Bathsheba's name means daughter of the covenant in Hebrew. Bath means daughter. Another way to remember this is that Jewish people have bar mitzvahs for their sons and bat mitzvahs for their daughters to celebrate their respective becoming men and women in their society. Any woman named Bathsheba was supposed to be a promised daughter in the eyes of God. This would make any victory that the devil had over her soul that much more "great". I mean "great" as in large or immense. I use it in a pejorative sense. Bathsheba was the name of the woman who was blamed for King David's downfall. David, the same who slayed Goliath and became king after Saul, saw Bathsheba bathe naked while he was on the rooftop. He lusted after her, called her in and despite her being married to another man, David and Bathsheba slept together several times. Bathsheba told David she was pregnant with his child. David wanted to cover his sin, so, he told Uriah (Bathsheba's husband who was a commander in David's army) to go home from the war and fuck his own wife. Uriah refused because he felt it was better for him to fight the war to protect Israel. David became annoyed by Uriah so he arranged for the soldiers to go with Uriah into battle and then withdraw their support so that Uriah would inevitably be killed by their enemies. Long story short, Bathsheba becomes another one of David's wives. She has the baby, but it dies and David is punished by God and is chastized by Nathan, the prophet. David's family would later be cursed where so many terrible things would happen. His son would develop incestuous feelings towards his sister and would rape David's daughter. His other son would kill the rapist son. It was just a horrible, horrible mess. David would lose his political power and his family and kingdom were torn asunder. So, Bathsheba became a name for a woman of covenant or promise to God but then commit a devastating sin. God punished David by killing the baby of Bathsheba and David. So, in the movie, a witch binding herself to Satan by killing children seems significant to point out. In Christian/Jewish traditions, a woman's greatest role is being a co-creator and bringing children to this world and so to do the reverse would be one of the worst sins to make.
Bathsheba was the most terrifying entity in the Conjuring universe in my opinion. The real Bathsheba Sherman haunting is just as terrifying, Great video!

The way I saw it, when Bathsheba invades the Warren's house, she only went, when the locket was left at the farmhouse, creating a connection to the one in Judy's room. I think it was purely just Malthus pulling judy’s leg the next year as it makes no sense as to why Bathsheba would have been caught in the music box. I think the ghost trapped in the music box is Rory and Bathsheba was just banished back to hell.
OK... Batsheba's spirit can travel to Judy bcs of the locket, and the doll attracts Bathsheba bcs of the spiritual power emanating from it (bcs of Malthus being latched onto it). Naturally, an evil with like BS would be drawn to it , especially if it has demonic power. It is unlikely that Bathsheba would be allowed to use Malthus' power, however, she might have struck a bargain with him, being the evil witch she is, to perhaps use a fraction of Malthus' intelligence and power to do whatever is needed to get to Judy. Bathsheba however, is ultimately banished and it is Malthus who uses the Annabelle doll as his way of misleading people to get close to them. Since it began as a little girl's doll, Malthus has a thing for young girls...

The books are absolutely amazing and they have a lot more information then the movie had. Bathsheba is related to the woman who was hung for witchcraft. You can see Bathsheba's family bloodline online!
The Queen Of Sheba deserves a mention, in some beliefs was thought to have been a demoness, trying to trick Solomon and is linked to Lilith, along with demoness Naamah.
My neighbor at the time had owned that blue van that later comes in the movie and he was offered cash by the film producers for it. They were in the same area as the film and it just really fit the aesthetic they were going for. Still cool to see it today.

