really shows that hu is clearly favored vs UD now, it requires the best player in the world to barely do it vs someone who does several mistakes and is not really at the same level of skill.

They buffed the bad heroes of each race. (They didn't buff an orc hero though, likely due to them not having a weak hero beyond Far Seer 6+).

Potom is worse of course but the way NE play it's either DH with tavern heroes or Keeper with tavern heroes.
There's a recent trend of going just Warden by some players but the idea behind that is you're going for level 6 as fast as you can.
Issue with Warden is she's so mana intense.

The meta hasn't had Warden being used for a couple years.
It's okay to be a fan of using the warden but only a few NE players do that and only when they're trying to surprise the other player. I think Lawliet uses Warden a lot compared to the rest.
Warden isn't an army vs army hero so she's best used early and rushed to 6. A level 6 warden is essentially a win if done right.
But you can watch all the tournaments from this year and you'll get a gasp of surprise whenever someone does use Warden because the hero ISN'T used that much.
Too micro intensive / mana dependent / easy to counter.
If you go Warden you have to use her first and you most likely won't be using a second / third hero, so the strategy to beat NE who goes Warden is well-known and well-explored.
DH and Keeper by far the better choice. In one off matches you'll see Warden played a lot more often.
I've seen Potom used once in tournament play this year which was really neat. Warden maybe three or four times.

As much as I respect Happy for his insane gameplay, I will always, *always* be a Happy Hater. I want a Human champion against him. I don't care what patches need to do, or who needs to play it. Happy's UD needs to lose to a Human player before I can root for the GOAT again

I think making so many cannon towers were mistake,since they were a lot of air units..if he made 2-3 regular towers with 1-2 cannons on expo happy wouldnt be able to approach.
And IMO as a nub xD to many tanks he made without a single army..if he made like 6-7 tanks with army to compete on a field or his exo with happy and send tanks behind would be more efficient IMO
Why not get rockets for the tanks. That's a lot of damage to gargs... I think it finished game one for fort too. Seems crazy...

Lyn is the only one who stops Happie.
The problem is that Lyn does not beat the other players like Happy does.
First they said Grubby would beat him. After that, Soin emerged as somewhat good oppo. After that came 120 who did win a few bo5 vs THE EMPEROR, but he is not consistent. A few months ago SOK's name was in the air, and achieved nothing. I won't even talk bout Forti because this is pure lame that should have been banned 20 years ago. NOBODY will undermine Happy's legacy as best WC3 player EVER. Happy is the only player out there, the others are just mere spectators.
@@lachezarvalentinov8751 Soin and Lyn both already beat Happy in grand finals. Lyn did it in the offline biggest tournament of 2019. But Happy has improved more than anyone since that. He is indeed the GOAT. But the hype will always be there against Lyn. It is #1 vs #2 after all.

It's the mental fortitude, it's the shining fact he is playing the most micro intense race with all those nerfs online... it's the fact he achieved everything in this game and broke so many records. It's the fact that his presence alone in some FINAL makes many thousands of fans sit in front of their TV/PC/Laptop/Telephone and watch in awe how BIG DIMMY somehow finds a way to victory. Say, if Orb of Corruption reduced armour by 10 or old pre-nerfed Destros were online, I wouldn't be hyping or perhaps wouldn't be even writing this comment...Imagine playing mass ghouls vs Knights and STILL prevailing.
