Very well worded video, quick and straight to the point. Awesome. Just ordered a Motherboard, PSU and CPU upgrade for the time and have no clue what I would've been doing. Cheers for the vid mate!
Superb. Everything was clear regarding power supply installation and connections going to Motherboard power, CPU power, SATA drives. Thanks. I was a little confused about PCIe connectors.
For real man, I've started following this channel lately and honestly am amazed the way he explains everything, I came from the dual channel explanation video
I just left my PC with geek squad because I was afraid of this!!?? Why!?!? This looks so easy! Very well explained and easy to understand. I could be enjoying my new GTX 4070 right now but bcz installation was free I figured sure why not have them do it? And the tech told me that the power supply requires the entire computer to be taken apart and takes a long long time whereas the GPU and memory are easy to install. This looks pretty easy too. I’m going to Best Buy tomorrow to pickup my stuff and do it myself. I don’t want to wait several more days.
So what if you do all of this, everything turns on, all the fans are running. But for some reason when you plug your monitor, keyboard, and mouse none of them are detected and nothing is showing. This has been my dilemma for a while and no matter who I ask no one can figure out what’s wrong
That means the computer is failing to boot, make sure the RAM you have is working correctly and compatible with your system, try starting the system up with minimal peripherals, etc.
@@TorqcxI can't get an hdmi picture with my pc monitor. The second one connected to my Playstation 4 works just fine. I'm thinking something is not plugged in correctly to the right ports or I'm missing a cable with my PSU. If you see this, can I get your thoughts?
@@the90sbrain More information would be needed, it doesn't SOUND like a power supply issue with that info alone, but it could be the graphics card (maybe if it weren't getting enough power?)
@@Torqcx Yeah my PSU turns on and everything. I'm just having hdmi display issues currently. I read up that a bad PSU or issues with it can cause signal display issues as well. I am replacing my old hdmi cable today, hopefully it will fix the issue. Thank you for responding, it means a lot. Unless you want to be updated of when it's fixed, I got it from here. Stay blessed man.
I have a ryzen 7 5800x Whit 3600mhz ram If i put xmp on will it broke my cpu or have it nothing to do whit it? I mean on the amd site it says its run on 3200mhz so iam a bit scared to set it to 3600mhz but now i have 2100mhz or something😂 can i turn xmp on whitout breaking my cpu?
XMP mode essentially runs your RAM at its fastest possible speed without overclocking it. Turning it on should be completely safe. Funny you should mention though, ever since I changed the positions if my RAM module, my computer won't start up if I have XMP mode on! I'm trying to look into it.
I desperately need help! It's been over 14 years since I built my last PC, (unfortunately for health reasons) I have a beautiful box from 2010, acrylic glass and LED hoses, but the connections (initials/names) are quite different from the current motherboard, I can't understand how make the last connections to the motherboard and 1 ASRock B550-HDV and I have no idea how to connect the wires. If you send photos.or.names.of the cables, would it be possible for someone to help me so I can finally get my PC working?!
So, if I have fans connecting to the CPU but don't have any hard drives, I should just connect fans through the drivers cable and let the rest all alone?
What happens if your mother board requires 16 pins? I have one 8 pin cpu connector and one 8 pcie connector plugged into the graphics card. Do I not need anything in the other 8?
Are you saying your motherboard has a 16-pin CPU slot? If so, it depends on what CPU you have; generally speaking you should only need an 8-pin CPU power connector to power it up, but check your specs first, obviously.
I moved my pc into my closet and made a little gaming room but there’s no outlets in there. So I plugged my power supply cord into a surge protector that’s also plugged into a surge protector thwt is plugged into the wall and it won’t turn on. My guess is it’s not getting enough power right?
My motherboard have 16pin cpu power and my power supply has also 16pin cpu power, m using i7 13 gen so should i use 16pin or only just 8 pin cpu power?
Without anymore info, it sounds like that CPU only requires an 8-pin connector. That being said, you could go ahead and just plug all of the pins in regardless, the system should only use what it needs to.
If the computer is turning on but the display is not getting a signal, it usually doesn't necessarily mean the power supply is the culprit. Did your system work and boot up with a previous power supply? I'd check your graphics card and RAM.

2:57 you feel old ... I learned computer programming on a mainframe with cobol, fortran, and pascal. PCs for home use were just coming out.

Instructions was soo clear that you could do this with the sound off. Proper good job mate 👍
Thank you so much, I couldn’t find a video of a power supply with all the cables bunched up in the psu, and you didn’t use many tech words.

all powersupplys have to face down?
Generally yes, they should be facing whatever direction their fan is oriented in where there is a vent on the chassis.

The fact that you don't have hard drives shouldn't change how you should plug your fans in.

Yes, I would avoid chaining surge protectors.

My new psu has holes on top and pc case has metal on top can i set it upside down ?
Yes, it sounds like that case you have is intended to have its PSU's fan facing the bottom.

so i have this other connector on my molex connector its like another cable and its sitting there empty on my pc is that for RGB? on the case fans
Can you see where it's connecting to in the chassis anywhere? It could be for an LED somewhere on it, without any other information.
mine display isn't turning on, whats should I check?
If the computer is turning on but the display is not getting a signal, it usually doesn't necessarily mean the power supply is the culprit. Did your system work and boot up with a previous power supply? I'd check your graphics card and RAM.
are all 500w power supplies same dimension?
All standard ATX power supplies should be able to fit into the slot of any non-micro chassis, yes.
Thanks
do i need ro install it on mother board?
Power supplies need to be plugged into the motherboard in order for the computer to function if that is what you're asking, yes.