Judging by how Ed was handling the music box, I'm fairly certain Bathsheba is not attached to it. I think it's moreso just a memento of the case. As for Judy being pulled out of bed, the same way - many spirits do that. But it was, most likely, Malphas, doing that to illicit a deeper fear from Judy, as it's both startling and, as she has been woken like that, before, the fear would be stronger, due to her memory of the first time.
So I'm finding myself in an interesting position: I love horror movies, but after years and years of watching them, they no longer scare me. It might sound strange, but the way I enjoy them is more akin to how someone else might enjoy action movies or Saturday morning cartoons.
Men imagine if the conjuring franchise and the insidious franchise and the paranormal activity franchise all came together that would be a scary thought
Bathseba was actually born in 1812 and died in 1863 in the Conjuring Universe. She got married and had her child in 1863 and then killer herself the same year. Also, Bathsheba wasn't trapped in the music box that belonged to Rory. She actually did go to Hell after Ed and Carolyn defeated her. But that box was still used in a ghostly presence which is why the Warrens took it. It was Malthus who pulled on Judy's ankle in Annabelle 3 because he learned that from Bathsheba, and it was an homage to her.
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and explaining everything, sometimes google can't answer everything that happened so its nice watching your videos to fully understand the story
I stumbled on this channel a while back and forgot to subscribe it you popped up in my suggested vids today and I was so stoked. Great channel with great content.
in my opinion, it was never bathsheba who was captured in the music box. It was the spirit of Rory. Bathsheba was condemed to hell and also, the ankle thing is just Malthus learning from Bathsheeba. Malthus is a clever demon and has learnt and used several methods over the years within the conjuring universe.
Why was 6 afraid of 7? It's a fairly common question, mostly because when people see 6 and 7 next to each other, it doesn't really make sense. 6 is large, muscled, and trained in multiple martial arts, while 7 is fairly average, physically, and short. However, 6's fear of 7 has its roots in childhood. See, 6 and 7 grew up together, and for a few years, they were best friends. But then 6 kissed 3, and they became childhood sweethearts. 7 secretly had feelings for 3, so 7 decided he needed to destroy 6 to win 3's affection. He started subtly, undermining 6 whenever possible with passive aggressive comments and compli-sults. But over time, things got much more insidious. 7 started messing with 6's performance in school, bringing down his grades and turning teachers against him. Even worse, 7 became great friends with 6's parents and slowly turned them against their own offspring. At night, 7 would sneak into 6's bedroom, and whisper depressing and hopeless things into his ears. Every time 3 was around, 7 would pants 6 and make fun of his genitalia, or try to body shame him in other ways. However, 3 was both smart and compassionate, and saw through 7's schemes, sticking with 6, trying to counter 7's psychological tear-down with compliments and friendship. Finally, 7 decided that he would never be able to win 3, so he drugged both 6 and 3, taking them to an abandoned cobbler's hut on the edge of town. There, he proceeded to torture and maim 3, forcing 6 to watch in horror, unable to do anything to save his sweetheart. 7 didn't kill 3, but instead, put her in a semi-vegetative state. 7 cleaned the scene of his prescence, then called the cops, having 6 blamed for 3's condition. 6 was sent to prison, believing 6 was guilty, 6's parents fell into a deep depression, eventually committing suicide over what they believed 6 had done. After serving 17 years of a 30 year sentence, and getting out on good behaviour, 6, now muscled and skilled as a fighter, thought he might get revenge on 7. But when he finally tracked down 7, he found out that 7 had installed a micro-bomb into 3's body, and should he be killed, the bomb would automatically go off and kill 3 as well. And though she was still in a mostly fugue state, 6 couldn't bring himself to hurt her any further, and decided to try and move on with his life. However, being an ex-con, it was difficult for him to get a job. 6 finally found employment at a diner, which 7 then bought, and proceeded to again undermine and toy with 6 at every turn. 6 tried to find employment elsewhere, but 7 contacted any potential employer and soured them against 6. 6 finally realized that no matter what he did, 7 was going to try and ruin his life, and he resigned himself to living as a broken, lonely man, never able to stand up to the depraved, amoral 7.

I'd watch a TV series of this.
agreed
Was waiting to see who CZ was gonna be today with the "I'm/My name is..." and yet!
I was so disappointed
The hands coming out of the shadows and clapping next to Caroline messed me up for a week. My friends would clap to freak me out constantly lol
Am I the only one that would love to see CZs World and Dead Meat collab
Think I might see him later, I'll let him know you said that!
i love your videos, i miss most small details in films, i appreciate your hard work in finding everything dude.
I love these Horror History videos! Even if Bathsheba is the creepiest thing ever.
New viewer here!! 🙋🏼♀️ I just had to “stop”, at the point of the “Perron’s story”, to let you know how much I’m enjoying this so far!! I look forward to delving into your video archives, to catch up on what I’ve missed!! ✌🏻❤️ Catherine
You are the reason I watched every single conjuring universe movie! I love your videos so much! Thank you so much for giving me fun worlds to escape into!
The books are absolutely amazing and they have a lot more information then the movie had. Bathsheba is related to the woman who was hung for witchcraft. You can see Bathsheba's family bloodline online!
Yeah Bathsheba is scary and all... But can we appreciate for a minute how CZ almost never blinks :-) ?
Yeah especially this scene 14:44
I literally couldn't go bed straight away after seeing that
I coudnt stop staring at his hair😌

Bathsheba isn't dark or good entity ... There were other entity that possessed Cindy not mother .. Mother was only attacked...
The Queen Of Sheba deserves a mention, in some beliefs was thought to have been a demoness, trying to trick Solomon and is linked to Lilith, along with demoness Naamah.
You can absolutely kidnap your own child.
Happens a lot in custody disputes.
The best thing of these videos is that CZ tries coming up with logical connection and reasoning. This makes the content appealing.
can we talk about the parents who named their kid bathsheba? thats like naming your kid luzifer and then complaining about how evil he is
Because it's just a name. Lmao

I’m glad I’m not the only one who finds Bathsheba the most frightening of the Conjuring villains
It's looks like really remember Joey King conjuring movie part in doing more money made movie
You’re always amazing at explaining these histories. I love horror but you’ve deepened my love for it!
"Air Yeeted" 😂. That always gets me.
Watching the first Conjuring now. Thank you for your hard work and doing your homework for your horror history
You for your hard work and doing your homework for your history horror history
My neighbor at the time had owned that blue van that later comes in the movie and he was offered cash by the film producers for it. They were in the same area as the film and it just really fit the aesthetic they were going for. Still cool to see it today.
I would absolutley LOVE to see a "prequel" to The Conjuring, about the original investigating team at the house who were there BEFORE the Warrens, and how they were instrumental in bringing Ed and Lorraine Warren into the case!
Oh you can absolutely kidnap your own child, that's a pretty big thing actually lol
Anyone ever examine if she herself was a victim of abuse-the unrest of her spirit leads me to believe there may have been aspects of her life she is seeking justice for
I love this channel, just soothes my little dark heart and my love of history rolled in to one. 🤤🖤
I would like to see you do a horror history on the “Silent Hill”movies I’d love to hear your thoughts on how the titular town was portrayed in the two movies I love watching you horror history section of your channel which is why I’d love to hear you opinion on those movies
I love these stories! and also the Conjuring is one of my favorites!

I want to see her in a stand alone movie, they've given everyone else except the OG demon a movie
Your videos are well made. Really appreciate the effort. Definitely will love to see this type of video of other horror franchises characters.
Grainger stranger do to do with her first memory of her the first time.

this channel is great! i've never seen videos so in depth.
So I'm finding myself in an interesting position: I love horror movies, but after years and years of watching them, they no longer scare me. It might sound strange, but the way I enjoy them is more akin to how someone else might enjoy action movies or Saturday morning cartoons.
"Look what you made me do" can't believe these ghosts were bopping to reputation album
Man I just gotta say I'm so happy I stumbled upon your channel while staying up late. The quality of your videos are just amazing
Men imagine if the conjuring franchise and the insidious franchise and the paranormal activity franchise all came together that would be a scary thought
I’m just thinking of an Office style parody where we get all the demon/ghost perspectives who are fed up with work (aka haunting/killing people) 😂
This is so great. So professionally produced. So glad I"m subscribed.
Here for the storytelling, CZ;s unique charm and the "Air Yeets"
LOVE your horror histories CZ! Thanks so much for this :)
Just found your channel and loving these horror history videos from the conjuring. Subbed and will be enjoying my binge watch lol
Is it just me or I find it cute that Rory is trying to protect the kid Andrea 🥺
Been waiting for this one since the Valak Horror History
Bathseba was actually born in 1812 and died in 1863 in the Conjuring Universe. She got married and had her child in 1863 and then killer herself the same year. Also, Bathsheba wasn't trapped in the music box that belonged to Rory. She actually did go to Hell after Ed and Carolyn defeated her. But that box was still used in a ghostly presence which is why the Warrens took it. It was Malthus who pulled on Judy's ankle in Annabelle 3 because he learned that from Bathsheba, and it was an homage to her.
Bathsheba is just creepy. Like if I had to choose between her or Valak, u bet I'll go with the latter
The first Conjuring was the best imo. It was the one that scared me raw. The second and third didn't scare me nearly as bad.
I just found your channel and I love it! Definitely need more horror related channels to watch
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos and explaining everything, sometimes google can't answer everything that happened so its nice watching your videos to fully understand the story
I will never stop laughing at all the yeeting.

I stumbled on this channel a while back and forgot to subscribe it you popped up in my suggested vids today and I was so stoked. Great channel with great content.
I really enjoy your videos and the effort you put into them. Thanks for the constant dependent videos.
Another awesome video! I really love these deep dives into the characters :D
13:34 yeah, small detail but you absolutely 100% can kidnap your own child
in my opinion, it was never bathsheba who was captured in the music box. It was the spirit of Rory. Bathsheba was condemed to hell and also, the ankle thing is just Malthus learning from Bathsheeba. Malthus is a clever demon and has learnt and used several methods over the years within the conjuring universe.
I live in RI and there’s been issues with people defacing and vandalizing Bathsheba’s grave.
Now let’s delve deeper into La Llorona lore! 😬
Your attention to detail is uncanny. Awsome content
Omg so much work there has to be in doing all the investigation for these videos. Great work as always. Best horror channel on UA-cam
Yes.
